Sea kayak rock-gardening

The surf forecast suggested flat conditions suitable for a bit of caving around a favourite headland. The forecast was dodgy and it was a bit rough for most spots.

We started as a group of four: Jackie and Trev (double kayak), Ian and me. After a few days we split into groups of three and one (me). I wanted to retrace some of the path I paddled, with two mates, 45 years earlier. The others were enticed by the sordid delights of Hamilton Island resort. So they went inshore and I went offshore. Six days later I met up with Trev (now in Ian's single) for the...

Looks like an amazing spot. Nice!
branch to the back of the head looked a bit rough!
Nice video, thank you!
Such a beautiful coastline.. so much wildlife
Quickest nature stop ever☺
Cool edit 🤝💪
Womderful
Cool footage If I'm reading it right, at 0;25 the yellow kayak drops into 'the infamous Devil's Cauldron'. Ballsy if so. On my trips bouncing down the Nymboida, the guide was VERY adamant that we avoid that particular bit. Admittedly,
No - that is Lucifer's Leap at 0:25. Devils 2 is at 1:27. Devils 1 is definitely avoided!
Wow, this amazing and scary all at the same time.. Jamie…
Where is is this? 😲👌
cliffhanger ending
Need the right skills too. Nice one, beautiful place.
I’m liking the look of you yellow striped paddle
It's a beauty!
Truly exquisite, made all the more desirable by the stinking heat of QLD Summer, the possums can be a bit of a bother, was thinking Bear Bags would be ineffective, I had to resort to beating them with my walking stick on the Overland Track.
Looks like a great day!
Amazing trip, thanks for the great video and stoke!!
only 'occasional'! inspirer!! Always a pleasure to paddle with you ... and what a sweet crew!
great video
beautiful river ... where is this?
It’s good to see an Australian river. Pity about the destroying floods. I’m glad you adjusted your camera up towards the end.
Enjoyed the video Tony. Clearly you three were have a great time on some interesting water. A perfect combination!!!
Awesome video mate. That water must be getting chilly though.
Looks like paddling down from Bostobrick Bridge
Or even higher
Crazy stuff. Great footage :)
Nice one Tony!
Great trip! Where did you put in? How far upstream?
Real cool, Tony!
That was cheeky 😜
What a grand day out and about.
That's a fun looking river! Thanks
Now I can pretend it is me paddling my green Braap.
Well, there's nothing to say it's not you! Oh yes there is - the paddler is not using one of your wing paddles.
