Seattle Shoe Don't buy cheap Salvatore Ferragamo shoes Ep 85
Dont waste your money on cheap Ferragamo shoes. The only shoe worth purchasing is their Tramezza line which is well made and worth the investment.

The Loafers look good - thanks for sharing the video. Why not take them for a stroll in the summer? Be good to hear an update on how they wear! I bought a pair of Prada on sale, which are also cemented sole, and they are light on the feet, as long as you're not walking too far!

Thanks for the video! I recently came across a pair of Sutor Mantellassi’s at the thrift store. I was killing time just sort of checking out the store while my partner was shopping. I don't generally buy used shoes, but the quality of the construction caught my eye immediately, they were in pretty decent shape and I thought they might have fit. I've never owned a really nice pair of dress shoes, but decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to have one at the ready (just in case), so I took them home. Unfortunately they were too small. They're still in really good shape, so I'd like to resell them to someone who can get some use out of them but I’m having trouble finding any examples of them used for sale in order to set a fair price. Any ideas where I might learn more about how to value this brand or used shoes in general? I might just give them away if someone needs them, but I’d love to satisfy my curiosity about the price. Any guidance appreciated! Also, your topic is dead-on, they're really nice shoes, but they don't seem to be very common in the US. Just makes me like them more!

Don't you think that $1800 for a pair of goodyear welted shoes with open channel stitching is crazy. Even at the discount you paid? For $1800, I can buy a pair of fully handmade ACME shoes and customize every feature. For $400, I can buy TLB Artista which feature a narrow waist and closed channel stitching. Curious to hear what you think

No longer on sale a Nordstrom. I just checked. I do love the style and think JL has some other beautiful designs in their catolog. They will never get my business because ~2500 for ANY pair of GoodYear welted shoes is INSANE. I can buy an MTO Acme for less than $2000. Hand Lasted, Hand Welted, hand sewn shoes can charge $1000 and more because of the labor. Goodyear welted shoes even on sale for $1500 from 2400 is cray. I can get any number of shoemakers to copy the design for consoderably less than what JL charges.

You're right. AE is going the way of JM and Cole Haan. For now, AE is still making all their classic shoes and boots in America of decent quality. I am focused on getting my AEs now while they're still decent. I have a pair Fifth Aves now and looking to purchase a pair of Park Aves. In the next few years, you see will Park Aves made with cheaper leather, memory foam insoles, EVA soles and cement construction in SE Asia somewhere. If you have any classic AEs on your bucket list, get them in the near future.

Hello Seattle Shoe Guy! Love your videos and small little setup. just my 2c from a stranger and viewer 1. always use a good well lit picture of the shoe in the thumbnail 2. set the camera some inches further from you so there is a bit more torso, maybe even something that the show lays on (?) 3. a shot "on foot" is important (atleast in the sneaker world) and you could even show off your pant/shoe combination with us. 4. stay awesome :)

Steve from Bedos is the king. His work is spectacular. I've used him multiple times and agree that he is an artist. Curious why you decided to put vibram soles on your condovan shoes. What was the ratioale? As for AE, there is no way I'd ever buy from them today. The quality isnt there like it used to be. I'd buy the same style from TLB Mallorca for less money and get a much better shoe.

I owned multiple pairs of Leeds. Regular leather and cordovan. A decade plus ago they were with cost. Today, I would pass. No way I’d pay AE 800+ for a cordovan shoe. AE quality isn’t what it used to be. I’d rather spend my money on a pair of TLB or Carlos Santos. AE shoes are mediocre at best w design. TLB are less expensive yet have closed channel stitching and a design aesthetic.

Hey! Beautiful shoes. Do you ever treat your suede shoes with any kind of waterproofing spray or anything? or do you just try to avoid any showers? I’m in Vancouver and just ordered a pair of suede boots. Maybe not the best choice for this climate…
