NuclearWinter Its mainly for the freshmen/sophomores now, since anyone 20 or above can just right that they are leaving on a sign out sheet to let the RA’s know they weren’t kidnaped. Same reason mainly that there is attendance in freshmen/sophomore classes but not in upper level ones. It’s to try and encourage good patterns of behavior early in their college career.

Joi Lamay Liberty is the one of the few colleges with a curfew. It's like you guys are still kids and not adults.

NuclearWinter it's a conservative school. All conservative schools do this. Are you truly that surprised.

Liberty has so much to offer. If a 12am curfew keeps someone from going to a great university its there loss.

It's honestly not bad and it's not like you have to go to bed, you just gotta be back on your hall which helps you build great community with the people on your hall and since you're back on your hall and not going anywhere (you can leave if you sign out and you're 20 or older or if you get permission from your RA or if you go with your RA) you might as well get homework done. Every rule that they have that may seem kind of stupid has some really positive attributes and side effects to it. Sometimes it is inconvenient but it prevents a lot of crap... and if you really don't like curfew, they have a thing on one part of campus that is no curfew or you could just move off campus.

I don't mean to hate, but the issue that most have with the school is that it teaches creationism as a legitimate alternative to evolution and that dinosaurs lived 3,000 years ago.

powerofpickle I don’t know why people care that we teach creation. With the majority of students it has nothing to do with their field so who cares.

Liberty university might be the largest university in Virginia by population but I think 80% is online while 20% is in person.

MGR1900 Calling a school a Clown college just because they take a more literal approach to the bible is rather hateful and mean-spirted, while I do agree that it can be a bit ignorant to completely ignore the theory of evolution. If it contradicts the beliefs and fundamentals on which the school is founded on, why would they teach something that completely contradicts their beliefs?

Landon Tapscott With all due respect, if you are asking me to be more sensitive to an institution that takes an idiot's approach to the Bible, I'm sorry but no I will not be. I will call out sheer stupidity when I see it if it's rightfully deserved. When you think of the greater institutions of learning such as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, or Norte Dame Law school, sorry, but Liberty University is closer to Barnum and Bailey's clown school than it is to these places. You want cruel? A friend of mine told me that if he was ever on the hiring board at a company and somebody handed him a resume that claimed they graduated from Liberty, their resume would be in the garbage quicker than they could walk out the front door. I'm not being critical of one's religious beliefs but when it comes to education, don't be intentionally ignorant. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to read it verbatim literally word for word. That whole fundamentalist concept is corrupt. The Bible is a collection of books. So is a library. Would you take a library literally? Of course you wouldn't. There's a history section. There's a poetry section. There's a wisdom section. To say the correct approach to a library is to read everything literally is stupid and, honestly, deserves to be mocked. Did you know a Catholic priest came up with Big Bang theory? Sorry, but if I'm going to sit in a classroom where the professor says that the Catholic priest's Big Bang theory is foolish because the priest didn't take a literal interpretation of the Bible, I expect that professor to be carrying a bottle of seltzer water, a big red nose, and walk in with size 30 shoes. Sorry if that's offensive but sometimes the truth hurts.

MGR1900 What the fuck are you talking about? You're arguing that they should willing teach something that completely discredits their religion? Why in the holy hell would they do that, it would defeat the entire purpose of it being a CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY. Also, having taken many duel-enrollment and AP courses throughout my PUBLIC-SCHOOL, and attending a course here at Liberty (I'm scouting colleges this week) I can safely say that the subject material is relatively the same as how most Public Universities would teach them. Honestly the only difference between Liberty and "Normal" college is that they usually sprinkle in references to the bible during their lecture, which again, is COMPLETELY fine. Now I will admit, the whole carbon-dating belief is willful ignorance on their part, but chances are if you're applying to Liberty you aren't intending to be a teacher of Evolution. What is even more ignorant is throwing away a resume based on a unfair reputation. Hell, in all honesty it sounds like your friend just has a problem with christains if they're not even going to examine their credentials. Hell, I'm surprised you even listed Harvard and Yale as credible Universities, given their Safe-Space polocies and etc. In fact, you know what's even more retarded then believing Dinosaurs are 6,000 years old? Believing that there are more then 2 genders, again, something that is commonly taught in most public colleges. Hell, if it can even get taught, given all the protests most public colleges are undergoing at the moment.

Crouch Justin We, in fact, do! We have a class that studies him and his theory of evolution in depth. We look at all the evidence provided and then make the best conclusions possible with given evidence. Definitely an interesting experience! I learned more in that class than 12 years of public school.

Jarobi Clark I go there currently and just like with every school there are pros and cons but God is doing amazing things there. I never wanted to go to Liberty until I checked it out for myself and then I loved it

Awe! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. I might get to meet your brother some time! I'm a junior there right now in the cinematic arts program. And I completely agree! I love Liberty and I love how we can all understand what is happening in the video, because we hear that dialogue frequently, while people who don't attend Liberty can't really understand it to its fullness haha They see it almost like a foreign language. I can hear them saying to themselves, "Why do they want to 'rot'?" I think every school probably has its frequently heard dialogue as well.
