Updated look on my 1993 Suzuki katana gsxf 600 project
I bought some used oem fairings and seats that were in way better condition than my original set. I got a used windscreen and I am hoping to eventually restore the fairings to look brand new.

I got there a bit late and wasn’t able to get all of the cars that were originally there sorry about that.
Rudimentary way to make sure your clutch is engaging on a 1993 Suzuki katana 600

This is definitely not the correct way to do this but it worked for me and someone i helped online.

This one is a bit short as by the time I was able to finish filming most of the cars had left.

This video has a very abrupt cut and it’s because my phone overheated and shut itself down on me. I had to go inside and wait for it to cool down, and while I was doing that a majority of the cars left.

My phone actually overheated in the middle of filming these videos so I wasn’t actually able to get all of it. However there were at least 100 cars there.
Unpopular opinion but the Suzuki katana gsxf 600 is actually a good motorcycle.

I forgot to mention in the video but the engine in these motorcycles are actually detuned Suzuki gsxr 750 engines from the 80s. Which you can actually take the heads and cams plus springs etc and put it on the Katana 600cc motor. Which is called a dot swap. That’s probably mostly all I forgot to mention.

By good what is it exactly that you mean? I mean it's too damn slow, but, very dependable as long as it doesn't sit for long periods cause that wrecks the carbs.
Have you put bigger jets in your motorcycle or even tried modifying one its pretty quick once you've done some bolt ons and put a full exhaust and pod filters. I like it for what it is. I also mentioned in the video that it wasn't a fast motorcycle, so I get what you're saying with it being slow, but it's my first motorcycle and for me its plenty quick. its a very good motorcycle for what it does and what it was inteded for at the time.
@@hotspankamencrew6861 Only probably around 300 + times over the course of 47 years. Changing jets is not the issue. Dialing it in can be challenging. If this is your first motorcycle you clearly have a zero reference for what is a good motorcycle to begin with. We all have our riding styles and the Katana 600 is a girlie bike in my humble opinion. I did own one, ONCE. Rescued a barn find with very low mileage, refreshed damn near everything on it, Brakes, Forks and seals, brake calipers, and master cylinders with a titanium wrapped exhaust pipes and new braided brake lines. I put 1700 into a bike I got for 1500 and sold it taking a loss of $1200 just to get rid of it. Katana's here in the USA are sort of like riding a moped. My sport bikes get up and go far better and that is my last katana adventure EVER.
okay you’re really going to that kind of gate keeper. First off this is a barn find motorcycle, and second off I’ve done all of the work on it. When I first got it there were wires hanging the gas tank was missing the carbs looked like hell, engine was seized so I used marvel mystery oil to unseize it, so I rebuilt and bought everything on it.There were like three things that I didn’t have the tools for that had to be done at a shop. Thirdly I was given it for free I didn't have the luxury of buying a super fast motorcycle, and clearly you didn’t do your research very well cause it wasn’t marked as a race bike or gsxr its a gsxf. I have been working with limited information on my motorcycle because everything is really hard to find parts for it and the information on the internet is very old not only that but the one forum that I had been visiting got shut down. The fact that you have the nerve to comment on the video this late tells me that you really don’t care about anything in the motorcycle community and would rather be a loser who just points a laughs at everyone else who is getting started on motorcycles. For your information it is a good motorcycle it was meant as a sport touring not sport bike and it got stuck being compared to other sport bikes when they clearly had a gsxr at the time.
NO NO NO NO NO YOU DO NOT INSERT A SCRIBE TOOL INTO THE JET FACE TO TAP IT OUT. REMOVE BOTH PARTS OF THE JET FROM THE HOLE TO EXPOSE THE THREADS IN THE CENTER YOU NEED TO WORK WITH. USE A METRIC SCREW AND IF i REMEMBER CORRECTLY ITS A 5MM X 16MM (20 MM WORKS TOO i JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE 16 AT MY SHOP) LENGTH AND YA SCREW IT INTO THE THREAD OF THE SLIDE AND GENTLY TAP IT OUT AND YES LUBRICATION DOES HELP. THE SLIDE IS PLASTIC SO GORILLA GRIP OR GORILLA 5 LB SLEDGE IS NOT THE TOOL TO USE. TAP IT GENTLY AND WIGGLE IT BACK AND FORTH. I HAD TO DO THIS ON A SET i HAD THAT WERE VERY DIRTY AND GUMMED UP.
well for starters, I didn't have the things you mentioned. I was on a tight budget and it ended up working in the end, but thanks for the information.
I'm trying to get mine running. I gotta do some carb cleaning and also the tank. I have the gold color katana 600. Looks really sweet. I've had mine since 2001.
I have a 1997 Suzuki Katana 600 and I left mine in the garage for 3 yrs with over a 1\2 tank of gas and yeah, my dumb self is now out in the garage cleaning my rusted tank and freeing up the throttle and having to take the carbs off and doing some spring cleaning. Dam it ticks me off that I'd neglect my baby like that. DAM!.......dam, dam!
Thank you!!! These bst carbs are so fricken fussy
I'm restoring a 750 K model Katana right now. It's a beast no matter what the haters say.
heck yeah good luck with that.
You can see the Katana 600 racing here: ua-cam.com/video/_puvc7haT4o/v-deo.html
Bro is a god send from heaven my exact two problems and for some reason my drain tube is leaking out a bunch of gas
Is it your drain tube on your air box or the drain bolts on the bottom of the carb
Drain tube on the air box
Lost almost my whole tank ever since I filled it up
Slowly drips
Petcock is also off
Where could I find an exhaust like this?
Links in the description
Also on eBay
I love you
I know your frustration man!!
0:05 ok
Ok
Thanks might check back over mine. I have a 01 750 and it ran perfectly fine until I decided to clean the jets and bowls out. I put it back together and immediately had issues with either a high idle, refusing to idle, or once warmed up it wouldn’t idle after cut off.. I went through everything again, re synced the carbs, checked the jets, adjusted idle screw, re placed the needles ect and the problems still there.. i know its a air issue since i have to over adjust the idle screw crazy high, lower the floats, or cover the air box to keep it running. Problem is once I get it running decent again the next day i have to redo everything again cause it resets to how it was
Yeah turns out I had two issues going on this one that I talked about in the video and the other was the pilot jet idle circuit was clogged up even though I had cleaned it with a carburetor dip and scrubbed it. It still was clogged and the only way I found out was when I brought it to the shop to get some work done that I couldn’t do, cause I didn’t have the tools to do so. They told me that my pilot jet was clogged and that they couldn’t get it to idle properly, so I told them that they could clean it up and it completely fixed the idle issue and they were able to properly synchronize the carburetors.
Where was this at?
Groves Texas
Kings auto care in Groves, TX
Kinda having the same issue but just a high idle. Tuned in to see what you did and gave me some idea's to try. Thanks for posting
Your welcome
Turns out it was a combination of that and the pilot jets circuits had re-clogged on me which caused it to not idle properly. I had it at the shop and they said the pilots needed to be cleaned so I had them do it and it fixed the issue. But i do wanna say that the issue that I fixed on it in this current video was very much a real issue it was having.
Hoye para la proxima gravate el las nachas
Very nice
That’s a ‘69
What’s the max speed on it?
Supposed to be 130 mph from what I’ve read online however I have seen a video online that seemed legitimate where the rider managed to hit 145 mph. Then again who knows how much the speedometer was off but it seemed like he was definitely going that fast. Currently the way my motorcycle is set up after getting it back from the shop with all the work they did to it; it is very quick for me then again I am still new to riding so this is my first motorcycle.
Good race, it was close...
CRX definitely one of my all time favorites
That is a 5 series not 3
Who won?
Yes
The Supra.
It's not worthy Anymore
CAMARO
Whatever dude
Bring it to a takeover
Scared of it 😂
Nah it’s just loud plus it wasn’t running properly, at the time of the video.
Also I wasn’t about to go all out down my friends street. Plus I’m still learning how to ride it.
Don't like these religious nuts.
Yo it’s Aaron Pitre, cool channel!
'promosm' 🔥
Good job, nibba!
Whats mods on both vehicles?
I know that the Kia forte has a bigger intercooler turbo intake and a catted race exhaust. It is also tuned on 93 I think. As for the truck it’s got a 6.0l engine with a bigger cam I think it has a Holley high rise intake with ported heads and a 3.5 inch exhaust it’s on slicks also tuned, but I’m still not sure I’ll ask them next time I see them.
@@hotspankamencrew6861 wow! Good run for sure. That truck is insane. The kia forte is a great car for the price 👍.
@@Suckmyring yeah it’s is a very good car for the price also during the race he told me before it happened that the car had a bit of an issue with either the blow off valve or a boost leak.
CANT HERE U
Dude you must be deaf and can’t spell.
This helped me so much man. Thank You!
This video is great!
What a great video!
Could not agree more!
Did I feel any difference in acceleration?
yes there was a difference in acceleration, it woke up his car.
You sure you have a downpipe? Probably quiet because no front pipe
No it has a front pipe and a down piece
It’s just quiet because of the stock exhaust
Kind of quiet for a catted downpipe
any better fuel, performance power can you tell. and is it still on.
Yes it did pick up in power because it is located right where the original intake was sucking from. My fuel mileage did increase a little bit. Yes the intake is still on
Where does that hose connect to at the other end???
It connects all the way in the back right hand side of the intake manifold. It’s a little bit past the throttle body
@@hotspankamencrew6861 thank you
You are welcome
Mine has the 4.7, and I have 250000 miles on it. If you take good care it will last a long time. I recommend B&G flush for the transmission......
That my baby truck in the video
Where at?
It was at cars and coffee at twin peaks
In Beaumont
Here is a link to wish with a similar looking exhaust it’s the same size just different way to remove the baffler. www.wish.com/product/5a8d2c9b2ef5516438aa9db3?from_ad=goog_shopping&_display_country_code=US&_force_currency_code=USD&pid=googleadwords_int&c=%7BcampaignId%7D&ad_cid=5a8d2c9b2ef5516438aa9db3&ad_cc=US&ad_lang=EN&ad_curr=USD&ad_price=32.99&hide_login_modal=true&share=mobileweb Also this second link is probably the actual exhaust www.amazon.co.uk/uxcell®-Motorcycle-Exhaust-Silencer-Muffler/dp/B01B7NZWOM I actually bought mine on eBay and they only had one exhaust left so I got really lucky with my purchase.
What kind of exhaust is that

This is a link to wish. The exhaust on the websites looks almost exactly like mine. The only difference is mine has 4 bolts to remove the baffles this one only has one it looks like. However the dimensions are the same and the color is the same as mine in one of the pictures. Also I got mine off eBay and the guy had only one left in stock so I got lucky.
What type of exhaust is that?
Thanks and I will check out your channel
