Enemo J was established around the year 2000, initially featuring Craig on vocals and decks, Leroy on vocals, Bucky on bass, Dennis on drums, and Bob on guitar. However, the current lineup has undergone changes, with Craig and Adam taking over vocals, Simon on drums, and Broady and Chris on guitar, while Bucky remains on bass.
During their inaugural performance, the band triumphed in the first round of the battle of the bands in Tamworth, eventually securing third place overall, notably as the sole metal band in the top three. Subsequently, they achieved further success by winning their hometown battle of the bands, securing second place in a Midlands final at Emergenza (judged by official scouts of Sony/Columbia), where they were awarded the Best Guitarist accolade and received an Ernie Ball/Music Man sponsored guitar. Additionally, they garnered recognition among the top bands in the Midlands, as acknowledged by Xposed Magazine.
Their early recording at the Hive in Derby quickly gained traction, featuring the track 'Influential Dropoutz,' which also appeared on two compilation albums, reaching a considerable audience. However, due to poor recording quality, the band withdrew their early demo and embarked on a year-long spree of organizing and hosting gigs to raise funds for their debut album. Following the same strategy and bolstered by merchandise sales, they successfully funded their second album. With nearly four thousand pounds raised, the band entered the studio, ultimately choosing Matt Ellis, recommended by Julie Weir (manager of 'Lost Prophets'), who had previously produced bands such as 'Number One Son'.
