Canada Nuclear
Canada
Приєднався 15 лют 2011
Every year in Canada, nuclear technology helps avoid 80 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions by displacing fossil fuels and supplies 70% of the global supply of cobalt-60, radioisotopes that are used to treat cancer and sterilize medical equipment, among other things.
It generates more than $6 billion in revenue and creates more than 76,000 direct and indirect, well-paying jobs. Canada stands to solidify its leading position in the world’s nuclear industry with the introduction of next-generation technologies in the form of small nuclear reactors.
The Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) has been the national voice of the Canadian nuclear industry since 1960. Working with our members and all communities of interest, the CNA promotes the industry nationally and internationally, works with governments on policies affecting the sector and endeavours to increase awareness and understanding of the value nuclear technology brings to the environment, economy and daily lives of Canadians

Episode 12: Success Lies In Collaboration
Переглядів 54 місяці тому
In my last video, I talked about how some people in the environmental and renewables industry aren’t being honest with themselves, and the public, about the scope of the energy transition challenge. But I don’t want to separate us from them because we share so many of the same issues. Our challenges are shared and interconnected, transcending the boundaries of specific technologies. One key, sh...

It's always a pleasure to hear Eric singing !!! Nuclear power for the climate! For the Environment! For the humanity! One tiny suggestion: could you enable CC subtitle ? so viewer can turn on auto-gen subtitle? thank you!
This helped so much with my project! Thanks for the video!
This guy will be BIG,one day soon. Bet on it!
I have been monitoring the SMR concept for years now. And I have read some excellent material including the following: www.amazon.ca/Power-Hungry-Myths-Energy-Future/dp/1586489534 Moving in this direction makes the CO2 fiasco move to the back burner where it belongs...... getting science poisoned by politics out of the way.
Well said! This message needs to be promulgated! Thanks
Excellent presentation, all of you, I believe that education of the public in general is key to deployment of whatever msr/smr system can serve the purpose for what it is intended. I am very excited that new GEN4 nuclear is finally, seriously being considered for construction and deployment. However, reference was made to experience in building SMRs in submarines, which is true but submarine reactors still use high pressure water, solid fuel rods system, both of which are inherently dangerous! People must understand that MSRs are inherently safe and walk away safe. There are many places in Canada where they could serve multiple uses and be very efficient and effective at their task! Canada could become a world leader in safe MSR nuclear technology and deployment strategy.
Absolute Genius !
Tyler you are absolutely One incredible individualI. I can sit down for days and Watch you on my TV or phone. You just blow my mind away. I must say This world has another Einstein there’s no doubt in my mind that you will cure cancer. And make this a safer world. thanks thanks again Tyler. I have to go now. I have to get back and watch you on TV. Have a safe and productive day Mr. Tyler👍👍👍
Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful and informative!

Anyone here from BHHS?
In his talk of molten-salt reactor, he was cheating that what he talked his invention. The material he presented was not from his work nor his invention.
Which generation of nuclear reactor is it? 2?
Brilliant Man! Not a kid now. He can talk way over the heads of people working in this area!
Here in my garage?
Amazing and inspiring too.
And you are as illiterate as Hell , James Lalliss !
when is he going to cut his hair?
***** oh whatever... its semantics. its alot easier to say "im american" to differentiate. what are we supposed to say "im united statsian"? the word "america" is also part of our actual country name, unlike canada, or any other country in "america". we were also the first ones to colonize the place so ya, we're taking this one, get over it...
***** Why does the length of someone's hair matter?
IsaacA192 hair is a thermal insulator and takes extra time to wash and dry. It's generally a pretty inefficient thing to keep around. In this remarkable young man's case, it also gets in the way of his vision. It matters because it's an impracticality. It's like, well, wearing a suit. hahaha...
KkkkmJustin Crediblename you have to be kidding what has cutting his hair got to do with anything
In my garage
It would probably take a catastrophic take down of the nations power grid to get your technology on the fast track to 'universal' acceptance.
I'm sorry to say that the science is the 'easy' part. The commercial 'business' part is the hard part. I hope you make it because if you do what you have can potentially change not only the market place but the world. Just make it affordable.
Fossil Fuel is a Lie no such thing as Fossil Fuel .Oil isn't from Dead Life.
+conspiracymedia What!? What are you talking about!?
just not dead life...oil is made by earth and rain..It doesn't run out.If you don't f up earth.
I wouldn't be surprised if he turns out to be the next Steve Jobs
steve jobs got nothing on this kid...newton is a better comparison, or tesla.
+Dane Huyser He's the Maxwell of nuclear power.
Would anybody be surprised if he turns out to be Lex Luthor?
I've watched several of his talks on youtube, this is very cool. I hope he can make some of his visions come true.
Inspiring Talk.. Was a privilege to meet David in

There are 3 communities in Northwest Manitoba (Brochet, Lac Brochet, Tadoule Lake) and another one just across the Saskatchewan border (Kinoosao, SK) whose only sources of electricity is Diesel Powered Generators - They are not connected to the national/continental grid. Would love to host a research center here, in the neighbourhood of these three communities, and accessible to them via year round road (Kinoosao) and winter road (Brochet, Lac Brochet, and Tadoule Lake). We are ideally situated, and have a 5,000' asphalt airstrip at our disposal. Somebody should seriously consider setting up a research center here.
A quite exciting future ahead for this industry!
helpful thanks!
The cost of nuclear power generation is modest compared to most other generation options. It is substantially lower and in greater supply than solar or wind. It is presently slightly more than burning natural gas which has come down due to weak demand in the economy and the expansion of fracking. I am not sure that anyone is attempting t make a case that fracking is safer in either the short or longer term
Used fuel from nuclear reactors is being well managed, and has been for decades. All the waste of 5 decades could fit on a single soccer field. There are also explorations into reusing the spent fuel. The fossil fuel alternative is dirty, we know it kills and there is no technological answer to it. You are breathing their waste.
This was a fun little video application to work with. This video emphasizes the role of nuclear power in reducing reliance on carbon fuels and the contribution the nuclear industry makes to the Canadian economy. Watch, enjoy, and promote!
