Making a fused glass block
The long process of creating a glass block - from construction (between 2-4 hours), to firing (30 hours), to coldworking (4 hours) to get a smooth, polished finished piece.
This piece was inspired by Sunrise at Gore Bay, on the south island of New Zealand.
Each block after firing measures 15cmx20cmx3cm and is 8 layers of glass thick, with glass powders used to create the images.
