That pinky roll on the E and A string is tough one! Thanks for the content
Would you recommend modifying these exercises for acoustic? (I find frets past 12 to be super difficult and impossible to go quickly)
@@cory9958 absolutely. All the exercises should go to about the 10th fret on acoustic.
hey! Is -1 half step down or a whole step? Thank you
It's a semi-step, so if you are in E standard you will go to Eb when -1, and D if you go -2.
thanks for explaining this properly
Alternative universe where Jimmy doesn't become Saul Goodman and rocks the guitar instead
Big thanks from Romania 🙏
Thanks! Just what I was looking for! Love the sound too!
That intro was amazing
Is the telecast or the only guitar you can do that with?
Anyt guitar that doesn't have a locking nut will work.
@danshieldsguitar what's the best for easy bendies? A Jackson or is fender the champion of easy bendlez?
@ really any guitar w/o a locking nut will work fine!
@@danshieldsguitar thanks handsome man
Hello, this is very well done. Thank you so much. I use a Kemper Profiler Stage, would you be willing to share or sell your profile for this song? The sound you get from the Kemper is very similar to the original. I love it!
Sure. Shoot me an email!
@@danshieldsguitarDone!
Hi Dan! I think I missed something. Why it is called "Octaves C Form" in the book if we are playing D note?
wondering this aswell
I think the c form is the caged system form for arpeggios though
Hips has it right. These octaves are basically tracing the outline of the CAGED system forms. So it starts in the C form. But as you'll see if you keep going with the book, it is the same shapes for every key. So once you learn the pattern you'll quickly know every note on the neck! Which is incredible. But sometime around week 6 you'll suddenly realize that if you get that shape down, you'll also know every major scale and pentatonic in that key. That'll be one of the most important ideas you'll learn on the instrument, period! It'll be a big lightbulb moment for you and unlock your neck!
@@danshieldsguitar Thanks a lot for the explanation!
I think John uses his thumb on the 6th string
senor balance your sounds. your voice is lost behind the guitar. voice up, guitar down
Awesome demo Thanks ❤
This was actually an old way I used to do this. Now ableton controls all and I never have to do this anymore
Could you do a tutorial on ALRIGHT by Ashes to Amber?
Thanks Dan!
It's quite possible that I'm missing something ...but I have all the performances already built, I minimize the editor (for maximum viewing) and simply click and drag the songs (performances) into the order of the set.
Great tone! Great job! What settings do u use for pedals?
@@TONYRESURRECTION I use a kemper
Spot on, sounds great...
Great work, Thanks!
What level is good for a delay? If it gets lost in the mix
Hmmmm. When I change the global settings to a midi channel and switch to the other, it's the same one. Even if I change that, it changes all of them to the same midi channel
I'm not sure I fully understand. Can you flesh that out a little more? If it's too clucking in text we can talk on the phone.
Great little lesson. And I have an old, beat-up Squire with the same color scheme / pick guard. But SSS, not HSS like yours appears to be.
the midi global location was sooooo helpful. Thanks so much!
Thanks, I'm just a family of Kemper Profiler😃. Tried so many time to find out between Bank & Sub input in midi clip. Now very clear from your instruction👍👍👍
BRO YOUR TONE IS BEYOND THIS WORLD!!!❤
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate this mate!! Just got given a 12 string and your lesson was brilliant- had it down pretty well within half an hour thanks to your clear video. Wishing you well! Thanks again!
7 years later ... , Thanks dude !
You're welcome!!!
And if you don’t mind tell me what the chords are for the chorus
THANK YOU !
Glad it helped! Sorry for such poorly done videos!
Nice job and feeling
Thanks man! It's a beautiful peace.
Thank you
Hey Dan! Have you had any issues with this with Ableton 12? I followed this guide during 11, got it to work. Picked up the Mio and upgraded to 12 and I can't seem to get it to work anymore.
We are still using 11.3.3. Man, that stinks. That would wipe us out! Can you keep me posted on this and if you find a solution let me know?
@@danshieldsguitar Yeah most definitely ! I switched from MIO to Roland UM-ONE-MK2 and fixed this issue. Going to try a few other ideas with the MIO to get it hopefully working.
@@Sleeplesswpg Thanks man! Please keep me posted.
Very nice, thanks for this. Will help me break out of my usual box licks
Nice job 🤟🤠🤟
Awesome Thank you for Sharing 💯✴
Fantastic sounding as always brother 👍🎸
Your Strat sounds great!
What harmonizer/pedal are you using or recommend?
@@marshalldoyle1129 I use the one in the Kemper. I’m not sure what the original track used.
Such a useful video man, taught precisely but doesn’t take an hour on the little details, giving the just of it whilst leaving room for imagination Well done!
at about 6:20 I heard color my world😅😅
congratulations, just ordered one!
Very Helpful!! Thanks
Really grateful thanks 👍
I think he resolves on an fMaj(5?) at the end (not positive)
Thanks! Could be!
This is a really excellent lesson! I wouldn't be surprised if you commonly teach because you're presentation and speaking skills are really engaging and simple to follow. Great work on this!
Thanks so much for the kind words!!
@@danshieldsguitar You're welcome! I'm excited to see more videos! Have a good one!
Good stuff Dan the man!
Thanks Ray!! How’s the guitar daily workout coming along?
Excellent and useful thank you.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
