Pressure Wash & Soft Wash Skid Build | Part 1 - The Overview
I'm building a new skid for my truck, and I'll walk you through the entire process. In this video, I'm going over the plan for the entire build. All the parts, the layout and ideas I have that are going into it. I'll be putting together an entire parts list of what was used, so if you want to build this yourself, you could.

I am in Arizona. I very very unhappy with Angi's. They sent the leads to too many people. They charge from $35.00 to $100.00 to every company they send the leads. Some of the leads are not from people are fake. They charge you automatically and if you want your money back they give you credit. You are force to stay with them because you have the credit and they don't give you the money. They charge you automatically for membership about $275.00, if you want two days later cancel, they don't refund your money. They do it so you stay with because you want to get some for your money. I decided to still cancel because I don't want to deal with again.
I just signed up and i wanna unsubscribe already
The 1.25 rate seems about right. Keep in mind that because the jar is tapered at the top the fluid ratios won’t look the same where it’s drawing water from where the unmetered jar is widest.
nice one ! I am building the exact same soft wash proportioner with rinse actuator myself here in Greece right now. I am importing all those from china...and it's half price from what u pay there. I really wish though I had those nice reels here... unfortunately I don't and I have to pay much more for that 🤷♂ can't have it all! your setup will be sick anyways! good job
Hi, what kind of pallet jack do you use to remove the skid? Thanks
lol haven’t crossed that issue yet. My shop neighbor has a gas lift so I’ll just slide him a few dollars.
im new to this buisness and have considered adding dye to my bleach/soap tanks to tell better when chem is going out/lines clear is their anything i need to be concerned about like dyes that might stain certain material can it touch wood without staining that type of stuff any tips?
Angie's is disreputable and should not be your choice. Do as you wish, but you had best look into the people who have had complaints about Angie's. They are quite numerable, and I almost had a very bad experience with one of their contractors, Hansons. Stay away from these people, please.
Thank you for this video. Also need to replace when you are a fool and torque down the outlet hose barb too tight and crack the sonic weld. $65 mistake!
This guys is paid by Angie for sure !!
Do not use Angie’s list !! They send fake leads…. I got leads tryed to call them and they do not respond!! …. Angie’s definitely paid you off !
John. Your review is excellent. It summarized everything I needed to know. I still am not sure if I will use Angi but I have a better understanding of what Angi provides and what it costs. Thanks
Angie's List is horrible!!! Stay away. We got garbage leads and they charge a fortune for them. We dropped them. They said we where done and they billed us for another month. They are the MySpace of lead generation!
How do they claim they are professionals when I saw in a tv commercial a black boy "roofer" hammer a 1/2" roofing nail 16 times. I was a roofer and framing carpenter for over 25 years and even with a 12 penny nail it is tap nail for set and 1 swing to countersink the nail. It is the same for roofing nails also but with a whole lot less force. If I heard or saw anybody hit a nail more than twice on a roof shingle I would tell them to quit beating on it and hit it with your purse. The clown had on a safety harness as well on a 3/12 pitch roof whereas we never ever wore one even steep roofs. Professionals from Angi ( pronounced like Angle without the l e An- GI ) I doubt that 100% in my professional retired opinion
Ive been with them, Home Advisor since 2015. Since the they've doubled the price of thier leads, maybe a little more that. In terms of them having there own contractors, they don't send thier contractors out to do rhe estimate. They try to do the estimate with google maps, whatever information they can get online or over the phone. So they try and cut out that expense. It's really dodgy but sometimes they come come in quite high and I believe that they use it perpetrate fraud against the contractors they well leads to. It's a shame because they used to be a decent company. You used to get Americans on the phone now it's all people with heavy accents. They already lost one lawsuit for about 8 million recwntly but the payout to contractors is like a penny on the dollar. You might get 30 dollars. Think there are more wuits pending. Terrible rep on the BBB site. They could care kess about shareholders. They screw them as well. Miss the Yellow Pages.
Sorry about all my spelling fails, lol.
Excellent audio! You sound amazing!
They got me for four leaking hoses!! Just starting out and purchased Simpson hoses…. each connector on each hose leaked. Lowes would not refund my purchase.
Do the shooter tips soap and rinse
Simpson hoses have terrible quick connections. I bought 4 Simpson hoses with quick connections and all leak. Not bitter but an expensive lesson to learn for a start-up operation.
It’s not available anymore!
Thanks man. This test is really useful. I think you are using an odd shape container for this test. The narrow top makes difficult to test. I recommend using a straight shape container.
The test should have had each line draw from opposite sides of the tee, and both lines being drawn through equal diameter ball valves so the suction line could be equidistant from each bottle. Two cylindrical buckets would have given a more accurate guesstimation of the draw. Those bottles are irregular shaped at the top. Is there still a very informative video
Did you put the link for the switch?
great video! what tripod do you use brother?
They are calling me non-stop. I finally looked up to verify that it was a scam. Thank you for putting out this video. What is super annoying is that the number they call from shows up as "valid number".
Great review!
Thanks for this demonstration… I have a two story home - do you think this nozzle will reach my eaves?
Thank you for this video. I just signed up and was feeling a bit concerned if I made the right decision or not.
Informative, thanks!
People have mentioned the fact that two metering valves are needed to really compare since the opening in the valve is not the same as a straight through hose. But I haven't seen anyone comment on the incorrect basis in the math itself. If the valves worked exactly as we would want them to for this application, then having the same valve on a water line and an SH line both open 100%, would result in a 50/50 mix, or 6.25% SH if drawing from a 12.5% source. However, if you changed the SH valve to open 50%, that would not result in a 3.125% SH solution. You now have 100% water flow and 50% SH flow, resulting in a 2-1 water-SH mix, or 1/3 (33.3%) SH, which at 12.5% would be 4.7% SH. To get a 3.125% SH mix, you'd need the SH valve at 1/3 opening. This would result in 1/3 SH and 3/3 water, for a 3-1 water-SH mix or 1/4 total SH. This has to be the most common mistake I see being made in relation to this in this industry.
could not agree more, i have not seen one video of this beeing used. My math is the same as yours and if this is correct, evryone is using way more SH than they realise. I have just build an blend manifold and when my GF valve is on 50% opening its not even pulling 50%. I have to put it on 70% opening to have a 2:1 ratio. And 50% opening is actuly a 4:1 ratio...
@jesperdamgaardskogly5390 Yup. I think most people have no idea the percent they're actually using. And the truth is that if you don't flow test your actual valves after they're actually set up in your system, you wouldn't know. It's not THAT big of a deal if the person at least realizes it's all estimated and I think a lot of people just learn their own system based on feel and are probably using an appropriate amount each time. But if you're just 100% going on the math most people spout off, you're using way more SH than you think (and then giving people way different %s when you answer their questions on Facebook, etc). I have seen those metering valve charts that some people sell to stick next to your valve that DO use the correct math. But I've never really seen anyone explain it correctly anywhere.
@@chris5619 Completly agree. As i said i did some testing yesterday with pretty shocking result, so i really have to test each opening and write down how much opening on the valve i need for wihch % SH. I have been batch mixing for a year so i am really confident in what % strengt i need for diffrent surface, thats why i really wish to know exacly how many % SH i shoot out insted of guessing
How do I check out what type of service that I'm Looking for?
We need those companies regulated to their bones! Forget that Reagan fool!
DON’T DO IT. Don’t reply to no Angi Email , Text Etc .. If you don’t use them they’ll spam you with HUNDREDS of number from different people across the Nation. They’re Evil , Corrupt & Wana use you to get their way. Spread the word
porch is a scam company they lie take your money and not give you nothing
Awesome, just what I was looking for!
Okay so why not just have a 3 way valve with one of thr barbs half the size of the water and just run it that way right? Wouldent thag work. You could run like 3 different barb sizes. One for 50% one for 25% and one for 12.5% mix rafe which would give you options of 6% 3%, 1.5%
No need for music to be so high, can't barely understand you bud but, good job
You need a sludge sucker for that water spot
They won’t stop calling. Numerous times a day
As a customer who has used Porch, Thumb Tack, and Home Advisor, I can tell you that I've done several requests thru Porch, and later that same day I had contractors contacting me from the HomeAdvisor platform. I just requested Gutter cleaning from Porch (today), and 2 minutes later I was being contacted by Leaf Filter gutter guards. The Leaf Filter email stated "Your information has been received on behalf of HomeAdvisor". Clearly Porch is feeding leads to HomeAdvisor contractors.
Hi John, with the 3/4 inch ports/barbs do I also need to upgrade me blend manifold to 3/4 as well? I'm noticing that this pump is surging only when I'm on the roof - despite adjusting the pressure switch. (Works fine when nozzle is at ground level) Or would the fix be to use larger orifice fan tip nozzles. Or would it be both? Would this problem be alleviated easier if I simply swap the intake and discharge barbs down to 1/2 barbs?? Thanks for the video! ~ Mark
FTC Order Requires HomeAdvisor to Pay Up To $7.2 Million and Stop Deceptively Marketing its Leads for Home Improvement Projects Money will be used to compensate defrauded home service providers January 23, 2023
THEY SENT ME FAKE LEADS & THR PAGE I SET UP ON THEIR WEBSIT DIDNT SHOW MY REVEIWS SO I COMPLAINED & NO ONE DID ANYTHING.. I CANCELED & REQUESTED A REFUND WHICH I HAD TO DISPUTE WITH MY CARD .NOW I HAVE TO SUE CAUSE THEIR RUDE DISPUTE DEPT CALLED SAYING I OWE $2500 FOR CANCELING THE CONTRACT
Whats the update
Thank you. Didn't realize they had a flat rate now
Angie's list is a huge ripoff scam. Overpriced fake leads.
I pay to not watch ads yet here is an ad.
Yes, these scammers eat up a lot of time! I would not even trust a screen capture image of my account paused. It would only take a moment for them to send you a doctored image with some kind of "PAUSED" in it. Thanks for the tutorial!
Why does all these so called pros think it is ok to spray a hot mix of bleach everywhere and just rinse from the ground. Have they ever seen what is does to the bottom lip of the aluminum where it sits and drips. Totaly corrodes it making it bubble. I know because I'm the guy who sand ,bonds and repaints it.
Does the water valve and and the bleach valve have to be the same size? I have the GF 1/2" metering valve on my manifold, with 1" water. All I can get out of my chem tank with valve fully open is about 1 gallon of chem per 10 gallons of water. I checked and rechecked for leaks still no change in chem pull.
Do you have a GF valve on your water too or is it wide open? You wanna meter even your water flow otherwise it's always gonna pull mostly water. Like with a simple pentair valve manifold, you have a valve on all three lines: SH, Surfactant/soap and water. If you had your water meter valve wide open and SH wide open using a 12.5% it would be metered down to a 50/50 mix or 6ish% SH ration an 50% water. In my experience keeping your valves the same size keeps your ratios most accurate. Having different sized metering valves is gonna throw off those proportions for sure.
@@riverwarts9084 I changed my chem valve to a 1" Precision Flow valve, now it works very well. The 1" water line only has a check valve on it. If I open the Precision Flow valve 100% it draws more chemical than water, it'll actually drain the chem tank with very little water being pulled. The 1. setting pulls pretty close to 1%
@@Scott.Farkus damn! Yea 1" is LARGE lol but if you need to keep the water side 1" for proper flow to your pump then this is the way! Don't wanna cut it down to 1/2" or whatever and up starving/cavitating the pump.
@@riverwarts9084 The water intake has always been 1" so no issues getting enough water. There's 2 things that really changed what I'm drawing from the chem tank. 1. Going to 1" metering valve 2. The Precision Flow valve has the V cut all the way through the ball(gets way more flow), not just a V groove like the GF valves have. I noticed right away the GF valve didn't start flowing until it was set to around 25, but the PF valve begins to flow anywhere above zero. A 1/2" PF valve likely would have worked much better than a 1/2" GF valve, because of the difference in how the ball is designed.
Angi Leads is total trash! I often get bogus leads where they don't answer the phone or return calls. phone number doesn't work, the work is already completed, etc. etc.. When one goes to the app and request a credit for all the authorized reasons like mentioned above, they still refuse to give the credit. If you call and complain they will only give you a partial credit! Only about 2 out of 10 leads ever pan out!
