GROUNDED | Chasing the Sun | Ep 4 | (Tonelagee & Lough Ouler)
In this episode I travel to the AMAZING Tonelagee Mountain and Lough Ouler. Both are very special in their own ways. I an chasing the sun to catch the sunset above Tonelagee.
Lough Ouler is the famous heart shaped lake which you see on IG all the time, it features also in this episode.
Friendly warning: Don't attempt late night/early morning dark hikes unless you've experience doing it in the past.
Start of hike: Glenmacnass Carkpark just off the R115 Military Road, Co. Wicklow.
Instructions: Leave carpark to right facing the river, head upstream to the wooden pillar, then cross the river and head up the thick boggy long grass and reeds until you find the trail. On the trail you'll find it can be very wet and lots of bog. Head towards the summit with the lake on the right. It will take about 1hr20- 1hr45 depending on your fitness level.
Small detour to the right "eagles nest" look out for Lough Ouler, which you will spot on your way up to the summit of Tonelagee.
Leaving the summit of Tonelagee head to the left of the lough and pickup the trail again which will bring you down the North side of the lough and trail.
From there the descent continues along the river which you will cross again and head back to the direction of the carpark. Entire loop takes between 3-4hrs depending on fitness and selfie snaps :-)

Is it very tough
What month was this taken?
Horrible music... A trail walk is a peaceful experience... get it.
Why don’t you go do the walk, in silence. Instead of sitting behind a keyboard making pointless comments ? Might do you the world of good 😂… get it?
Heard of a volume button?
Such a lovely hike. Doing it again over the weekend, weather permitting
How long does this hike take from the car park?
Beautiful video and fantastic views! I plan to visit Ireland next year and see these sights in person. Greetings from Ukraine! In Ukraine there are also very beautiful mountains and lakes in the Carpathians. Come visit us after the war is over and we win. Thanks for the video!
Hi there, I was wondering about the possibility of using a few clips of your drone footage for a music video. Track and video trying to raise more awareness about the dire state of Ireland's forests and woodland. If this is something you'd be happy with please let me know!
Cracking video, heading tomorro to repeat what I've watched. 1st vid I've watched of urs. Liked and subed
Thanks a lot! Enjoy the walk. 😇
Only there Saturday gone fabolous hike breath taking scenery
This is my Backyard, I've lived within a couple of miles of the lake all my life (58). It has suddenly been discovered by half the country now it seems and that's great that everyone gets to enjoy this wonderful amenity. We couldn't keep it a secret forever I suppose. Can I ask one thing from all who visit, please please take everything you bring with you away. Ive noticed that the level of discarded rubbish is starting to get worse and worse. Campfires with beer cans thrown around etc. Great Video Greg, thanks for visiting and doing such a wonderful production.
Just stumbled across your channel Greg. Fantastic stuff. Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos.☘️

Just added to bucket list. Fantastic production. You’re a natural. Keep up the great work 👍
Brilliant video, hoping to take this in in the morning and this video is perfect. Looking forward to seeing your other videos. Keep up the great work 👍
Brilliant. You have the knack to make it into a TV series, which could be for 30 minutes and replace ANY SOAP OPERA that has people GROUNDED to their Sofa's ! The show could help people discover outside their living room! I think you should at least consider a PILOT show!!! Nice work ! Well done. SUBSCRIBED !!
Thank so much Noel. Really appreciate the comments. If you know any TV producers send them my way! Thanks again.
Lovely style to your videos!!

I'm learning how to fly them at the moment 🛩️ just using the phone because the joy pad is a bit bulky
