@retherton at the moment I will keep it as is - don't actually like gold coloured things so the pickguard might have to change. I am aware of upgrades I could do but this poor guitar player is happy with the instrument 😀

I just pulled this one out the other day and remembered why I like it. :) What kind of JM do you have? I'll have to make a video with this one again, as hard is it may be to put my Rufini down!

@@retherton I have a 2003 AVRI 62 Jazzmaster I bought new back in 2003. AVRI are American made. It's a great guitar. I look forward to your next Jazzmaster video.

@ bridge is still there. I swapped the trem for a fender one . Next is the pots . They are a great value guitar . I’ve got more expensive guitars but it’s like my daily driver that I want to get naturally get road worn and mod it . Cheers

It certainly looks like it, but I'm not sure. They are unlike any other pickups I've played-super, super sensitive and dynamic but not overly growly. I'll do some research and let you know!

Thanks! I totally agree with your opinion of the Grand Canyon. I debate getting rid of it now and then, but I always hold on to it. I love that it's easy to work with right out of the box, AND that I'm still figuring out how to coax new sounds out of it. The best part for me (and the reason why I haven't gotten a DL-4) is the robust looper functions. Being able to record a loop with one delay and then overdub with another is a major plus. Do you have a looper pedal that you use, or do you just use the Grand Canyon? I also use a Boss VE-8, which I only really like due to the big buttons. :)

Thanks, man! I just looked at pictures of the First Choice Inn. You nailed it. Stuck in the 90s, early 2000s. That's fully the vibe I was feeling when composing and playing this. I don't know why, but I thought of John Zorn's "Naked City" and the darkness (for me) and thinly veiled threat of violence that seemed to indwell in those times. Maybe it makes you recall as well a certain tense midnight encounter outside of a club in North Denver, and the fear on a policeman's face?
