DeafSpace Documentary
Logline: Architectural spaces that express the acoustics of everyday life in the absence of sound.
Synopsis: We live in a world designed for people who hear. DeafSpace is an architectural project that redesigns spaces for people who don’t hear.
This documentary follows the characters of Gallaudet University’s DeafSpace Institute, as their daily interactions and narrative reveal the uniqueness of the space. The DeafSpace approach focuses on creating spaces that express connections, instead of barriers. There is an overlooked beauty in this process, offering an intimate perspective into the nature of language, community, and ways of being.

Lines, shapes, and other pretty things I saw in Scandinavia. (Captured through my nifty fifty)
Stick soft acoustic panels on the walls and ceiling. Lay carpet on the floor. Most of the echo will subside.
It's awesome when architects can openly talk about their errors. This looks like an awesome space! It will be great to read or see more feedback as the students, teachers, and staff find more quirks about what surprisingly worked, and what needed more improvements.
Thank you for sharing. I am interested to collaborate in the future.
