I think it's 1.9 billion, rising to 2.4 b by 2024....interest don't you know. This cannot ever be paid back and we shouldn't be trying. The only answer these idiots have is to reduce services, charge us ever more for even less, so the bulk of council income can simple service the debt.

I thought many of those who were there during the past poor financial decisions are still there, including the council leader....how does anything change. Increasing charges across the board for even less service than we get today. All to service the debt that cannot be repaid. One person remarked it was an excellent speech, I see it as entering all residents into an "IVA" for the next 4 or 5 decades so we can service this debt. A debt we didn't ask for, from a council that should have been carefully using our money to provide basic services...not property speculation. We are worse off now and AMB is setting us up to be even worse off for the foreseeable future. I wonder what percentage of council tax recpts and other income, now services the debt..I would guess at 60 or 70%
