What’s with the fuzzy wings? That’s inept and disrespectful to the film.

Great film, love Film Noir and the late greats James Mason and Joan Bennett! Also loved her in the classic film noir film, "Scarlet Street" with the late great Edward G Robinson.....thank you!

This has everything a good noir is made up with - atmospheric lights and shadows, settings, tough guy dialogue, sultry dames and molls, a crime angle or two - realization that someone snitched or squealed or double crossed someone - and the consequences. Great stuff to include music score to heighten the tension.

Did people actually do that at home back then?...get dressed and washed up before coming down to dinner? At time lapse 33:48 the mother yells up to her son in his bedroom to " Get dressed for dinner". I assume this means to put on proper dinner attire. I've also seen in other films of this era that when a family goes out together to a restaurant for dinner, they all get dressed up (boys with shirt and ties and jacket and hair well-groomed as well as fathers, and daughters and mothers wearing dresses and hair well-groomed with proper table manners being expected of the children). At time lapse 106:13-22 the son is dressed in a full suit to go to the movies with friends. It seems that going out to dinner as family back then was an event or special occasion. Was this just a Hollywood motion pictures American moral standard or did people in general actually do this routinely?... And good gracious!!... at time lapse 119:55 did rural towns actually use lighted propane candles along grassy roadways at night to guide automobiles?!!!

Those were the days when women were really women and men were men. No preferred gender bullshit.

I believe that the race-track is out in the Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond and Mojave Desert Honda test track in Mojave Valley. Parts of Ford vs. Ferarri were filmed there too.

Moral of the story: A man who's always on business, might just see his daughter and wife get into all kinds of trouble. This Tom was lucky; he never even knew about it. But he better think twice, next time.
