Jeanette, I am new to your channel. I have been interested in true crime for many years now. This case fascinated me and still does. I have read the book and watched the movie many times. Have also watched many documentaries about the case. I have to say I found your documentary very informative, well presented, and accurate. ( to what I know about the case) Have to agree with many of your points totally. I was shocked that no one would take responsibility for their actions and each downplayed their roles. The parents also were deflecting blame towards everyone else and not their own sons or daughters. I agree the girls should have been penalized as per the men. The only exception Heather S maybe. What really bothers me is I have watched newer documentaries lately and no one still will take responsibility for their actions and down play their involvements. They make it all seem it was no big deal. Bobby was no angel, but he did not deserve to be murdered. There were other ways of handling it.I thought the book and movie both were really good. Look forward to more of your material?

Thank you so much for commenting. This case has been on my list for True Crime. The fact that both the victim and the perpetrators committed unlawful acts causes us the reader/viewer to stop and think, separating this case from many of the well known ones. I agree about Heather being an exception; however, the fact she did not report to the police right away may explain her sentencing. I was shocked when I saw Alice on Dr. Drew because it reveals that she remains unfazed by her and her friend's actions. Even the interview Lisa had was also surprising. It goes to show they have not learned from their actions. In terms of videos coming up, I am trying to get my next video ready for the 23rd. Be sure to look out for it. Thank you again.

@@jeanetteromandetti Jeanette, Thank you for your prompt reply and comments appreciated. I truly meant what I said in regards to your documentary here. We seem to both agree on our thoughts on the case. It is common sense to me Yes, I saw that Dr. Drew segment. You are right Alice was unfazed and lied to her friend as it seemed.. The Lisa interview was from American Justice I believe? her face remains covered during this program? Speaking of Lisa, I believe she has a book out called '' Bound by Love''? Have you read this book Jeanette? I would really like to read this book even though it is probably BS. Do you know how I could order a copy? I am from Western Canada actually. I take it you are from the US Obviously? I will for sure to check out your new video around that time. Thanks Jeanette. Look forward to next time. Enjoy your detailed replies.

Seeing the making to this was interesting, some weird choices with the acting or maybe it was the direction or maybe it was the rush they were moving because of time and budget

That Effie was impossible to work with. Not saying Jason was any better, he was naïve at time but she’s supposed to cater to his needs. She had terrible communication skills with Jason almost seemed like she was always lying or going back on her word. The Farrelly brothers thing was so uncalled for. It makes sense why she hasn’t work much since. Jason is a genius visionary and I really respect how hard he tried to stick to his guns. Had he been able to do the things he actually set out to do and if Effie didn’t secretly hide money from him “in case of reshoots” a lot more could’ve been accomplished. Also, they would have had more time if they originally would’ve convinced him to go see the house they ended up using in person then what they initially brought up. I don’t think the outcome of this project falls on him. You could clearly tell the director was not happy with anything and said how terrifying it might turn out. It’s funny you can see some nice moments in this movie but because of the rushed scenes and lack of creative freedom he was able to take advantage of the film falls flat in a lot of areas. There’s an interview on this season that exposes the full truth and that the editing of the show was purposely intended to make Jason look like a pretentious person which is pretty unfair. Sucks the film didn’t get the proper treatment could’ve been great

If Effie hadn't saved money, they wouldn't have been able to do reshoots and they would've had to cobble stuff up to re-cut the film with ADR or something. And if Effie hadn't saved the money, it would've been wasted on a car stunt that was inconsequential to the story. And let's not forget he was offered 2 more days to shoot, but instead the director insisted on shooting this movie on film which was also inconsequential because it looks the same as film. I can't even see the grain on my TV and I have a 60 inch 4K television. At the end of the day, the director actually lacked the creativity to work within the confines he was given, and he was unwilling to compromise because he felt entitled to everything he wanted.

I'm so glad you reviewed this movie. Ironically, I watched season 4 of Project Greenlight and was throughly annoyed all the way through from Project Greenlight to The Leisure Class movie...season 4 was a cautionary lesson on Project Management dynamics and what not to do...the overall process was very schizophrenic...I fell asleep twice but finally finished the movie...I agree 100% with your review.
