United States
Приєднався 23 кві 2021
An anti-library are all the books you have not read. The current unread books, and books yet to be written. There are far more books that have not been read or even written, than those which a reader has read. This anti-library is dedicated to helping readers find books to add to their library.

Beautiful book. Easy flow.
What did you think of the contents of the book?
Is this an AI?
No, why do you ask?
Okay
Are you interest in physics or ralated topic?
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary both
Which books on physics have you read?
I see 'liberty' is used a lot. I wonder how differently the book would read if the term 'self-determination' were used.
In this case, liberty is in contrast to leaders seeking universalism. Liberty would be people self-determining their own values, rather than having values imposed on by a totalitarian leader.
Yep, the reward thing just motivates people who are narcissists who like gold stars. In school, I freaking hated that stupid reward crap. In work too.. if my pay is linked to performance, I'll cut corners and not enjoy it. Why does capitalism constantly promote this idiotic incentive system? Remember how they took the second worst ebola drug, remdesevir for COVID? Right, incentives and profits give us absolute garbage.
Reward and punishment are the popular method to incentivize, the assumption is that it's true. Alternative ways to incentivize people take time to become assimilated.
It's funny how Naomi Klein warned us with her book The Shock Doctrine only to promote the medical security state promoted by the shock of COVID. 😂
That is an interesting observation. Did Klein write about the issue?
@@inquiryfromanantilibraryshe was pro following authority during covid and called out anyone who questioned lockdowns and the shots as crazy conspiracists lol lol She even wrote a book called Doppelganger about Naomi Wolf , criticizing Wolf and others for questioning authority with cv19
In part, from The Shock Doctrine, Klein criticized how government privatized many public functions. Which implies wanting government to retake public functions. Maybe the behavior you observed is consistent, as Klein wanted government to have a larger role. Just in case, The Shock Doctrine was mostly against privatization. Maybe this is a case of an author's bias gone too far?
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary it was privatized.... Pfizer Moderna got billions... Ppp loans that didn't need to get paid back went to Amazon and other big companies... Mass testing fed testing industries. It was a shock doctrine situation and she went along with it and belittled those that questioned it.
Loved your reviews. Can you recommend some more scientist biography ?
Recommendation depends on what you are interested in learning about (and what books I read). Can reference two biography books, but up to you to decide. (Blog link next to them) 1) Kepler's Witch: An Astronomer's Discovery of Cosmic Order Amid Religious War, Political Intrigue, and the Heresy Trial of His Mother by James A. Connor (This one is more history related.)(www.inquiryreviews.com/2020/11/review-of-keplers-witch-astronomers.html) 2) "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!": Adventures of a Curious Character by Richard P. Feynman (This one focuses more on the scientist's personality rather than the science)(www.inquiryreviews.com/2022/05/review-of-surely-youre-joking-mr.html) Two additional notes: 1) There is a book club event for this book. Link listed in the description. 2) This book was about tech, such as development of the computer. There is another book about the topic, which also has a book club event. Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology by Chris Miller (www.inquiryreviews.com/2023/12/review-of-chip-war-fight-for-worlds.html)
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary Thanks a ton for the recommendation. I have read Feynman book and was thinking about reading chip war. Anyways I will surely read your blog.
Join the book club discussions to hear what others think about the books.
I wish I could understand the book and then simplify it for mere mortals. Lmao!
Think this book is like the quantum physics of economics, finance.
Ok, i understand. Can you share some other books or authors that are in the same background comparing the past and future, with the discussed analogy of credit (debt) becoming equity. Because i think this is the main crux of the book which the author could more romantically simplify. What do you think?
@@qanishque Have not read a similar book combining quantum physics and economics, but The Origin of Wealth does have similar themes although without the same focus.
Thanks for the great review. It seems like he's still worried about social media disinformation while gladly ignoring the disinformation pushed by big industries like big pharma. We learned that lesson only after having been lied to about "trust the science".
I think that is a good interpretation of the problem this book is focusing on, misinformation caused by social media. Other books, like Science Fictions, focus on the problems with what Jonathan Rauch calls reality-based communities.
terrible video
Quality of video, or content discussed? Thank you for the feedback.
Haha the 2020 p@ndemic showed many of us that a lot of what they tell us is science is indeed fiction. They also sold us dangerous things to deal with a hyped up normal illness.
The misinformation about pandemic and other illnesses, is caused by hype and other sources, that reduce the trust people have in scientists and science.

Thank you
Great review
Thank you for appreciating the video. Are you interested in the philosophy of science?
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary yes. Kuhn’s Structure of scientific revolutions in next on my list.
Have not yet read that book, and it is on my list as well. Just in case, I have a blog list of books that is about the philosophy of science: www.inquiryreviews.com/p/what-makes-science-science.html

Is this a reply from an artificial intelligence?
Thank you. I am the author, Carol Ann Bassett. Sadly, since my book was published about 25 years ago, conservation in the Galapagos hasn't made many big strides. Still too many tourists and still more financial greed than planning to protect them.
Thank you writing this book, the update you have provided, and appreciating the video. Based on the book, finding alternative employment opportunities for those in the tourist industry is a step for conservation efforts.
Thanks a lot for the recomendation! If I may give an advice : try to bring some life and emotion, you sound a bit like a robot
Thank you for appreciating the video. Good advice.
What a terrible historian she is. This is pure ideology, and has very little to do with reality.
That is interesting. Why do you think so? There are various and different sources that support these claims. How would you interpret the collectivization under Stalin?
I find some practical jokes funny. When my employer relocated to another part of the state, on the last day of work, two of of coworkers took giant rolls of clear plastic wrap and shrink wrapped some of our cars the minute we had to step away from the parking lot. They shrink wrapped my car and I thought it was hilarious; took a photo and all.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. That does seem funny. As Flow references, different people find different things funny.

Did you find the review useful to decide on the book? There is forthcoming book club event for this book. Unfortunately, I do not get paid for reviewing the books.
Genuinely like your fedora bro. It’s a shame it’s associated with reddit now
Thank you. Why is the fedora associated with reddit? Is it a meme going around?
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary yes I think so. They think that anyone who wears fedoras says stuff like m’lady etc and is a fat Redditor.
@@narsimhas1360 Thank you for letting me know. I just like hats. Cannot claim to be chauvinistic.

Great podcast! Peter’s book helped me a lot with my NVLD.
Thank you for watching the video and enjoying it.
Why Is Chrystia Freeland Still Deputy Prime Minister, When She Is on the Board of Trustee's for Klaus Schwab's WEF ?
That is a good question. Why do you think? Do you think there is a conflict of interest?
Would even make poor toilet paper.
Thank you for listening to the excerpt. Can you clarify your statement?
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary I think it is obvious.
A most un-informed review of this very authentic book which I have read five times, cover to cover. I can bet $100 that you have not read this book, cover to cover! Please be thorough, honest and objective! I don't see any of these in this review. I don't think you understand what you were saying? What was your real agenda in making this review?
Wonderful that you enjoyed the book, but you would lose the bet. Read all books completely. The purpose of the reviews are to provide some information on the book, not all the details. To help readers find books for them. Why do you think this is not an honest review? The information provided in the book review is referenced in the book.
This is like reading Klaus Schwab... She's another fascist, seeing how she enforced the con-vid biosecurity state in Canada it makes sense for her "dream" (do psychopaths dream?) Of stakeholder globalism
Why do you consider Freeland a fascist? The claim is in favor of capitalisms. Just recognizing people who misuse the economic system.
Elitist Wef freeland is a dangerous woman.
The book is not pro elites. It does try to understand them.
I love this book. Very detailed.
Wonderful that you enjoyed it. Think this book is a bit outdated. There are other books on the Mongolian Empire that share more contemporary findings and information, and are well written.
who is Red in My Name is Red?
Each chapter name is a reference to the perspective of the chapter's narrative identity. Narrative can come from an animate human, or an inanimate object. Red is a reference to a color. As for the color of what, you will need to read the book to investigate.
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary ohh i see thank you for your response, i’m half way in finishing the book, it’s crazy how every chapter is narrated by different narrators
The variety and constant changing of narrators can be distracting, but some of the narrators are the same. Some are the same but are given a different name, to prevent connection certain information until later. But it does help provide additional information for the mystery. And contain has philosophy. Is it more distracting for you, or curious, or helpful, or all the above?
Thanks man
Your welcome. If you looking for a book on cultures or similar themed books, let me know.
Nice. Thanks 😊 Good wishes from Bangladesh
Thanks, hope this review helped you pick a book that you looking for
Great review, keep up the good work. I have tried, ever since I found the audiobook, to memorize it.
Never tried to memorize books, and this book's language makes it even more difficult to memorize. Do you find memorization of books helps you? I try to apply the lessons from the books, and discuss them.
@@inquiryfromanantilibrary The depth of this specific author had me fascinated. The spectacular depths of his broad insights. He, alone it seems, brought upon the world historical influences had me feining for what he was all about. A solitary living in a rich historical epoch. A young philologist later plunged into madness left me wondering if I, like him, could understand his genius. A profound phrase of his still echoes "I may not have the key to the lock of my madness but who is to say that my key doesn't unlock the locks of others" All to say THUS SPOKE ZARATHUSTRA remains, I suppose, his most readable work. It got tracked on the entreprise of learning native german so that I could some day read him in his native tongue. As of memorizing the audiobook (certainly not the same level of effort as memorizing read phrases), I find much more facile for me. Thanks for the summary, it made me see how much of a grasp I already have about the text.
good luck!

@@MonkeyDLuffy-cm4fm Thanks for the suggestions. I will look into that book. A lot of what we know from history, is passed down from generations.
The anti IP view should be taken much more seriously. It scares me how much overwhelming evidence there is against IP, yet IP laws keep getting broader and stricter. Most people seem stuck thinking that is is an necessary evil, but it is completely unnecessary.
When things are done the same way for a long time, it is difficult to understand the alternatives and change the system. There are many concentrated powers which like the current system. Hopefully more books and ideas become prominent to further elucidate the situation and provide the alternative ways of competing with others and alternative funding sources than a monopoly.
