Any "ultralight" that has an engine with more the 40HP is NOT an ultralight in the USA btw. Of course, there is a thriving market in after market engine boosting kits!.... 🙂

Any ultralight that has more than one seat is no longer considered an Ultralight. It becomes an experimental aircraft By US Regulation . Other countries may have other ideas . The Belite Chipper in not an Ultralight . It has 2 seats, weighs more then 250lbs and has way more horsepower then a legal ultralight. generally 25 to 30 hp is legal but some people seem to get away with 40 hp. doing so may get you a very expensive fine. The Definition of an ultralight in the United States is a lot different from other countries. add a extra seat, more horsepower and weigh , You leave the Ultralight class and become a Experimental class aircraft and you will need a minimum class Sport Pilots license, to even carry a passenger. get caught flying anything with 2 seats , and your busted! If you want to take a passenger , Take Them Hang Gliding. this video is dangerously deceptive. FAA walks up to you and says Hi I'm so&so and id like to talk with you. Your Busted!
