How to pull a shoe
Переглядів 37328 днів тому
Pulling your horses shoes is an important skill to know. Start by cleaning their hooves. Next, with an old file, file of the nails where they are bent over on the hoof. Next, take your nippers and starting at the back of the foot, work your nippers under and pull toward the toe until the shoe comes off.

If Johnny's playing, it's all good...
Can’t live without some Johnny Cash!! 😊
Who made a rule you have to get on and off on the left? I don’t think the horse cares.
Absolutely agree!!
Driving on the left hand side of the road in countries like England and Australia was entirely down to mounting and dismounting on the left-hand side of your horse,... just some trivia.
I’ve never heard that one! Thanks for sharing.
This is so true. When I got my horse I made sure that he would be good with lots of little things like being able to lead on all sides and being able to mount and dismount on both sides. My cousin told who took English riding lessons told me how it was wrong to mount on the right side or wrong to lead them on that side. But I made sure I mix up what sides I get on basses on what’s more convenient, so that way he won’t spook or get agitated when I do something on the “wrong” side.
Good job! It makes your horse calmer, smarter and braver!!
sounds like my dad when he was teaching me to ride. i miss that Irishman.
Thanks, it really just seems like common sense. It seems that people have heard so much of the always get on the left, that they've stopped thinking!
So cute❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks!!
It helps if their mouth is empty of other food. It’s easier to spit out if there’s other food in there. Like hay or grass.
That is very true. Sometimes it's kind of hard to put into practice though. ☺
Great teachings. And perfect realistic moments. I love this video!
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! Check out our latest video Beginning Horsemanship 101.
Amen!!!
It's best not to trot, most horses have a rough gate when they trot and it's very tiring to ride in this manner. Walking or in a gallop is much better.
@@MrDan7171 but a horse can trot forever and not tire so learning how to ride a trot is important. Especially if you have a lot of ground to cover. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you for the clear demonstration. It seems that English riding has so much technique and American riding has none. It is wonderful to see that is not the case.
@@thesentientsword8480 There is definitely technique behind every thing we do in western riding. However, I think it varies a lot from rider to rider and trainer to trainer. There are also dozens of different disciplines within western riding which affects techniques as well.
You did an excellent demonstration, but it still did not look comfortable.
@@jth1195 the most comfortable way to ride a trot is the post but having the ability to sit, post, or stand gives you a break if you’re having to trot a long way.
@@jth1195 Thanks!
Weight out of the stirrups was such good advice!!
@@kbwilder I hope it helps!
CKC are the best !
@@kentuckydreamfarm They are wonderful, loving dogs!
Yes
Rain
@@alexandralellock6491 Yes, no fire for, just rain. 🌧️
That was impressive.
What did you think?
Happy Graduation ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😊😊
Thank you!
You aren't graduating anything. The child is graduating . Wish parents that have no accomplishments would to piggy backing off of the kids successes. You can be proud your child is graduation. You are not though
Okay boomer.
I never claimed to be graduating. Our daughter is graduating. However, when your kids graduate and leave home, you do graduate to a new phase in life. Fortunately for me, I’m not there yet😉😂
Mid
Well isn’t that super
Thank you!
She looks like a staff at my school
Maybe in a few years!
Congratulations🎉❤😊
Thank you!!
Nice pants
Thanks, I think 🤔
Womp womp
🤷♀️
Thats why you ask them to add chocolate to the bottom as well.
There was more chocolate than there was ice cream. 😬
Absolutely
Willing to try something new

Shrinkflation
That’s awesome 😂😂
They want $14.00/ $15.00 an hour for crappy food/service
I think that’s part of the problem.
@@rhondae8222 I figured that was the case. Never the less, they won’t be getting any more of my business. As a business owner myself, I understand the need to give real value.
Sounds about right! At our McDonald’s they give you barely any fudge and still double the prices! 😡
This was at Burger King. I was not impressed! 😤
No way and let the horse be a hose, how dare you! lol jk…..happy for your horse! Kills me when ppl get killed and then blame the horse bc the horse did something, no the horse was a horse, he doesn’t know how to be anything else. 🐴fyi, when you braid a tail, it become much LESS EFFECTIVE. The tail is there for a reason, to swoosh flies. That’s what a free tail will do, a braided tail, now you’ve just made a whip. Maybe not so happy at that. 😊
You are absolutely right! Fortunately, right now, we don’t have to worry about flies. Every once in a while our girls will braid tails just for fun. It doesn’t stay very long. 😊
Cool vid😮
Thank you!
I hope you went back!
I actually said something when they handed it to me and they just shrugged their shoulders. Needless to say, I won’t go back!
@@tednyvonneprescott5856 That’s shocking! I now defiantly say something , I had one with hardly any chocolate so I looked at this young bloke & said mate does this look right to you ? He then fixed it
@@bronwynmines7864 😂 I actually did say something and they just shrugged and walked away.
All these obstacles look great 👍
Cause it's Wednesday my dude
It was Tuesday! I even said something to them before I left and they just shrugged their shoulders. 🤷♀️🤨
Bitless halter
My racehorse: 🎉
I used a hackamore never use the reins always used my legs
Mhm
My first thought: THE NETFLIX SHOW ✨
same
What show?
Free rein
I often give my horse a free rein. I also wear a helmet whenever I ride cos I know sh!t happens. 🤷🏻♀️
I think most of us are aware that stuff happens. Watch for some upcoming videos with helmets 😉
I ride bit less
We start all our horses bitless and then move through different bits for different things/levels.
That do make sense. You just cant control everything
No, there really is no such thing as control. It’s an illusion we create. The only thing we control is ourselves! 😊
When trail ride & it gets dark we let go and the horses bring us home 100%. Pitch dark too for us.
I’ve done that way more than I can count. In the middle of the woods, off the trail, in the dark and an hour from home, and they ALWAYS know the way home. It’s an incredible and liberating feeling
Animals always know their way home, thank heaven!
Ok🔔👁️❤😍pozdro😊
I totally agree, but where is your hat ? 👍👎🤬
😂😂As a woman, we don’t always feel the need for a hat 😂😂
I ride with no rein them just there just to be safe but I don’t move my hand I ride just with my legs this is on my trainers horse
We do that as well.
Funny! Cool 😎
Tru..how long did it take to get to that pint..I have a 5 year old I'm working with to get to this point
It does often take a while. We try to make sure all our horses can do it though.
