anywhere you recommend fishing in Workington?
What line are you using with the rod?
@@rangerwhite5165 Airflo rage shooting head
Brilliant 👏
It should be compulsory for all salmon anglers in the age of catch and release, to carry a landing net.
@@rodneykaye9399 Yes I agree, if you listened to the video you’ll hear me say I’d forgotten mine on this particular session. Although I don’t think this fish will of came to any harm & swam away strong
Cracking fish, well done 👍
👌🏻
Salmon are awesome. It’s too bad they are so dependent on water temperatures and water levels. We have had one of the driest summers on record and there basically wasn’t a salmon season this year yet.
C t ! 👍
@@MrAdybop You know it 😉
Acrobatic 🎣
The tug is the drug 🎣
Brilliant 👍👍
Big fishy
Well done what fly's and what depth were you fishing ?
@@brianramsay6866 just using an intermediate tip, with a small fly as the river was fairly low, one fish took a shrimp style fly & the other took a collie dog variant
Cwor! That's a lovely fish - well done! Great to see people still fishing the proper way and getting their reward!
Great stuff 👍, would you recommend as a beat ?.
@@chriswright2135 Depends what you are after, few lads I go with enjoy using different methods. So I just go for the crack. Definitely always fish about and in with a chance, some nice fly water and fishes other methods too. Does get a little busy with no rotation so I find you get people hogging the hot spots. Definitely worth a go though to see what you think for yourself
@@Cumbrianangler cheers, it looks like decent spinning water
Mound and top of Box's 👍 Earlier river than it used to be, good bit of water . You got a 'take ' on vid ,better than boring one on Derwent or somewhere 🤣👍 👍👍
@@ROAD658 boxes and wilkies
@@Cumbrianangler yea ,I stand corrected, first one Wilkies 👍 Had a few there. Well done 👍
Nice one Dean…nothing better than a bit of chrome to brighten a dreary day😊
Brilliant mate, some season you’re having 🎣👏
Early release hey, shame .
Great stuff from northern Ireland.nice getting on the flies
Good work man. Liked and subscribed to the channel. Keep them coming and good luck.
I would say that was a salmon
@@garyrobertson9534 Salmon/grilse are the same species, smaller fish like this have only had 1 winter out at sea so are referred to grilse
@@Cumbrianangler I know they’re the same species mate. I’m saying that’s big enough to be referred to as a salmon 😂
@@garyrobertson9534 Definitely a grilse, about 5lb
@@Cumbrianangler we use to get regular 20 lbs + salmon out our local river many years ago. Now we’re lucky to hit a double figure one so now what was once known as a grilse are getting called salmon. Sad times 😢
@@garyrobertson9534 so they probably ain’t staying out at sea for multiple winters now, would seem strange to get a multi winter fish and not be near double figures, maybe sending a scale off for sampling would give you some answers
Beautiful fish well done
Thats a cracking fresh fish for September. The river looks high, is that CAA water ?
@@markj3853 The video was posted in September, I didn’t catch it in September I rarely post a fish the same sort of time 👍
Ha. Still a lovely fresh fish though. I understand why.
Dean!
Stunning dead
What river ?
Absolute cracker that well done , what fly did the trick??
Cracking fish. Nice to see Cumbrian waters still kicking up the odd decent fish.
Nice catch.
What size you reckon mate I got 18 to 20 the other day 🔥
@@Macaulaynorwood1 Well done, that’s a good fish 👍🎣
Tree-mendous
@@jontyhalcrow 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm not having you're catching these somewhere in West Cumbria. I've been wanting to learn how to fish and most local spots are telling me there's no point because there's not much in the waters.
plenty of fish aboot

@@isaacbell. 🤣
I got a nice big fish to reel in, so I will get out my phone out and text somebody.
@@SkullBanker-68 Actually a video to send to someone 👍
Why the negative comment? Nothing other than jealousy one would suspect.
Tidy , was looking at one today
Another cracker pal , 👍 what rod is it you're using there ?

Cracking fish, well done!! Sweat was breaking on me when the netsman started scooping from behind!! Ended well though!
@@davidolphert6053 As was mine! Could’ve ended differently that 🤣
Heart in my mouth with the landing of it.. cracking fish
@@stiofain4693 You weren’t the only one 😅
Cracker - the netsman made me nervous! 😂🤦♂️
Cracker what river?
Is that on the Calder?
such a fish 👍👍🎣
Fantastic sir, a beauty of a fish indeed. Well done!
Cracking fish Dean🎉
Cracking fish Deano, like the new reel and rod choice. I'm a Guidline fan, still got my 14foot out of Production 'Le Cei' my go to rod when conditions suit. Many have had problems with sections snapping but mines still casting like new 12 years on. Great to see my childhood rivers getting a resurgence, your river and next catchment down having cracking season as are some of the rivers further north. Can't wait to get back up!
The reel will sing 🎵 🎣 🐋
