This cache is based on the poem"Twas the Night Before Christmas" by poet Clement Clarke Moore in 1837. Use the sliding bars to set the 8 Reindeer in order per the poem. I don't get it...take bark off a real tree, glue it to a plastic tube to make something look like a fire log instead of just cutting the real tree. I was looking for "how to make fake tree bark" to just cover the edges of a 1x8 lumber look like live edge shelf.

  • @TheBushdoctor68
    @TheBushdoctor68 Рік тому

    Ohh that's a great build! I love how compact it is, with the cache directly tucked underneath the puzzle. I did not understand why that combination unlocked the box though. I'm also unclear about the notches in some of the blocks. In any case: Well done sir!

  • @TheBushdoctor68
    @TheBushdoctor68 Рік тому

    Wow. Great puzzle! A good looking one as well. I gotta say, it does look pretty hard to solve if you don't have any extra information. However, I can imagine that physically handling the dice and being able to sort them and such probably helps. Were your visitors able to figure it out, in general?

  • @TheBushdoctor68
    @TheBushdoctor68 Рік тому

    Great cache, but I have to admit that I haven't got a clue how to solve this. I watched the video several times and I have NO idea why you put the marbles in the holes that you put them in. I must have some kind of mental block on this one. Your description reads: "Place the marbles to match the numbers in the rows and columns". To me, that means that the marbles have to placed in the holes that have the same number in the row as in the column (but apparently that's wrong). Your first and second marbles made sense to me at 0:53 because the first had a 2 on top and a 2 to the left. The second marble had a 3 on top and 3 to the left. Your third marble however didn't make any sense to me. It has a 3 on top and a 2 to the left. I'm totally lost. What obvious method am I missing here? Thanks.

    • @markcadman
      @markcadman 6 місяців тому

      I was confused at first, but the numbers indicate HOW MANY marbles should be in each row or column. So for the 3rd marble placed, I'm guessing the 2 on the left hand side should have been a 3, as that would then make sense with the numbers along the top.

    • @TheBushdoctor68
      @TheBushdoctor68 6 місяців тому

      @@markcadman Yes, you are correct. My girlfriend explained the method behind this puzzle. It seems to be a familiar thing for people that puzzle a lot. :) If you're NOT familiar with this type of puzzle, the explanation could have been a bit better tbh. That number 2 should have been a 3 though. Indeed.

    So, is the stump you showed the mold shape or the finished product? If so, that looks amazing! If not, is there any pictures or a video of the actual process? That would be very helpful! Do you have any recommendations for something to use besides concrete? I need something a bit lighter to pick up 🤔☺

    Wow! What a clever solution to the question of “how to get the geocacher to reset the puzzle after he solves it!” You build a cache that requires seeing two solutions, and make it that getting to either solution is a complete puzzle in itself. Nice!

    Sorry to bug you. I really loved the idea for your in-cold 7up cache. With your permission I would really like to replicate it. I am an armature gadget builder with 1 under my belt and many more in the works. I do have one question on the 7up cache. For the door, did you purchache this door somewhere or make it yourself? I really love your caches, and any reply would be greatly appreciated!
