Isn't golf tough enough ... you just gotta make it even tougher to play ... there is only a small number of players on the planet who are good enough ... the rest are just a bunch of puffed up ego wanna bees who are zero fun on a golf course and will never be on TV

I was in the golf course business for 15 years. started from the ground up to superintendent. unfortunately the course went bankrupt during the economic downturn in 2008. Was unemployed for 16 months. Never went back. I often wonder how many golfers or even the pros know how much work mostly physical work goes into maintenance.

I have a question for you about field preparation. How do you think I should prepare the soil to avoid weeds and for the grass to grow quickly and evenly?

Yes it does, pto driven, mounted on the mower, it requires less h p and lower revs than an a conventional pto driven rotary

Irrigator made a Jones Engineering. God daughter works there and builds them. Rotary mower are the blades driven by electric motors? If so does machine have its own P T O driven generator on board ??

Lots of cost involved in sod wall bunkers. Maybe not worth the expense. A normal, deep bunker would be 25 times cheaper to build.

Absolutely gorgeous.

It’s a shame you didn’t start from the beginning of turfing perhaps from 1950 when my father started with a turning iron so all by hand cutting 600 3ft x 1ft turf a day and delivering it. Then in the late 50s he had a Ryan Turf cutter but still had to race out the area so it came out still 3ft long, it wasn’t till the early 60s when the Ryan came with a chopper to save a lot of time. The came the 16inch wide cutters which just cut the turf and we had 4 people chasing the machine rolling up the turf. TheBrouwer harvester didn’t come out till the 70s

How do you actually make the topsoil?

So every harvest you would loose some amount of soil yeah ? Do you do something about replacing that or is it really a non issue ?
