I don’t think it’s too late to plan for this summer! We visited in July and made the majority of our bookings in March and April. I do recommend making your car reservations and Mykines ferry ticket purchases in advance as both are limited in availability. There is a ATM at the airport where you can withdraw Faroese króna (Danish Krone are also accepted) but we didn’t end up using any cash on this trip as everyone took cards which is much more cost effective if your card doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees. As far as food I’ll be honest and say that we are all adventurous eaters so we spent time seeking our more traditional Faroese food. That being said, you should be fine finding food you’re comfortable with. Outside of the two cities most options offer pretty typical snack bar fare, fried things, sandwiches, French fries, pizza, etc. We also relied heavily on grocery stores for things like breakfast and premade sandwiches for hikes. In Torshavn you’ll have access to all kinds of cuisine and in Klaksvik Cafe Frida is a great option.
