No need to be scared! We’re only in competition with ourselves. Plus, this was a scotch doubles match..I wouldn’t have known how to play that if I wasn’t coached on it prior to taking the leap of faith 😅

Thank you! In that moment I remembered a particular conversation I recently had with my coach where we talked about how there aren’t necessarily “right shots” in pressure situations. There’s the textbook “right” way of playing a shot but depending on how you feel/the equipment/environment/other factors etc., it might not be the winning strategy in that moment. Here I thought...okay I can try to draw the cue ball out for shape on the 8 (I think that's the "right" shot), but that might also make me miss it. So I decided to just make it, center ball, and take the longer shot on the 8. That was the “right” way to play that shot for my skill level in that moment. After I practice the draw shot more and can consistently execute it, then I can take that approach the next time I see the opportunity in a match.

I love both! When I started playing on my first league team in 2015 I played on bar boxes, but the very next season I joined a 2nd team that played on the 9footers out of this pool hall. So I like both and I’m comfortable on both but I mostly practice on the 9footers

Yes! Thank you so much! It took everything in me not to count myself out in this one. I. just tried to let go of my mistakes when they happened and stay objective. I also would repeat my affirmations to myself when sitting in my chair - "You are prepared." "You are capable." "You can do hard things." Etc. 😅 it worked!

@@gabbers143 damm, you could’ve won the whole thing….honest to God I thought you were better than every player you played…keep it up…I would practice putting inside and outside English on the ball low high and middle…see how outside English throws it left etc because you shoot very straight…..thanks for the entertainment I enjoyed watching.
