uhh How to Devour Life is confusing so Ill try to clear some things up for you, the monster (which is also his bag in some scenes) and the headless dragon are all representations of himself, I believe that the headless dragon is the dark part of himself from the past and the monster/bag represents his current self (also I'll refer to the characters by their names, Inochi the main character, and Noppo the bag monster) Inochi has seperated himself from the dragon as seen in the beginning of the video which represents him trying to get away from his past or whatever trauma he has (the headless dragon is his shadow which is a thing from eve's manga, shadows are manifestations of your negative feelings basically so thats why I say he has some kind of trauma) I also say he has trauma we see many connections to the boy from Tokyo Ghetto (Ill call him TG boy) mainly the scene with the garbage can where it glitches and we see his dead body for a few frames and later right before the beautiful instrumental part with the water drop, we see a flashback(probably) with a person standing behind him and it strongly resembles TG boy so that implies that they might have had some sort of relationship (also in the character sheets Inochi tries to smoke but Noppo always takes the cigarette away, the only other character we see smoking up to this point is TG boy, so it seems like he tries to copy or imitate TG boy in a way for some reason) anyways, what else do we know about TG boy, he's dead, his own shadow killed him in his own music video, so that could be the possible trauma that he has that the dragon represents, the scene where he's eating himself (during the instrumental) I think the him that is eating is actually the dragon since his eyes are scribbled out, and we come out of that scene zooming into the him thats being eaten's eyes and come out of Inochi's eyes, so that means that the him that is eating is a different him then the Inochi that we've been following throughout the MV (also a shadow's nature is to eventually consume its host and thats what we're seeing here) so basically that scene is a visual representation of his Trauma eating away at his life, in the end his present self (Noppo (the bag monster)) saves him from his past trauma (the Headless dragon) by chomping down on it and they eat it, and he overcomes his Trauma in the end, so yeah thats basically my theory with a lot of the evidence cut down to fit in a youtube comment lol, if you made it this far thanks for reading!
