We are a family friendly channel seeking to share our adventures with others. Not all of our content will be tied to overlanding specifically, some will be hiking and other adventures we pursue. We get a lot of our ideas and information from watching other channels so we hope, as we share our adventures, it will give ideas to our viewers as well. Thanks you in advance for watching and subscribing!!! #overlanding #adventure #bankhead #waterfalls #hiking #camping

That was great thanks
Glad you enjoyed it, we would like to do more videos in Bankhead but just haven't gotten around to it.
You two are rock stars!✨
😂😂😂 Definitely didn't feel like a rock star after that trip......just glad we got through everything. Hindsight....it was one of the most exciting trails we've done! Thanks for the comment.
Great Video. We will have to check this out on our way to Overland Expo East this year.
Have fun!
Shoe Creek used to be a lot better, before it was closed midway through. I haven't been out there since they closed that section. Check out Big Piney and Pedlar River. They're right by there and have some fantastic campsites.
Thanks for the info! We don't get up that way much, only been in the area twice (both times for the Overland Expo). I would have loved to travel the whole road, it a shame its closed halfway. We would like to explore more in that area, but it is a loooonnnnggggg way from Alabama. Thanks again for the tips about Big Piney and Pedlar River!
CAN YOU SEND A LINK TO WHERE YOU STARTED THE OFFROAD TRAIL
We started around this coordinate (34.41509, -87.31447), FSR 213 I think. Kinlock falls is at this coordinate: 34.30849, -87.50276.
Such a Special Place…..my stomping grounds 🫶💜🫶
Yes it is....thanks for watching!
nice content
Thanks
What are the gps coordinates for that first campsite on the lake?
34.62048, -93.42169
Awesome video! Looks like some great areas for exploring.
Thanks for the compliment! I think all the areas around the lake have the best overlanding opportunities. We really didn't explore much because we had a pretty strict schedule. We hope to go back soon and see more of the forest. Thanks for watching!
Great video! That trail looks fun with plenty of great views!
It was fun once you got near the lake, and I suppose the other trails would be fun in the wet season. Thanks for watching.
any spots to camp?
Not on this road. Everything is private property except for the road.
Back around 1995 a friend, my dog, and myself stayed a night inside the shelter. The next morning my dog woke us barking at two forest service rangers - there to make sure we understood that the place was protected. Thanks for this video.
I bet that was pretty cool camping there.
Just came across your Overland movie I couldn"quit watching until the end
It was a fun trip!
Just stumbled on your channel. Good stuff. Keep it up!
Thanks for watching! Everyone else's videos have helped us find trails so we thought we would post a few to help others find trails as well.
Nice video! It has all the information that I was looking for. Did you see any AWD vehicle on the beach? I have a 2017 Nissan Murano and I didn’t have issues on the beach, even last year on the outer banks…do you think that the cape lookout sand is worst than the rest of the outer banks? Thank you!
I can't remember any but I wasn't really looking that close. Lots of trucks with campers. The sand was close to what we saw on Corola Beach but not as deep as Cape Hatteras in my opinion. It was much easier to drive on than I anticipated. I hear Davis Ferry service went out of business, so you'll have to go with another ferry service. Truly an amazing place.....ready to go back! Thanks for watching and safe travels.
Being above the clouds in the mountains must be an amazing experience in person.
It is! The only other time we've experienced that was in Hawaii on top of Haleakalā.
Great video I can't wait for this summer when we get to explore in them areas
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
Great video!
Thanks.....its a beautiful area!
Up load quality weak? 😮 Not now beautiful trip!
Yeah, it seems to take a while to process the high definition. Maybe I shouldn't publish it immediately and give it time to process. Thanks for watching!
Niiiice....
Any special perrmits needed for Lauderdale Wildlife Refuge?
Not that I'm aware of. Just note that the waterfall is on an OHV club property, we got lucky and talked with one of the guys in charge and he let us drive to it.
This looks fun! Great video! I’m gonna have to do this very soon!
This was a very fun trail, maybe the best Alabama has to offer. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Where is that long bridge going over the river at about 24 seconds?? And what is that road going under what looks like a high Road overpass at 35 seconds??
The bridge is at the Appalachia Powerhouse, we took 30 up from Ocoee Lake, turned right on Lost Creek Rd (103) then left on 23 and left on 236, which dead ends at the powerhouse. At 35 seconds is the water pipe that runs to the powerhouse. The road is off 23 a little further down from the powerhouse but I can't remember how far. I think its 23A on the map (Turtle town Adit). Thanks for watching!
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure awesome thanks for that effort!
Enjoyed the video. I Googled and found some answers regarding those structures you guys came across in the woods. It’s an abandoned town called McFarland, TN. www.be-roberts.com/se/tn/apal/apalmcf1.htm
Yep. We found that out later on. There is supposed to more remnants of the town in that area, we want to go back and explore to see what we can find. Thanks for watching!
Troopers
great video guys! Can't wait to take my first trip to the Cape!
Its definitely a bucket list item. Thanks for watching.
Nice video. Seems Davis ferry service is no longer in business as of 2024 apparently Heading down in April. Really looking forward to it as it will be my first trip to CL.
I wonder what happened, its seemed like they had plenty of business. Hope you have a great trip and thanks for watching.
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure apparently the owners had health issues and they just decided to close it down. That’s what their website says …
Bummer@@Treetopflyer777
That’s Lake Ocoee at the first overlook you stopped at. Also, the purpose of the foot bridge was to make it easier for the workers to access the power plant. Before it was built they had to take a canoe across the Hiwassee. Also it was easier to get to the power plant via Reliance vs. the long FS road.
Great video you guys!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
Any chance you have the route you guys took saved?! Thanks!
Sure do, just send me an email at dustybunnsoverland@gmail.com and I'll send you the GPX. Thanks for watching!
I went to a homecoming at Cashes Valley quite a few years before the church burned. So now people can't get access to the cemetery where their family members are buried?
I don't believe the gate was locked. The people in front of us opened it and went through but we decided to turn around. I do not believe they would legally be able to block the cemetery off from people who need to get there.
Thats area is home for me! Ive been riding those trails on fourwheelers and sxs’s for many years. Very beautiful country!
It sure is! We just love that area, only wish we were closer. Didn't even know about it until a couple of years ago.
🤩
China 😂
Hello! I'd like to have that file you saved for this trip, as I'll be logging some trails for onX Offroad in the area soon, and it'd be very useful. Thanks in advance.
Shoot me an email at dustybunnsoverland@gmail.com and I'll send it to you.
Where is this awesome trail y'all have presented us?
It starts above Waterloo, AL on County Road 105 in the Lauderdale Wildlife Management Area. There's a short section heading north then left on State Line Rd and right at the T, which Gaia says is Hitchcock Lane. Thats where the excitement begins. Thanks for watching!
Nice video, what time of year was this?
It was in September of this year.@@MacDowra
The trail to the falls is on the NATRA club and a guest pass is required. But Hitchcock lane is a county road and anyone can drive on
Awesome spots!
Enjoyed the video thanks for sharing
Great video, loved the dog!
He did make things interesting that day. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Love those areas.
Thanks 👍....it is a fantastic area!
Man, that FJ sure is nice!
It sure is, a little bouncy on the trails though.. 😂
Over 1000 waterfalls in the sipsy alone 🤙🏽
I went up there this last weekend, the gate is new. You use to be able to go all the way to the cemetery before they road was closed.
Thats a shame. Looks like they wouldn't be allowed to cut off access to the cemetery.
Too many folks in jeeps and whatnot tearing up folks private property and/or tearing through the water fast as they could go. Only property owners have access behind the gates now.
Where exactly is this and how do I get there? Even a name would help.
I think it is somewhere on Forest Road 217 (Meadow Branch maybe). I don't know if it has a name, we just barely saw it out of the corner of our eyes while driving (it's not obvious, no parking, barely a place to pull off).
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure Thanks so much. I'll see if we can find it next time we are in the area.
Did you make it to the cemetery? I heard they gated off the trail about halfway down
No, there was a closed gate but I think it was very close to the cemetery based on the map. Some guys in front of us opened the gate somehow but we turned around. I think we were at the last water crossing before the cemetary.
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure thanks for the info. is there plenty of room to turn around if you’re in a group of 5or6. I remember it being pretty tight in that area but I’ve only been 2 or 3 times
There is a private road that shoots up to the right just before the gate. There should be enough room for 3 or 4 vehicles to pull up to the creek crossing, giving the last vehicle room to back up into the private road and turn around.
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure cool, thanks. I’m headed back up there early November. Now I know I can go check it out
My family lives miles form O&W, thank you for picking up garbage.
You are very welcome. We try and pick up trash everywhere we go, it's such a shame that people throw it out like they do. Thanks for watching!
BTW.....that is one AWESOME area!
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure Yep. We are very fortunate. I floated from O&W to Leatherwood a couple weeks ago and fished up North White oak Creek.
That sounds like fun. We didn't even know BSF existed until a couple of years ago. we've already made 2 trips up there but were mostly trail riding (did get a little hiking in). We wat to come back and just camp, hike, and kayak for a few days (I hear Picket State Park has some good kayaking too). The Twin Arches blew us away!
It would be great if y’all would share maps on here. I live just down the road.
If you shoot me an email I will send you the gpx file. If you cant read a gpx file let me know and I'll try and screen shot the map for you. Thanks for watching!
Heading there in June is the GPx still available?!? Awesome video
Nice video! Hoping we can get over there sometime this winter
I would highly recommend it. Thanks for watching!
Been watching your Bankhead waterfall videos, trying to figure out where "Tim N Michelle falls" is at. We do a lot of hiking in that area and know of a few secret places but I don't recognize that one.
Lots of water crossing. Just think of all dem eco systems yall done destroyed!.....lol
Yep....destroyed a bunch that day!
That's such a beautiful trail. I love the trees and rivers.
I love waterfalls. Camping next to a river/creek is something i want to do. Unfortunately i cant do any of those here in Florida. Great video👍
We are lucky to be in north Alabama where we can be at either the beach or the mountains in just a few hours. I like Florida but I would definitely miss our mountains/streams/and waterfalls. Thanks for watching!
@@dustybunnsoverlandandadventure I wish we were closer to access those types of places. Look forward to more of your content 👍
