Oil filter housing gasket can leak oil on the serpentine belt and destroy it and then the belt can be pulled through the crank pulley into the engine and cause engine failure… very common fault on the e90… so change the oil seal and serpentine belt and save your engine.. parts cost £30 and it could save you £1000’s

My 11yo son just bought one of these a 1989 red 213s. Runs and drives but needs sills doing. Why the younger generation likes these is beyond me but it's a cool car for a kid to buy and thumbs up to him!

Had a bad experience with my 2013 116i, only owned it for 2/3 years and was probably the worst car I’ve ever owned. Spent 2 grand at the end of the 1st year as had fuel pump failure, had to replace both fuel pumps and 4 injectors. Just recently abs pump started playing up, meaning it would emergency stop slam on its brakes in the rain every 30 seconds at 70mph bringing it down to 45/50mph in 2 seconds as it has some dry braking system on the car, also meant brakes would stick and couldn’t have the window wipers on. So binned the car off the other day and bought a 2017 120i 2ltr turbo, hopefully my luck will change with this car. Although it’s currently at BMW getting a seatbelt sensor fixed so haven’t been able to take the car as yet, did give it about 30 minutes test drive and seemed good.

In a practical sense these cars, Mitsuibishi, Toyota, Honda the Japanese cars are reliable, good quality cars to be used as daily drivers. There is nothing wrong in driving this car. It will get you anywhere you need to go..so the purchase is top-notch!!!!

i think you will find that the target buyers for 1960s vehicles are retiring and more likely to be selling than buying. I expect you will see more coming on the market as either deceased estates or funding an aged care place.
