If this filler cap is the same as QX50, to remove the filler cap you have to slip a thin flat blade between the metal post and the very thin and shallow plastic latch. You have to be on the inside of the metal and get BETWEEN the two pieces and lift the plastic piece off of the metal.
I'm not familiar with QX50, but it sounds exactly how the dipstick tube cover should be removed. Thank you for watching.
Very clear and concise instructions. Excellent!
Thank you for watching.
where are you located ?
In Western Massachusetts. Thank you for watching.

The video is great, you need to keep promoting your channel. Is not hard.
Thank you.
Be aware of transfer case, which is prone to leak.
Correct. As I pointed in my video, new 18mm aluminum crash washers need to be used for the drain and fill plugs, and they both need to torqued to 26 ftlb. It's always a good practice to check for leaks after any fluid change. Thank you for watching.
@ I mean the seals leak, not the two oil plugs. Your video is intuitive
@@leo3325 Thanks for pointing this out
Additionally, I was expecting three and three-quarter quarts to come out. But I had a little bit more than 1 gallon. I guess with the additional oil from the external filter and the pan filter I also had to put 5 quarts in to get it to come out a little .I was actually getting pretty nervous thinking I did something wrong
I'm glad it worked out well for you
I just did the CVT change on mine. Both filters. Easiest thing I’ve ever done. What I did notice with the external filter concerning the hidden bolt was all I had to do was put a 10 mm box wrench on it and just crack the pressure. It came off with no problem. What I noticed was on the other three bolts there was a little bit of Loctite. On that hidden bolt, the threads were clean as a whistle and literally just spun right out.
What is the mileage on your car?
@ I did it at 69k. The fluid was dark , but not as bad as I was expecting. Even when I dropped the pan , the magnets were not that bad at all.
@@TheGarageisFull If you haven't replaced the transfer fluid yet, I'd recommend replacing it.
transfer case fluid
@ It’s on the list.
Great job on a comprehensive video! What filter wrench did you use for the engine oil filter? I picked up a 64mm oil filter wrench from a local auto parts shop, but I am not happy with the way it grips the filter.
Thank you for watching. I've been using this oil filter wrench that I showed in the video since 2019 when we got the car. I don't remember the brand. I just checked the wrench and it doesn't have any brand name on it. The only markings it has "B" and MADE IN USA. I know it's 64mm 14 flute. It works great for the installation of the filter, and having the white mark on it helps a lot. It doesn't have a tight grip, but in most cases I'm able to unscrew the filter with it. Sometimes when I have a stubborn filter, as you can see in the video, then I use the oil filter wrench pliers. Those pliers work 100% for filter removal.
Looks good 👍
