Do the snares have guts? Or is it just poor tuning, also get those snares some marching sticks, they look like they are using a pair of drum set sticks.
Yea I get you. They were using drum set sticks and yes the drums were in poor tuning. It has been fixed though so in a couple of weeks/months when we preform again, there will be a noticeable improvement

What is it tuned to any pointers how the drum apps i find are for drum sets im a guitarist helping a student
I’m not sure on what pitches the drums are tuned to. I would recommend however listening to the sound you or your student would like to re-create and trying the best you can to make the drums you have sound as similar as possible to the sound you want. In my experience the drums don’t necessarily need to be an exact pitch but should be close to the sound that you can hear commonly through all music or drum corps in specific. Also there are not really any apps I would recommend for marching percussion.
Typically I just tune to what I think sounds good. As long as all of the tenors are tuned the same, it'll be fine

The jig 2 solo isn’t that overrated. It’s cuz some people try to play it but they can’t play it clean. And Jig 2 is overplayed too much and it’s always dirty

For anyone watching: I apologize for the bad tuning on the drum. I filmed this video at the start of my school year so the quads had not been touched for several months, while also being more than 10 years old, therefore having a bad sound because of inconsistent tuning and old heads. I will make a new video soon releasing the new tuning which is correct. Also: I started this drumline with all new people besides myself so some of the people playing here were switched around due to sound and difficulty with there part at the time.

My gripe was more him accidentally hitting the stcks instead of the head. Then ypu got the snares not in time.
