The lord of the place, Puri, India, himself is called as Jagannath, jagan meaning world nath meaning guardian or keeper or caregiver or in raw sense, owner. The lord Jagannath is actually lord Krishna. The origin of the Puri Jagannath temple is very interesting and worth knowing. Search and find.

Contrast indirectly comes from contra, from the French contraster.

FUN FACTS ON VANILLA!! #Vanilla vines grow 30-50 ft tall, supported by a host tree or posts. #Spiders don’t like vanilla. Use whole vanilla beans to drive away those eight-legged creatures. #Must be grown in a hot, moist, tropical climate, 75°-85°F. #Grows only 10-20° North or South of the Equator. #Many people have tried to re-locate the vanilla plant but initially failed because those locations did not have the Melipona Bee. #Now, in other parts of the world, humans must hand-pollinate the vanilla vines. #A stick, the size of a toothpick is used to hand-pollinate the vanilla beans. #It is possible to grow the same vanilla vine in Madagascar, Indonesia, Tahiti, Papua New Guinea and India, but all five cured beans have their own distinctive flavor due to differing soil and climate conditions. #Vanilla is an orchid and one of the few that produces fruit. #The flower blooms for 24 hours and must be pollinated or dies. Indigenous to southeastern Mexico. #Vanilla is extracted from the cured pods (beans) of the orchid flowers from vanilla vines #When the beans are harvested, they are treated with hot water or heat and are then placed in the sun every day for weeks to months until they have shrunk to 20% of their original size. #Vanilla is the only edible fruit of the orchid family, the largest family of flowering plants in the world. #There are over 150 varieties of vanilla plants. #Just like grapes that make wine, no two vanilla beans are the same in flavor, aroma, or color. #Vanilla is still the most favorite ice cream flavor in the US. #The dairy industry uses a huge percentage of the world’s vanilla in ice creams, yogurts, and other flavored dairy products. #To accentuate flavors, add a few drops of vanilla to most recipes that contain fruit, vegetables, meat or fish. #With a love of botany and cooking, President Thomas Jefferson was the first American to bring vanilla to the United States. Jefferson brought vanilla beans home to the US in 1789 following his tenure as ambassador to France. The United States is the largest consumer of vanilla in the world, followed by Europe (France represents most of the European consumption). #A few drops of vanilla will cut the acidity of tomato-based foods. #Vanilla is not only used as a flavor in foods and beverages but also in perfumes. #Vanilla has many industrial applications such as a flavoring for medicines and as a fragrance to conceal the strong smell of rubber tires, paint and cleaning products. #About 2,000-2,500 tons of vanilla beans are produced worldwide each year.

Horse fun facts --Did you know some horses grow mustaches? It’s true, certain especially hairy breeds, can grow mustaches. --Horses cannot burp, vomit, or breathe through their mouths. They only breathe through their noses! --Horses can’t breathe through their mouth . Horses are obligate nasal breathers. This means that they are unable to breathe through their mouth as humans can. Horses can only breathe through their nose. --When exposed to lavender scented air, heart rates in horses lower, feeling calmer while exposed to the lavender. Do you have any scents that help calm you down? --Asleep on their feet! While horses average 1-3 hours of deep sleep while lying down each day, they mostly take shorter naps standing throughout a 24hour period. --Horses have excellent hearing. As a prey animal, horses need to have sensitive hearing to survive. Humans have only three muscles to control their ears, whereas horses have 10! This allows horses to rotate their ears nearly 180 degrees and move them independently of one another. Being able to rotate their ears lets horses hear sounds all around them without having to turn their head. --Horses have a nearly 360-degree field of vision This is due to the positioning of their eyes on the sides of their head. However, they have two blind spots - one directly behind them, and the other directly in-front of their head. This means that they cannot see the grass they are grazing on, or the carrot you are sticking out to them! Instead, they will move their head or use their mobile and sensitive lips, whiskers and sense of smell to know what is in front of them.

SAVOUR THE FACTS!!! - The smell of of perfume changes throughout the day because each perfume contains top, heart and base notes. The top notes are very delicate and usually fade quickly. Heart notes last a bit longer, but it is the base notes that will last the longest. -- Perfumes aren’t necessarily gendered. In fact, one third of men’s fragrances sold are worn by women. Ignore the deceiving marketing and wear the fragrance you want! -- Perfume doesn’t have an expiry date, but it will change over time. This is why you should use it within the first three years. -- To make your perfume last longer, store it in a dark, dry place with no extreme temperature changes. The bathroom or the car are therefore not ideal places to store your perfume. -- The difference between Eau de Toilette and Eau de Parfum comes down to the concentration, or the amount of pure perfume oil within a fragrance. Eau de Toilette, has a perfume concentration of about 10%, whilst Eau de Parfum 15%. Perfumes that are classified as actual Parfum boast a concentration of over 20%. -- You shouldn’t spritz perfume on your hair, even if it makes the smell stronger. Most perfumes contain alcohol, which can dry out your hair. -- Similarly, you shouldn’t rub your wrists against each other after putting on perfume. The friction caused by rubbing your wrists increases the interaction of the fragrance with your skin’s natural oils, which can end up distorting the scent. -- In order to make the best of your perfume and maximize its power, apply the fragrance over specific body areas such as pulse points: on the inner wrists, base of your neck, behind your earlobes, and your inner elbows. -- Avoid testing a massive amount of perfumes in a row. You should go easy and let your nose rest, as it will have trouble differentiating between different perfumes after a while. -- Most perfumes today are not made with real ingredients. Synthetic scents have replaced organic ingredients due to the mass production of perfumes today. -- Research has shown that perfume can alter your mood depending on the ingredients it contains. For example, a fragrance that contains lavender will help you relax, while a citrus-infused scent will awaken your senses.

CALENDAR FUN FACTS!!! --Gregorian Calendar Accurate To 26 Seconds A Year --BC/AD System Introduced in 525 AD --Gregory instituted the calendar on February 24, 1582. Just over a month later, on April 3, to be exact, exclusive rights to publish a book explaining the new calendar were granted to Antoni Lilio. The Lunario Novo secondo la nuova riforma became one of the first printed editions of the new calendar in 1582. Vincenzo Accolti in Rome printed it. --There was once February 30. When Sweden swapped the Julian calendar for the Gregorian they didn’t sacrifice days like other countries. Instead, they placed a February 30 on their calendar. The plan was to omit leap days over the next 40 years to remove those extra ten days. --7 Days of the week. Ever wondered why there are seven days a week? The Gregorian calendar followed the lead of ancient Babylon. Since 600 BCE, the seven-day week was based on the phases of the moon. The last day was set aside as a holy day for the new moon phase.

Interesting CLOUD facts!! ...Thunderstorm clouds can be green and no one knows why....Forget rainbows: fogbows are a thing. They’re mostly colourless though...The psychological phenomenon of seeing objects in clouds is called Pareidolia....You could call a clear blue sky cloudless or, if you want to impress someone, you could call it Enubilous..We invented the word that describes the smell of rain: petrichor. Or, to be more precise, it’s the name of an oil that’s released from the earth into the air when the humidity increases before rain begins to fall....Dandruff floating in the atmosphere helps form clouds. Water needs a surface to turn from vapour to liquid and aerosols (tiny particles suspended in gas) such as dandruff, pollen, algae, fur and bacteria are particularly good at absorbing moisture in the air.
