Your "Brand New" Car Isn't Perfect - Here's Why 💡
❓ Have you ever had a customer tell you their new car is perfect when they call you to inquire about your services & pricing?
❓ Have you ever had a customer say they just bought a car, and when you ask if there are any blemishes their reply is, "it's brand new!"
💭 Are you a customer that gets frustrated when professional shops always ask to see your vehicle in-person for an assessment before giving you the price?
I hate to break it to you, but just because your vehicle is "brand new" doesn't mean it's perfect. In fact, they're often littered with defects, blemishes, and occasionally hidden/inconspicuous damage. 😞
Even new vehicles are susceptible to blemishes & damage caused from:
▪️Factory defects
▪️Sitting in the factory's parking lot waiting for parts or dealerships allocation while being exposed
▪️Transport
▪️Dealership handling & cleaning
▪️Sitting again on the dealer lot exposed to the elements
▪️You improperly washing & drying it
▪️You driving it unprotected
▪️The list goes on...
Common blemishes/damage includes:
▪️Swirl marks
▪️Scratches
▪️Paint chips
▪️Water spots
▪️Sanding marks
▪️Light oxidation
▪️Condensating lights
The point is when a customer tells you they have a brand new car, congratulate them and take their reference to the condition of the vehicle with a grain of salt. For a proper estimate and service recommendation it's crucial that the customer brings their vehicle to you for an in-person assessment. Remember you're the professional with the trained eyes, and sometimes professionals can see more than the customer.
When the customer brings their car in for an assessment, use this time as an education experience. Explain what you see and why it's relevant. Explain your solution. Explain the pros and cons of their decision to proceed or decline. Don't nit-pick every defect in their vehicle (this will make them feel bad about their purchase, feel disgusted at their vehicle, or end up taking it to someone else that's not being so negative), but instead treat the vehicle as you would if it was yours, and do the best service you can provide within the customer's budget.
I hope this video helps highlight some common defects that we see on brand new vehicles, so that you can be more aware of possible issues and prepare solutions for your customers.
Remember that a brand new vehicle doesn't equate to a perfect-condition vehicle .

First and ready
We hope you enjoy it!
I love there are plenty of applications for rinseless wash. I love using it. I recently looked into a ely hose end sprayer that does not need me to get out a pressure washer. There are some applications where you will need some pressure to remove heavy dirt or grime, but for the most part rinseless saves me time
🔥🔥
I love it, well said about the ego thing and how the eye of the customer vs the eye of the detailers and yes other detailers most often than not will take any & every opportunity to throw the other detailer under the bus knowing full well about levels of service and expectation reached/delivered And yes the internet will drive you insane as a detailer. I actually had to quit watching content and went back to products & methods i used way back in the early 90s and oh boy ! My efficiency increased #1 my results improved as well! The internet had me into omgosh washing the darn car 500 times before i ever even got clay in my hand! For goodness sakes just get the darn thing clean and get to claying & polishing without all the UA-cam foam show nonsense! I applaud the content of this video!
It looks like you are using a red dot knife but a carbon blade instead of stainless?
Yes, for PPF we use the red dot Olfa knife with carbon blades. The carbon blades require less pressure to cut through the PPF.
Makes zero sense .. Tornado has a bottle attachment. Yet you are forcing liquid through a rag trying to reinvent the wheel and it already exists. They makes interior cleaner … Rinse less wash is for exterior. People try to invent something that doesn’t need inventing
Let me explain the context of why I use the items the way I do, and I hope it clarifies my choices and methods. The Tornador with the bottle attachment has a place, and can even be used for the air vents like you said. However that tool doesn't have as much airflow as the standard Tornador used in the video. Instead of spending money on two tools (which I already have both) or instead of detaching the tool for the other, it's more efficient and effective to just use a dampened towel. There's less water going into the vents & buttons with my method than the bottled Tornador. I've already tested this as fact. Notice my towel isn't dripping. It's wrung out very well to create a "dampened" towel. I'm already blowing out the entire interior, so it's not efficient to carry 2 different Tornadors. It is more efficient to use the standard Tornador to blowout the interior, and use the dampened towel to wipe down surfaces as I go as well as use my method to get the vents, buttons, and crevices. As for using the Rinseless on the interior: yes, this is an off-label use of the product but it's also not a new concept. Go look at every Rinseless Wash Brand's UA-cam channel and you'll see them showcasing the product being used on the interior. As mentioned in the video, this is the safest product to use on EVERY surface on the interior (and exterior). It's gentle yet effective at lifting dirt and oils. Even effective sometimes on *super light* staining. I choose this product as my 1st line chemical on interiors because my employees won't damage anything. By using this first it prevents them using an APC that may not be needed, or worse, they may have diluted incorrectly & stain/damage interior components (damaged interiors is the #1 mistake I see new detailers make in the groups & forums). I don't buy into the industry's marketing of a dedicated & labeled interior cleaner. It's yet another product for me to spend money on and take up shelf space. Another product my employees have to learn how to use. It makes more sense to use Rinseless where my product cost is like $0.0021 per 32oz bottle made. (This number is calculated and true in my spreadsheets). I do this for a living. Not for show on UA-cam or act like I'm reinventing something. My intention is to help new detailers or business owners with more effective methods, and to save them from the traps in the industry. Give my methods a try at least once and see if it helps. Thanks for watching & Merry Christmas.
Somebody lied to you when they said those goofy hexlights were a good idea. Can't take you serious if you still have them up after living with them for any amount of time. Any other gimmicks you fell for while you're puking advice for others?
Your comment contributes nothing other than you trying to assert some form of ego to make you feel better about yourself. Hope it worked, but I also hope you have a better day. When/if you reply try providing something helpful that contributes to making the industry better, and for helping new detailers or those that may be struggling with common pitfalls. Being rude towards me does nothing except feel sorry for you. As for the hex lights, my customers love picking up their vehicles underneath them and taking photos of their clean car. Most of my customers have never seen that style of light, and several have bought a set for their own garage. The lights are there to enhance the customer experience. Any style of lights that looks cool in photos would suffice tbh.
I have fell victim to the internet and UA-cam on products spent lots of money with griot's only for it to fail me I went back old school using my rotory and back to what I know works that I've used for over 20yrs and that is 3M
Greetings from Raleigh and great video. Not nearly enough content available for UTV’s.
Thank you for watching! I'm happy you've found the channel. I don't see many UTVs coming through my shop unless it's window tint.
New subscriber, will you be putting out new videos thanks and getting close to 1k👍
@@leardi58 thanks for watching! I'll be bringing more content. Life's been super busy the last few months.
Quality content on such a small channel! You definitely will grow with time! I noticed you don’t have a Mad car care tip holder on your pressure washer gun. Super nice guy and veteran owned! Wish you the best on your UA-cam journey!
I've seen guys cut right on the edge but I think scoring it back from the edge like you did has to work better.
What's your go to rinseless wash?
At the moment we've been using DIY Rinseless and love it. ONR and Wipeout are other great choices that we've had great experience with.
Hey bro can you please not write on my car thanks
Customer saw the video and came back for custom hand-drawn designs.. lol jk. The car belonged to my service manager, and has PPF on the hood. He recently sold it for a GMC Sierra. It'll make content coming soon!
Price/performance is the most important always, certifications are lame, has anyone ever warrantied a ceramic coat?
I agree. When I look at ceramic coatings I look at their performance track record, and I also look at health risks. Many coatings are very bad for your health as an installer. So that criteria alone has eliminated 90%+ of coatings on the market for me. With warranties on ceramic coatings- usually the brands will say "installer error" and then the installer has to eat the cost of the repair/redo. I do know of times coating companies have warrantied a coating failure or other mishap, but usually they'll say installer error.
Just found your channel, love your content. You may have just saved my new valet business :)
I'm glad the video was helpful! Thanks for watching!
thank you for the details
Our pleasure!
4 bucket method for the interior 🪣🪣🪣🪣
At the time of the comment, I am at the 40th minute of the video. I want to thank you for such a presentation of productive and high-quality work. This is a great example for me and all detailers of how to do rinseless👍🤝
You're welcome! Thank you for watching! There's more content on the way.
Professional auto tech here. Certs are all marketing at this point. You can become a master mechanic (getting all A1-A8 certs) without ever turning a wrench. Nobody is perfect, and everyone is winging it. Do the thing you like and don't let some cunt tell you you can't do it.
Can anything be done for the black plastics?
PPF won't adhere properly to the textured plastics. The best thing to do is ceramic coat them for easier cleaning and UV protection.
Bro, your videos are really good! I am sure if you continue you will become the next rinseless wash guru. Yesterday the GPT chat revealed that rinseless is safer for paint than soap. I'm waiting for a video of how you wash the wheels 👍
Hey! Thank you for watching the video! I have actually already done a video on rinseless washing the wheels. It was one of the first ones made. Check out the channel and you'll find it. Thank you for supporting the channel! More content coming soon.
Professional normally means gets the job done in fastest time at the cheapest cost with a acceptable result… most professionals don’t use bespoke/high end products- cost and speed are the main drivers. Its the same nonsense where ‘military grade’ is thrown around in marketing… most people know that something designed to be used in the military can be built down to a price and poor performance due to conflicting and never ending changes to the design requirements. In most instances a professional is someone who charges for a service and is no means a guarantee of quality or of training or education.
I agree, and that's a great comparison with military grade items. Thank you for watching!
What if I still have tiny (2-3mm) finders appear after a day on my ppf? I used kpmf 150micron ppf and the fingers only popped up on one headlight
You can likely use a hard card to lay them down. Hard to tell without seeing them. You can always send photos to our email ocdetailing910.nc@gmail.com and we'll get back to you asap.
Great video buddy thanks for the tips! Hey were do you get those pants you’re wearing what are they called? Thanks 😊
They're Columbia pants. Like PFG attire. Wicks water really fast, and is super light weight.
Great discussion.
Thank you! Just tried C6 Ceramic Hydro today for the first time. I love everything about it! I'll be ordering a lot more!
Great video with lots of awesome tips... I am sorry if I missed it, but do you dunk and re-use the same towel for the whole car, or do you have a handful of towels in the bucket, and just switch to a new one every so often? I guess either works, but just curious.... Also, what air compressor attachment is that and what PSI are you running?
I'll use the towel until it gets dirty, and then switch it. But normally one towel does the trick for most interiors. I'm using the Tornador air tool, with the psi around 90.
That’s just embarrassing, paint protection on a 4wheeler?
Yep. It goes through a lot of brush on the trails and the owner wanted to protect the paint. So now when the film is damaged, the paint will be fine underneath.
I bet that was a cool & fun job to do. Great job!
We don't normally offer detailing for side by sides, but we'll definitely install window tint, PPF, and ceramic coating to them!
First!!!!
Awesome origin story!!! Glad you're doing so well!! May God continue to bless you in ALL your endeavors!!
Thank you so much!
VERY cool and informative video on rinseless washing. Unfortunately, I can't implement the rinseless wash on the very dirty cars that I detail. Still, should I get a mildly dirty car, I will try doing a risneless wash.
On a really dirty vehicle use a power washer to knock off the grit and heavy dirt. Then you can do the rinseless wash.
What is the best glass cleaner you have found? I’ve tried a bunch of them. Some make the interior front window so grabby it’s hard to wipe the window smooth and is frustrating. Thanks for the video!!
At my shop we use a Rinseless Wash diluted 256:1 for glass cleaning. Rinseless Wash is pretty slick and the towel will glide if the glass isn't super hot. American Detailer Garage Breeze is also a great product that eliminates that rag drag you mentioned, even on hot glass.
lol🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 so people need a video on how to clean glass god dam
You'd be surprised how many people struggle with getting streak free glass. A lot of factors can cause streaky glass.
Rotary is still king. Always will be.
Nice work! Was this Opticle Defense or Evolution?
This was their Evolution film.
@@ocdetailingnc awesome! That stuff is really sticky…I’m a little scared of it lol. Props to you 🫡
Thanks for that. With the fallout remover, Yvan (DIY) uses 1 spray on the towel and 1 on the panel. You use a lot more. I'd like your take so that i can make up my mind on how much to use. Thanks
Hey! In the video I'm not using the DIY iron remover yet. The one I have is a prototype product with extremely low odor that is great for inside a closed shop. I haven't tried the DIY Iron yet, but I'm sure it's good. Definitely follow Yvan's directions with his products.
One spray on towel, one on panel is definitely enough. Diy very foamy for an iron remover.
this gonna be helpful for me staying at my condo, there r none facility like car wash bay.. this method could help me alot..
This method will be great to efficiently prep your car for a ceramic coating. You may have to readjust how many panels you do at once depending on the weather conditions, but all the same steps still apply.
Thx for the video but Wear gloves when using chemicals please.
Usually I do, but not always doing the wash process.
I gotta get one of those kegs! Would love to see a video of how you had your mobile setup with the two kegs you mentioned in a prior video.
@@McCoyMcMillan I can definitely do that! I still have all the same stuff in my shop. Good idea for a feature video!
Thank you for another amazing video, brother. I really line the way you make things simple. By the way, which ringlets wash where you are using on this car and at what dilution? Also, where can I get one of those kefs that things rocks. Aorry for all the dumb questions. I appreciate you taking the time to help all of us. Have a wonderful weekend.
In this video I used DIY Rinseless. I use their recommended dilution 256:1. The keg I got from Detail Kegs. You can also find kegs on some window tint and PPF supply websites. I'm happy to answer questions! Thank you for watching.
@@ocdetailingncThank you sir.
@@ocdetailingncBy the way what size is your Keg? I'm just trying to get an idea of what i would need for my shop. Also do you use the standard or heavy duty keg? I had no idea they even had a heavy duty until I just went on to thier website. Ordered thw DIY Rinseless I'm looking for a great rinseless I have tried a couple but havent found anything I'm real happy with. Thanks again for your help.
In the video I'm using a 5-gallon standard keg. I have two 5-gallons and two 3-gallons. The 3-gallon kegs are more portable. But if you have a long hose on the keg you don't really need to move it around. DIY Rinseless is what I'm currently using. American Detailer Garage Wipeout and Fuzion is equally amazing.
The video has some unforeseen audio issues due to us having to stop recording multiple times. I didn't notice it until editing. I apologize for the inconsistency. 🙏 We'll remake this video with a different car at a later time.
Great video Chris, very informative! My only note is that the audio was normal and then very low in some spots of the video. Looking forward to the next one!
I hate that the audio messed up. We had to stop recording multiple times for various reasons, and during that we somehow messed up the audio. Thank you for watching!
