    This machine is ginormous for just providing 3 bolts! I designed a robotic cell with that foot print which then inserted 17 bolts on Ford’s oil pan. You teach me how to fly and I give you my plan :)

      This was a prototype to see if it would even work using cheap materials that we had laying around. Was a concept of low cost automation and beyond my belief this thing ran for over 2 years on the production line. The job has since been changed and this engine line is being discontinued. The flying is a lot of fun, I highly recommend it!

    What happened? Sounded like his prop hit the netting or was that you? We’re you on a radio with him? Looked like he was finally climbing out just fine, then the noise, then heading for the ground, where he should have flared, not gone hands up.

      @shanewyman9419 3 роки тому

      Aerobatty, no real injuries. Neck was a little sore, broken prop, broken net quarter on left side. My phone was on a tether and fell out of side pocket and went through the prop on climb out. That was the noise you heard. When I heard something hit the prop, I immediately killed the motor, turned right towards open area, went hands up to build speed for the flare which in all the excitement I did not do. We had a preflight brief on what to do and where the outs were and I think I nailed every part but the landing! Thank God these things fly rather slowly!

      @@shanewyman9419 Glad you’re ok. I had a similar incident when my riser bag came out of my harness pocket that I had forgotten to zip. It was a fast landing that ended up on my knees, but no injury. Has my Sena Bluetooth attachment come off my helmet and hit the prop once. No damage to the prop though. I flew for an hour and didn’t know I’d lost the attachment until I was putting everything away.

    What's the purpose of this automation application??

    • @shanewyman9419
      @shanewyman9419 4 роки тому

      Mangesh, I uploaded another video of it called bolt feeder running production. We were tasked with building Low Cost Automation. In this particular installation the goal was to deliver the 3 water pump bolts to the assembler so that they don't have to count them and they are in the correct orientation to grab and are shuttled across the line to operator. This drastically cut down on clutter at operators station and allows bulk bolts to be delivered opposite side of operator so they don't get in each others way while refilling. This was made out of very cheap materials, stuff we have laying around instead of buying very expensive, complex machines to do same operation. This has been running for 3 years and has delivered over 3.5 milliion bolts.

      Grab a 19mm socket or wrench, go to Autozone and loan a MacPherson strut compressor tool. It looks like you’re going to have to disconnect the strut from the car, and compress the spring to see where the problem is. It looks as if the spring is not snug under the strut mount for some reason from it not being correctly seated.

      Shane Wyman ah glad Monroe was able to solve the problem! Monroe quality control seems to be hit or miss these days. I ordered rear strut mounts for my 09 Camry and i had to bend two of the bolts so they could go straight into the mounting holes with one of them.
