    With respect, the line doesn't need to go through the hook eye at all when using a regular snell to tie onto straight-shank hooks, so there's no rubbing on the end of the eye anyway.

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast Місяць тому

      Thanks for the comment ! Really appreciate it ! And you are absolutely correct . However the reason why we thread the line through the eye (side where the hook point is) to allow a better hook up when striking meaning you will pull the hook point against the fish’s mouth . If that makes sense :)

      @@Fishingknotsfast Sure does, thanks. I know the correct way to snell a circle hook is to do that too.

    • @ShorrockPaul
      @ShorrockPaul 19 днів тому

      @Fishingknotsfast actually the line on a circle hook should be in line with the shank. This idea of going through the eye to create an angle is false.. you go through the eye of the octopus type of hook because it is bent back so line exits in line with shank... with straight eye either don't go through the eye or use a regular above eye hook.. palomar double uni etc.. I emailed Gamakatsu specifically on this because of all the misleading / conflicting opinions on the internet... This is their reply... quote : Typically for a straight eye hook a standard knot works best. Palomar, Double Uni knot or others you may be familiar with.

    • @tuberider1171

    • @ShorrockPaul
      @ShorrockPaul 57 хвилин тому

      @tuberider1171 this is entire email conversation : Dear sir, When using a straight eye (NOT bent back eye) circle hook. Which is the best knot to use I have been told that the line should pull straight in line with the hook and not at an angle , which would happen if I snelled a straight eye circle hook and passed line through the straight eye. REPLY: Typically for a straight eye hook a standard knot works best. Palomar, Double Uni knot or others you may be familiar with. Thanks,

    Sans mettre d'agrafe c'est une perte de fil a force de couper pour changer de leurres

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast 2 місяці тому

      Merci pour votre commentaire ! Effectivement, le nœud en boucle peut entraîner une légère perte de fil si l’on change souvent de leurre. Une bonne alternative pourrait être d’utiliser un émerillon ou une agrafe pour économiser du fil tout en gardant une bonne présentation. Cependant, la raison pour laquelle certains pêcheurs préfèrent un nœud en boucle sans émerillon est que la présentation du leurre est souvent bien meilleure sans accessoire supplémentaire. Bonnes pêches !

    That doesn't seem like a blook knot (?). Also, didn't that take ~2x as long? I guess, maybe when you get good at using the straw, it will go faster?

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast 2 місяці тому

      First of all thanks so much for watching our video(s)! you are right in that the second knot is not the traditional BLOOD Knot as one would deemed based on how the knot is tied. It is a version of a blood knot considering how the lines are bleeding into the opposing line. The demo was slowed down for fellow fishios who may need the time to follow the steps.. but yes the idea behind it is not the speed but the ease of tying and most importantly the robustness of the knot compared to the conventional Blood. Thanks!!

    After the last turn, aren't you supposed to pass it through the bottom larger hole first before passing through the smaller hole on the opposite side?

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching our video!! And appreciate your comment! For a standard Eugene or Pitzen you do not pass it through the bottom loop against the hook eye this is so that the returning tag holds the wraps snugly and you can cinch it really well especially for mono or FCs, if you were to run it through the bottom loop first it doesn’t cinch well because the knot when pulled against the hook eye locks the line and over multiple use it gets loosen and may come undone … for light lines and braid it should work well though in my opinion

    • @АлександрНазаренко-ж6ъ
      @АлександрНазаренко-ж6ъ 2 місяці тому

      @@Fishingknotsfast сложнее будет заправить в трубку. Если еще при этом плоховато со зрением. Намного проще попасть в простую петлю образующуюся при намотке лески чем в трубочку

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast 2 місяці тому

      Хорошее замечание! Продеть петлю действительно проще, особенно в условиях плохого освещения или когда имеешь дело с тонкой леской. Простой вариант с базовыми петлями может сэкономить много времени и избавить от лишних проблем! Но большие петли иногда перекрывают друг друга при затягивании узла, так что оба варианта работают, но требуют немного ловкости, ха-ха!

    • @Fishingknotsfast
      @Fishingknotsfast 3 місяці тому

      Thanks for watching our videos ! I’d say no knot is completely immune to slipping under all conditions. Although designed to be very secure and is less likely to slip compared to some other knots, especially when tied correctly. However, factors such as the type of line, the load applied, and the conditions in which the knot is used can impact its performance. This added friction of the second loop holds the first loop stopping any slippage ..

      Hey thanks for the comment and suggestion. In my view using two split rings might not be a good idea. First, it creates more potential failure points where if one ring fails, you could lose the fish or even the lure. Second, it can reduce hook set efficiency since the extra movement might prevent the hook from penetrating as deeply. It can also mess with the lure's action, making it less effective at attracting fish. Plus, there’s an increased risk of tangles during casting or retrieving, and the added weight might affect the lure’s balance or sink rate, especially on smaller lures.

    Great job! I’ve been doing this on big glide baits only I don’t loop mine but I think your way may be better…this is also a good way to reuse old discarded braid that I’ve found on the bank while fishing. Only thing I would add is that I melt the tag end with a lighter to seal the knot. Thanks!

      @@Fishingknotsfast This some kind of joke, right? I've never had a fish shake off a jerkbait and most of them are hooked on the rear hook, not the belly.
