Part one english extract the invention of lying
Why do women wear make-up in this universe? Make-up essentially is manipulating others' impressions about your appearance. How is that not telling or showing the truth?
This doesn't make sense because he would have known all of this already that would mean he was lying
And yet if we truly spoke our minds freely....
This is awful I would never treat anyone so poorly….
This just made me sad, and not for Ricky Gervais
I would have gotten up during the phone call and left her ass. So disrespectful. Yes I know it's a movie 🎥
Gilfoyle in the world of honesty is just an embarrassed waiter!
...and in the world of Silicon Valley, a security expert. Makes you think.
I would give this a thumbs up but I don't want to take it of 666
I would have so much fun
I would do so well in this world...
People wouldn't assume you're saying something that's absolutely true. You might me just misinformed, stupid, or hallucinating.
is that gilfoil??????
I couldn't pick it ! Nice pick up
This scene contradicts the whole movie. Tina Fey proves you can be mistaken instead of believing everything someone says.
She looked great
No, it doesn’t. If you don’t know something, I’m sure you’re allowed to have theories. If not, nobody would be allowed to talk about certain topics until they were proven. People in this world are still allowed to have opinions, which is the point. Everyone seems to think that superior genetics and/or money matters most in a partner. The ending is Mark making a point that those things aren’t necessarily true just because everyone believes them.
Clashing opinions and inaccurate accounts of past events are shown in this clip, but still everyone seems to not question them. They either get an instant alternative opinion or a clarification of what happened and then everyone just accepts it as fact. The crux of the story is when asked what the main character would like during a time when factually accurate information isn’t available they simply answer the question and so the other person accepts it as fact, but then doesn’t question it again when the accurate information is presented again by a device that could be inaccurate, hence the main character decides to intentionally give incorrect information about events that other people can’t verify.
Never saw this gem. A little on the nose but if things were this way it would make life much more simple.
Being on the nose is the whole point once he figures out how to lie
how tf does she think he's gay in a world with no lying? she read his emails about sleeping w/women. i mean i guess she specified "faggot" & he corrected to "queer" both of which could refer to a bisexual, but also how does HOMOPHOBIA exist? there's no church or concept of "sin" or any way to lie about homosexuals being pedophiles or any other lie-based historical smear campaign.
I would have told her that she is dying in a week and needs to move to alaska and live there forever to survive
That’s funny 😂😂😂
I think that already happened hence Sarah Palin.
Waiter is literally a mood
Who the hell talks like that? "literally a mood". Wtf. It makes no sense. Language is getting so fucking dumbed down
He’s Gilfoyle from Silicon Valley
Not literally, figuratively, you muppet
@@frauleinhohenzollernlanguage has always been dumbed down in forms. Now you just sound old and out of touch yelling at clouds. “Literally a mood” has been a phrase for over a decade. Oof.
@@frauleinhohenzollernDearest Apologies, must I add thou Waiter humbly expresses thine with upmost relation? It is astounding to see someone of such understanding of thee. like what . 😂 it’s just slang, you don’t have to be grammatically perfect under a UA-cam comment section, someone invited frown town here.
Gilfoyle!
BILL HAVERCHUCK!
The funny part is Tina Fey criticizing other people on their looks 😆🤣
I want to make love to Tina Fey.
yo its Chris Trager
Most people wouldn't get it but hey! 😜
It's literally Chris Trager.
I think Tina Fey shouldnt be allowed to do anything ever again for saying Faggot in a movie.
If you worked at job for years and everyone is calling you a wanker then the chances are you're a wanker not them
yeah .. so much of this movie doesn't really work out .. aren't jokes lies? if he isn't gay, calling him a homosexual is a lie.
the line is "shelly thinks you're an overweight homosexual" so maybe she genuinely thinks hes a closeted homosexual.
Being incorrect isn't the same as lying.
@@NormanTiner you need to watch more clips of the movie. because when he lies, absolutely no one assumes he is incorrect. mistakes don't happen in this universe apparently
@@ModeratelyAmused it just works differently. They assume everything said is true, even corrections. You could probably even get someone to believe two contradictory things in the same sentence if you want. Actually, I'm pretty sure he does that in the Bar scene. But yeah what I said still stands.
She also DID say "overweight homosexual", she just didn't use those exact words. She corrects his wording, but not his overall meaning. But yeah that one joke did kind of screw up the overall plot. It would have made more sense if lies of omission were included to justify the constant stream of unnecessary insults. They can see they're hurting him so you'd assume the nice ones just wouldn't say anything at all.
Interesting... Fey could make a false statement (calling Gervais a faggot) but apparently it was only her opinion so it's possible for her to say it?
How politics works in this world?
It’s probably a short process where both parties tell their deepest darkest secrets. And the best one wins.

@@tylerallgeier3746 Either it drove away (or rather, kept away) the bad guys or the elections must be a depressing (thought enlightening and maybe entertaining) proccess. Now, I wonder if there are dictatorships and very bad governments (it is hard to control, not to mention manipulate the people without resorting to lying, if possible a quasi-monopoly of information). They must be extra depressing ("You are por because we are oppressing you. That is it. There is no foreign conspiratória we are protecting you. It is pure and simple gangsterism. Good night.").
@@timohess3909 Thanks.
Law makers discuss what policies and bills would best improve the lives of their constituents and discuss the pros and cons of those policies before putting them to a vote. Corrupt politicians would be quickly found out, since they can't lie about their reasons for wanting legislation passed, or who wrote the legislation to begin with. It'd be pretty amazing.
