This truck just came from repair shop and has noise that nobody likes. I could have taken it back to the repair shop but it is too far away so I will just fix it.

Sir where did you buy this?
I got it from eBay. Here is the link: www.ebay.com/itm/386860583373?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
Oh my god, this is the easiest and fastest adjustment on the E brake so my expedition wont move as much and i never knew this part till now hahaha. Awesome video and you are detailed plus showing exactly where your issue is to solve on your own. Thank you so much on the simple ways to fix parts on the SUV 🤙
Thank you so much.
😅
Thank you, I bought a starter from AutoZone and was on my way to the to the Mechanic when my truck wouldn’t start so from your video I changed it myself 😊
You made my day. This is what my channel is about, helping people.
THANK YOU! After a whole summer of diagnosing my JD, and attempting to fix it - the intake push rod was the issue!
Hi! Thank you for your job! At what mileage did this happen?
278.000 around that.
What were the symptoms
All of sudden it didnt run. Fuel pump stopped working and no pressure.
Where'd you get the coil?
I got in a ebay. Dnt remember where.
Hi ! I have now changed the rod push 4 times on Husqvarna rider B&S engine. It breaks in 2 pieces exactly where it goes through the plastic in the plate. Why ?? It seems like it worn out.
4 push rods is alot. For how long time does each one last? So wwhat I have found in my tractor if I dont adjust valve clearance 2 times in my summer season then it will break the push rod. Clearence will be to great so the lifter on the camshaft goes to high and gets stuck there so valve gets stuck open then piston will push on the valve and rod will be Bent or boken. Maybe that is not your case. This is common issue in John Deere. Tell me what you think.
@@ArniAtlason It doesn't last long, max 6 months. I have tried adjusting the valve spacing as you do in the video, will have to see if it works better. Maybe I adjusted before, with too much clearance. I can just see that it breaks every time, where it goes through the plate with the black plastic square. And must be because it rotates and is worn out by the black plastic square.
Hello. Thanks a lot for making this video. I have one question. Did you have to retune the carb after installing a new one?
@@UAlrKnoWhoItIs No I didnt tune anything. He just started up and ran like a champ.
Thank you for demonstrating to the rest of us 🎉
thx for the vid. Just one Question: my clear pipes are attached to the PVC manifold (barbed) by means of spring clamps but it looks like they also used a blue colored glue. Should I use this glue when re attaching? I'm also not even sure that I can get the clear pipes off the manifold since the glue is hardened. Any advice would be much appreciated, thx.
Normally the blue glue is used on the clear pipe to the PVC manifold. I have seen them to put a clamp on it specially if the manifold is barbed that is so it will press the clear pipe into the barb and the glue. I would use a glue again because the clear pipe is thick and have be to pressed into barb then have no leak is very hard, you can try it first with no glue. Make a cut into the clear pipe and then use a heat gun on it and pealed off little by little, I have done it many times. I hope this will help you.
@@ArniAtlason I think that if I have to cut the clear pipe to get it off the old manifold, then I wont have enough slack to put the pipe back on. I have to do this to many clear pipes as the two main manifolds have cracked from freezing.
is there a trick to extending the length of the clear pipes if you have to cut them off the manifold?
You can buy adapter online that you will put between the clear pipes to extend it I have done it couple of times. Depends on the inner size of the clear pipe. Here is example. spadepot.com/products/pvc-pipe-inside-connector-2-inch-bx9624

you are correct
Is normal to see arch at night ,from these pumps with the mechanical switch when turned on.
No that is not normal. I would suspect the brushes are either stuck or not worn out.
Very good, but it is best *not* to put the screws in before testing it, least you need to open the panel up again.
Yes you are correct. I I did just know this was the problem so I did put everything together. I should have showed on the video when I did test it before I put it together. Thank you for pointing it out. Sometimes I skip a part that I think obvious but it is not. I'm learning. Your comment makes me think it over.

What holds the belt in correct position when you install it onto the body assembly?
I used small electrical tape to hold it in position, Then after the engine was on, I pulled the cord on the engine. The electrical tape went off.
@@ArniAtlasonok I could not figure that out . The belt gets sandwiched between the 2 discs .
Thank you
I don’t know where you’re located but summer heat is coming soon. That’s going to be tough to establish. No need to rototill. Rough up about .25 inch down. Perennial Ryegrass will germinate the fastest. Spread evenly with a hand spreader or push spreader. 3-4lbs per thousand sq ft should work so you’ll need to know your square footage. Keep in mind the best time to seed is late summer. August-Early September if you’re doing cool season grass. Best of luck 👍
Thank you so much for this information. will try that.
When you put the screw driver on top of the cylinder how are you doing that?
I take the spark plug out the I put the screwdriver in the hole where the spark plug was. I push the screwdriver in there until it will stop (not with force) Then I will hold the screwdriver and turn the engine, Screwdriver goes up or down. When the screwdriver comes up and then down you have the piston in the highest position. I hope this helps. Ask more than less
Thank you certainly does I saw another video that says to decompress the spring one at a time completely and adjust both that way. Is that a quicker way or would you recommend your way?
@@dasa5023 Yes that is the quicker way to adjust the valves, takes little more time to find where they are both loose. But I think if you do it that you will be quicker over all. Reason didn't do it is I'm used to do it like this on a bigger engines.
@@ArniAtlasonso the key is to not tighten them down until the adjustment is made so you can feel for when they are loose I don’t mean the set screw I mean the main screw
@@dasa5023 Yes that is the key. This is all about the feeling (what is tight and what is not) When you tight the nut the adjustment will go slightly off. It took me little more time for me to get the feeling for it. that is why I took my time to practice and get the feeling.
Is it ok to re-heat the tubes and fit them in the new manifold, without cutting the tips first?
Hi Eddy. There is no problem to heat the old manifold to reshape it to fit. Just let it cool down before you apply the glue.
I think that is critters - you have a moles or chipmunks that are making tunnels.
I have to check that. Thank you.
Just keep making videos and having fun sir.
Thank you, I will
You need to cultivate the soil with a cultivator, loosen the ground a bit. Buy a wheel seed spreader. It will apply the seed evenly. Dont mix it in. You can throw some peat moss over the seed to cover it slightly. The geass will grow in evenly in about 2 to 3 weeks. Keep watering it. Good luck
Thank you I appreciate the help. I will do that and hopefully not screw up.
It is funny how mechanical things can be simple in my mind, but for others it is complicated. Then seeding grass is complicated in my mind but for others it is simple.
@ArniAtlason some people are masters of one trade ... others are Jack of all Trades, Masters of none. The problem you made was throw seed on the soil then semi-mixed it with a rake. This moved the seeds in clumps instead of keeping the initial spread you made.
@@ArniAtlason You could also throw some fertilizer on that to feed the seed and grass.
that soil health looks piss poor, Id look into a soil test kid.
Thank you so much, I will look into the tester. Im good with wrenches not this.
@@ArniAtlason Hey man, I know the exact feeling, I've been battling with my lawn for about 4 years now and it has slowly gotten better over the seasons. Just research and apply.
Looks like you only got male grass. You have to use male and female grass to multiply. Go to the store and ask for female grass, tell them you have plenty of males. In fact, collect some of it since you seem to have more than 50% coverage and return it for a refund or exchange it for females, make sure you count the seeds so you don't get ripped off. For best result, use 50-50 male, female mix. If a store clerk gives you a hard time about that, ask for a manager. Or it could be just birds eating them, so just run around with a stick making loud noises. Don't get depressed about it, look at the bright side you have ruined your property value, so your taxes might go down, good thing you experiment right in front in plain sight and not in the back.
Man. I should known that Dang.
@@ArniAtlason Have your trip to the store recorded for UA-cam so we can all learn. I just remember, make sure to use a right-handed rake to spread it, if you are right-handed, so you don't get this results and it spreads evenly. So ask for right-handed rake when you get the female seeds.
I didn't record anything in China was to busy.

Arni, could you do a video showing what vacuum lines go where? Mine is a mess, i have tried to look at the vacuum diagrams but the way they draw them in a diagram vs the way they actually go are very different locations, plus mine is missing alot from previous owners just throwing all parts of the ecc out. Everything is capped on mine and what isnt just plugs back into the carb like a big loop. Im at a loss on what to put where, but your truck looks very factory as i am trying to get mine back to that point to run correctly and also operate the AC and inside vents properly. Also curious if all of your vacuum ports were the same on your new carb vs the old carb.
Hi Patrick That can be difficult because I did take that all off and I not going to put in again. But let see what I can do, I have everything in my garage marked up. Maybe you can see something in this video, ua-cam.com/video/XgZad4jnoeQ/v-deo.html Also I have some clips that I didn't use in the video I will go over it and If I find something then I will send it you way,
If your talking about electric clips i could use some of those too. I out new carb on mine today, runs better but still my vacuum lines are not routed correctly, the inside wont switch from vent to floor or defrost, Also i think pcv and brake booster vac lines should be mounted somewhere else than where mine are, not sure how you ran your current vacuum lines and what routing you used, Mine has a vacuum tree down below the carb, it plugs into PCV, brake booster, and then has a line with a one way valve that goes and tees into vac canister and vac lines going to cab. I think the brake booster may be better suited off the port on top? Since the vac tree gets air fuel mixture into its vacuum? Or should the bottom most one off the tree be plugged back into carb to recirculate that fuel?
Great video, thanks for sharing. I'm gald that our carburetor helps to resolve the "won't throttle up" problem.
Let me ask, which would you feel safest standing on to put up a shelf: - 1) A couple of bits of 4 by 2 balanced on top of each other? 2) A bit of 6" tube 5" high? 3) A wooden platform 2 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 6" high?
I gave this jobbee a bit of thought. 4 by 2ft lengths of 4 by 2, plus 4 by 1ft lengths of 4 by 2. Lay 2 of those 2ft lengths on the ground. Lay 2 of the 1 foot lengths across the ends of the 2ft lengths. Square it up, and screw the 1ft lengths to the 2ft lengths, stagger the screws diagonally across the wood, and drive them in at a bit of an angle to the vertical. Lay another 1ft length across 1 foot from one end, parallel to that end. Screw that 1ft length to the 4 by 2s. Screw as before. Lay the last pair of 2 foot lengths above the 1st pair. Lay the last 1 foot length between the 2ft lengths, and between the closely spaced, crosswise 1 foot lengths. Carefully, making sure you work to the other diagonal, crew the last 3 bits of 4 by 2 the transverse, 1 foot lengths of 4 by 2. This framework will hold your jack upwards of 6" off the ground. Whose gonna ask the first question?
Thanks Arni 👍
I would use stepping stool to reach up to a shelf
Please place the following in a list with that which you consider to be the order of their safety starting with the safest, and ending with the least safe. 1) A couple of bits of 4 by 2 balanced on top of each other? 2) A bit of 6" tube 5" high? 3) A wooden platform 2 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 6" high? 4) Stepping stool @@ArniAtlason

Can't keep charge on my 1984 Ford F-150 inline 6 automatic 2 wheel drive. Battery battery starter and still something is draining my battery
Also replacement alternator
On my battery is new
Hi I can only tell you how I would approach that. You need a multimeter then unplug positive on your battery and hook up the multimeter between pos terminal and pos battery. Look at the multimeter and see how much current the car is drawing without anything turned on. Then I normally pull out each fuse to see if the current go lower on the multimeter. If you see the current drop down then you know what circuit is to investigate. This is normally my first step to find out where the current draw is. I hope this will help. If you have anymore questions the please ask.
If you look at the vid Ami, you haven't pushed the jack in far enough. The chassis load to one side bends the jack to one side. Wood blocks are more forgiving in this situation.
Yo are correct there.
I also have some 10 by 4 to go under the jack.
These adapter make it easier for me that is why I did do these.
Easier than what please Ami? @@ArniAtlason
Having wood piece laying around my garage, I can have these in special place in my garage. Also I found out if I place wood piece on it it will fall off, but these extension will be in place when I roll the jack under the truck. We are all different.😀
As you say Ami, we are all different. 👍 Physics however is constant. I am a physicist by trade. Air bag jacks are unstable. Try blowing your not loaded jack up nearly to the top. Then try wiggling the top while holding the bottom down. See what I mean? Your steel extension, and my blocks of wood increase the angle of wiggle. My 10" by 4" wood block underneath the jack is about 3ft long. I put the jack on the timber outside the car and then slide the whole caboodle into the best position. I find it easier to manoeuvre the jack on the wood than I do when the jack is on it's wheels. I have 2 bits of wood 4" thick about 3ft long, which means I can raise the height of the jack by 8". I am happy because at 8" the caboodle is more stable than it is with a 2" block. Physics rules UK. @@ArniAtlason ua-cam.com/users/sgaming/emoji/7ff574f2/emoji_u1f44d.png
That is great that you found your best way to use your jack,
