I looked this up because I abruptly stopped taking it and went through every single one of those withdrawal symptoms last night and thought it may have been food poisoning. It felt like a hat was on top of my head too, crazy dreams in the few minutes I slept in between sweating and feeling cold, throwing up and water diarrhea, tossing and turning, it started with being unbelievably tired and fighting through a haze... like I was inside my head, hard to describe properly. Going to the doctor tomorrow, trying to get off of all of these dangerous "medicines" they gave me.

Absolutely nothing pleasant about being disabled. Being alive is miserable and I honestly just want my body's expiration date to come. MDD is an awful condition to have especially since medications aren't working for me or they don't really work for very long. When they all stop working I already know I'm outta here. I'm fed up with depression.

Good job with this. It's important to destigmatize suicidal ideations, a lot of people have them as symptoms of other things. It's more common than people realize. There's a mindfulness book called 30 Days to Overcome Suicidal Thoughts by Harper Daniels that can be helpful for someone out there. In the end, it's important to remove the shame from the thoughts.

    • @lightfullybehavioralhealth

@sunset33533 - Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! I put a lot of effort into these videos, so your feedback means a lot. You're absolutely right - destigmatizing suicidal ideation is so important, and many people experience it alongside other challenges. Removing the shame can make a big difference in seeking support. I appreciate the book recommendation, too - it could really help someone out there. ✨

I was on duloxetine 20 for 2 years and my doctor has stopped it suddenly because I was not having anxiety issues but my head feels very heavy and dizzying. Do we have dose less than 20 mg to taper off in duloxetine.

    • @lightfullybehavioralhealth

@vxxvxxvb It sounds like you're experiencing some difficult withdrawal symptoms. It might be helpful to reach out to your doctor again to discuss these symptoms and ask about a tapering plan. They may have suggestions or alternative methods to help ease the transition off duloxetine. Hang in there!

My doctor put me on Amytriptilin 60 mg, and duloxetine 30 mg, when she should of never mixed the 2. I winged off both, and had the worse withdrawls I could of imagined. Ended up in the hospital, thought I was having a stroke, didnt think about all the withdrawls I was going through. Blood pressure and blood sugar was spiking through the roof, dizziness, brain zaps, brain felt like it was dying, serotonin completely messed up, riging, beeping in ears, wanted to pass out when I stood up, brain fog, God so many symptoms, that took me months to get over. DONT TAKE ANTIDEPRESSANTS, ITS DESTROYING YOUR NATUAL BRAIN!

I was prescribed this 12 years ago (by trial and error) Me personally never actually experienced a benifit but my partner said she noticed 'some' improvements... After 12 years I decided to stop this medication. I went from 60mg to 15 mg over the time of 2 months. Since a week now I totally stopped taking it. Oh my god the withdrawal is bruta. Even after reducing the dose so gentle over time. I have the brain zaps, beeing extremely emotional,.... After looking into some information online some websites declare that withdrawal symptoms can last up to 6 months !!! After all this, I really really wish I never started this medication. Can't help to feel like I have been taken poison rather than medication all this time... It scares me that medication can have such massive impact on one's brain... Never, never, never again for me.

    • @lightfullybehavioralhealth

This drug is the worst . Do not start! Basically impossible to get off of. I never have been addicted to anything until cymbalta. It is so irresponsible of this company to not have a way to help stop taking this. I went to the lowest dose of the 20 mg pill. They don't even make one. That's less than that... I cannot get off of the damn medicine. It's so frustrating. I've written the company of course with no response... I'm healthy. I eat well. I keep sugar out of my diet for the most part. I exercise daily. I'm in good shape. I don't smoke. I drink in moderation having wine with dinner.. I have never been addicted to something but this is the worst. I can't even tell you how bad it is and I am not being hyperbolic... One time I did have a physician understand and he prescribed a long long several month plan on how to get off of it which included starting some other mental medication like Prozac or one of those kinds of things.. I don't need to be on any of it. I was only prescribed the cymbalta initially because of severe back pain but in my case it did not help... I tried it for a whole year and that was a huge mistake not realizing that I could become addicted. It's my body that's addicted to it. I get brain zaps vertigo. It's horrible and so now I am stuck with taking 20 mg a day...

@helloitsme7983 - Sounds like you have had a similar experience to what we described in the video. It’s tough when you start a medication not knowing the potential withdrawal symptoms. It sounds like you may have made a different decision if you had all of the information on the front end. Hopefully, this video will help others who may start taking Cymbalta, so they know about withdrawal symptoms going in.
