    this message highlights a troubling aspect of belief in divine mercy: the idea that God arbitrarily chooses who receives compassion and mercy, regardless of personal actions or choices. This raises concerns about fairness and moral responsibility. Justice and compassion should be based on merit and actions, not on divine whims. People are responsible for their own choices, and it doesn’t make sense to rely on a system where mercy is distributed without reason or accountability.

    • @Savedsmile
      @Savedsmile 20 днів тому

      Uh, nobody said we rely on a system like that... matter a fact, God isn't a system, he's a personal being. What this is message is really highlighting is the fact that God knows who's going to serve him, and whos not. And judging from this comment, you clearly haven't read the Bible, nor know God personally. God is all Just as well, that's why he created a place called hell. Once you sin, you're in debt to God, and you owe him what he gave you. That's what Jesus came for, to pay the sin debt & be the reason we're saved in the first place.

      @@Savedsmile Before discussing whether God is a system or a personal being, the existence of God must be established through evidence. Personal experiences and interpretations of religious texts, while meaningful to individuals, don't constitute objective proof of a deity. The concept of omniscience, where God knows everything, including who will follow him, raises philosophical issues about free will. If God knows our actions in advance, can we genuinely make free choices? For someone who doesn't believe in God, the argument that we are predetermined to follow or not follow a divine plan feels irrelevant, as it assumes the existence of a being whose existence has not been demonstrated. I have read the Bible, and have critically examined its claims. Personal experience with or belief in God doesn't change the demand for rational evidence. My rejection of religious belief is not due to ignorance of scripture but stems from a critical analysis that leads to disbelief. The idea of divine justice, particularly the existence of hell as punishment for sin, can be problematic from a moral and philosophical perspective. If God is omnibenevolent (all-good), the notion of eternal punishment for finite actions raises questions about the proportionality and fairness of such a system. Thus we can reject the idea of hell as it is inconsistent with concepts of justice and mercy. You are assuming a specific religious framework (Christianity) where sin is defined as a violation of God's will. Morality doesn't necessarily rely on divine commands, and the concept of being "in debt to God" is not compelling, as it assumes the existence of a deity whose moral authority is not recognized. Ethical systems can be built on human well-being, empathy, and societal cooperation, without the need for divine punishment or reward. The doctrine of atonement, where Jesus’ sacrifice redeems humanity's sins, is central to Christian belief but doesn’t resonate with me as I have no choice to see it as mythological. Morality and responsibility are personal and social matters, not something that requires cosmic intervention. The notion of being saved presupposes the need for salvation, which, without belief in original sin or divine judgment, seems unnecessary.

      @AnotherViewer I heavily disagree with your first point, especially considering the fact that I have experiences with God himself. Not only that, but the universe itself is evidence of a creator. Now, this second point you have made is actually a very common argument against theists, but I think it's incredibly weak. Firstly, us Christians don't believe in predestination, we believe we all have free will & choice. If I'm watching a basketball game & I know Steph is gonna shoot a 3 'cause I already know whats gonna happen. I've seen the game before. With that being said though, God already knows what your family is going to do tomorrow. And he knew what Jeffery Dahmer was gonna do, doesn't mean he made him do it. Just because someone knows something is going to happen doesn't mean they made it happen. That third point is just you truly not studying history + the Bible. The OT has a BUUUUUNCH of history in it & we're making archeological historical evidences today that surprisingly to skeptics support the Bible. Your fourth point is you just limiting God to support your argument. Whos you, a Human, to say because God is "all-good", he cannot punish sin? Matter a fact, judging from his character, justice is good. Mercy is good. Love is good. And besides, sin is seperate from God, meaning God literally cannot sin. And because God is all good, then that makes sin evil. Not saying that sin is a God obviously, but moreso of the fact that sin is taking something that God gave us, and twisting it into something entirely different. I also see that you're trying to dodge the fact that I'm going off of a Christian doctrine, but there is no other way I could put it into perspective for you while being intellectually consistant. And you can believe what you want to believe, but I know for a fact that both of us are going to have to stand before an all-knowing God on judgement day.

      @@Savedsmile "I heavily disagree with your first point, especially considering the fact that I have experiences with God himself. Not only that, but the universe itself is evidence of a creator." While personal experiences can be powerful for the individual, they aren't necessarily verifiable for others. Other people of other religions also make this same claim, but for other gods that you probably do not believe in. As for the universe, while it may provoke questions about origins, attributing it to a specific creator without conclusive evidence remains a matter of belief rather than empirical proof. "Now, this second point you have made is actually a very common argument against theists, but I think it's incredibly weak. Just because someone knows something is going to happen doesn't mean they made it happen." The analogy of watching a basketball game you've already seen isn't quite the same as God's omniscience. If God is the creator of everything-including the rules of the game, the players, and even the time in which the game occurs-then it's not merely a case of knowing the outcome. God would have designed the game, chosen the players, and set the conditions that lead to every decision. This raises the question: can free will truly exist if God not only knows but also created the entire structure within which every choice is made? If God's knowledge is absolute and unchangeable, it suggests that all events are predetermined by His design, which challenges the concept of genuine free will. "That third point is just you truly not studying history + the Bible. The OT has a BUUUUUNCH of history in it & we're making archeological historical evidences today that surprisingly to skeptics support the Bible." While some historical findings may align with biblical narratives, the Bible is not universally regarded as a comprehensive historical document. Moreover, not all its claims can be independently verified or corroborated by archaeological evidence. "Your fourth point is you just limiting God to support your argument. " The issue isn't necessarily about God's ability to punish sin but whether the concept of eternal punishment or suffering is compatible with the notion of an all-loving deity. Additionally, the definition of "sin" itself varies across different cultures and worldviews, making it less universally self-evident. "I also see that you're trying to dodge the fact that I'm going off of a Christian doctrine, but there is no other way I could put it into perspective for you while being intellectually consistant. And you can believe what you want to believe, but I know for a fact that both of us are going to have to stand before an all-knowing God on judgement day." The claim that everyone will face judgment before the Christian God is based on a specific religious worldview that isn't universally accepted. Other religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism, have their own distinct teachings about the afterlife, judgment, and the nature of divinity, many of which are incompatible with Christian doctrine. For instance, Islam teaches that judgment will be before Allah, while Hinduism and Buddhism involve concepts like reincarnation and karma, rather than a final judgment day. This raises the issue of which, if any, religious framework is correct. Since each religion offers different and often contradictory visions of the afterlife, the certainty of Christian judgment day remains a belief rooted in Christian doctrine, rather than an established or universally recognized fact. Therefore, it is not clear why one should accept the Christian version of events over others, especially without compelling evidence.

      @@AnotherViewer Honestly, we can go back and forth every other day or what not, but I suggest doing more research, especially considering God's omniscence... just because you know something doesn't mean you made it happen. You destroyed your own argument without me even having to respond to you. This shows your ignorance towards the topic, and if we continue we'd just be going in a circle.
