Totally get you. I’m really meticulous with my budget and “must haves” now. Granted, I do typically buy preowned but there’s no denying that collecting is an expensive hobby!

I've stopped, too, influncers getting them for free or the special ones given to them. Others buying up to 4...really you need 4 of the same doll and third party sellers. Can't find Jinafire anywhere here in Canada or Amazon unless it's third party upselling it. Not enjoying collecting anymore in any way due to all this. 😢😢😢

I've actually been going back and buying old dolls like the lil bratz that I missed out on as a child. Not really buying any new dolls I just want older toys and I'm looking into blind box bjds.

You laid out really good reasons. I was kinda glad when RH started its decline, easier on my wallet. Last November, I decided I'm devoting my time to restyling the dolls I have and doing some minor face painting. When I start looking for dolls to buy, I redirect towards a project doll. I'm sure I will buy dolls in 2025, but I am aiming to love the dolls I have instead of being stuck in the buying loop

The thing is there nothing worth in playline anymore, I really love Monster High, and G3 is doing really great stuff, but they just don't measure up in design and quality with what Rainbow High and lol omg were offering before 2024 and ever since I never been whoaed by a playline doll. I still collect them, but more like they it that dopamine kicks in wait of something better, but if nothing comes along, I'm happy with my current collection and will move on to another of my hobbies .

I agree with you. I stopped buying dolls in 2022 and still don't. But I still appreciate my small collection of left dolls (I sold most of them).

Thanks for sharing. Doll collecting IS prohibitively expensive in these hard times. I find I value the dolls all the more when I can only buy absolute must haves. Curating is very satisfying too when there aren't constantly new dolls to deal with. Best of luck to you in your new space.

I agree with you, the skullector line this year was soooooooo boring. I didn't bother getting any this year, and i'm also a big fan of the line.

Really interesting - I agree with a lot o what you said for sure. I feel so done with buying playline dolls. I doubt I'll be buying much in 2025 - just a few here and there.

do you know what year this doll came out? I have Serpentina from this series and I LOVE her to bits. I am a scorpio so I'd love to find her. Serpentina has amazingly soft and beautiful hair so I wonder why Scorpio doesn't! Anyways, lovely video I just made a video of restoring my serpentinas banana face hahha

I have a collection of these, you don’t know how hard this doll line to find. It took me two years to collect Moxie Teenz dolls. They’re more like the cheap versions of BJD. Think the dolls was discontinued because they’re expensive. I love these dolls so much when the commercial came out, I wasn’t too into the wig gimmick. They worth the price. Sad these was slept on. I remember wanting these dolls so much. Hated the wigs for sure. They rereleased it’s first wave I’m late 2013. Moxie Teenz was certainly a mix of collector and playline.

I think siphon was a doll that was a passion piece for one of the designers with all the differences she has over every doll all the way to series 7 she is the only different one to my knowledge

I honesly as a collector feel sick seeing that exclusive out of the box I bought it in 2005 and regret pulling her out of the box then Also the coat is pop snaps easy pop off and pop on

I love La de daa dolls. I wish there were more to collect. They are some of my favorites and I have a huge monster, ever after and rainbow high collection. What a great deal!!

I love this video! I cannot believe that Gloria Phobia was only $6.99. I'm so glad that these are avaliable in the UK and for decent prices. I recently bought 3 more girls making my collection 11 in total plus a kinder sized goth too. My all time favourite is Raven and she is the centre of my display! Peace and love xoxo

I wouldn’t call living dead dolls baby doll in style. They are just standard dolls Granted I only use baby doll for dolls of literal baby’s sense I don’t count fashion dolls as the standard doll
