    1 year with no oil change with how many miles? Or did i hear 5000 miles in 1 year?

    • @512TXSDIY
      @512TXSDIY 3 дні тому

      All my cars I do 5,000 miles or twice a year, whichever comes first. This was my first time doing annual out of curiosity because I felt I was doing the oil changes way before it was even due and seemed wasteful. What do you think?

  • @HoleLeeAutomotive-rb2qs
    @HoleLeeAutomotive-rb2qs 3 дні тому

    I do annual, but I drive the Cayman barely 2k miles a year. How much gasoline I smell in the depleted oil tells me a lot about my own habits and I would consider a 6 month if it was really strong. At the end of the day, oil is cheaper than a new engine

    • @512TXSDIY
      @512TXSDIY 3 дні тому

      How are you smelling the oil before hand or do you mean when you’re doing the change for next time? I normally do 2 a year or every 5,000 miles. This was my first time doing 1 year service out of curiosity and it looked great. I drive it maybe 4,000 miles a year though so I’m sure that is a consideration as well.

    • @HoleLeeAutomotive-rb2qs

      Smell the drained oil for gas and can definitely tell which car has been contaminated (hybrids get it quickly). Yes for next time. I'm generally really good about not doing short trips and fast warm up. I have a vortex drain valve so I could drain an analysis sample easily. I use amsoil signature 0-40w in moderate/hot climate since I have enough cars I can group buy for myself once a year.

    Good video, I have it a thumbs up, but gotta admit I was a little concerned with you using an impact with a non impact rated socket. Glad you got the job done without it grenading on you. My 2013 Prius is @ 189k and I’m doing the whole front end. I just wasnt sure if it was the drivers or passengers side that needed jacked up, and my being too comfortable to go out and crawl under and check. lol. Thanks again.

    This was a great video and a great help. CarSyncTech makes their own video but yours is much more detailed and paced more slowly to make it easy to follow. There isn't a whole lot of good info on this unit and your video helped me decide to go ahead and purchase it. My install went pretty smoothly except for one of those tabs that hold down one of the ribbon cables sprang loose and detached when I tried to lock in the new cable. it took a lot of patience to reattach it properly. I do wish they had provided a bracket to mount the XM box below the decoder, but I'm unlikely to miss it. Again, great job on the video.

      Correct and it is not required. You can do this in your drive way in under 2 minutes with 1 tool or a flat blade screwdriver. SUPER EASY!

      There should be a usb wire that connects to the rear. That is the port you would use for software updates.
