This is one of the best and most fascinating episodes I’ve ever listened to. I truly wish and hope it reaches a wide enough audience to impact everyone. I found your channel after an accident last year, and I’ve already mentioned how much your content helped me, especially the episode with Steve Vanderhoek. The chance to hear a top-level professor talk about brain research, also in relation to injuries is something not to be taken for granted. After my concussion, I didn’t receive much help and had to figure things out on my own-it was tough. I’m eternally grateful to the global biking community and to people like you who share such incredible insights through this podcast.
Thanks for not answering the question... What is neurocatch and how does it work? Stop rambling and start answering. This is how you know whatever it is this guy created is utter bullcrap.
Great words!
Thanks mate!
Nice one!! good to know more about Alex! great person, rider and mechanic, wish you the best my friend!
Thanks for your feedback man! Glad you enjoyed the chat with Alex as much as I did.
Hey bro, nice channel one more subscriber, im leaving in Vancouver now. Lets ride sometime💪🏼
Hey man, thanks for the kind words and welcome to the Sea to Sky! - stoked to hear you're enjoying what we have a lot of fun creating! Definitely hit us up to see what rides we have happening next time you're coming to Squamish 🤘
Louise is super cool ⛳
My mind is so dirty 💀 remove the D with G and you have GA-
LOVE It mate
So I'm my younger years bmxing I got in my head a lot and looked at things from the point of the fall. Now starting to finally ride MTB at 34y old I look at it as I KNOW I can do this no matter how gnarly it looks. I trust myself and my bike more. I was riding jumps yesterday that I would of never jumped B4 in my life and was having an absolute blast. You can do anything as long as you set your mind to it. The only thing that's holding you back, is you.
Hey this is rad to hear!! Amazing that you have improved your mental game and built confidence with age - so often I hear the opposite! Keep on shredding !🔥🔥
very helpful, thanks!
Awesome to hear it 😃 thanks for the feedback!
Love this episode!
Thanks for the feedback!

Nice video Jake!
Hey thanks man!
😯👏👏🤟✌️
Awesome! 🤘🤙
I hear her advice & it's good. But the question is really good too & I was hoping for the same answer he might have been. Let's say it's a competition day & the nerves are riding really high because you're about to put it all on the line, you can't exactly pull out because your mind isn't going to allow you to push the boundaries. Cheers team, Kia Ora & welcome to Aotearoa.
Nice riding Jake 🤙🚴♂️
Thanks man!

Hey thanks! Lot's more like this coming 🙂
Good one, Matt.
How good it is if is able to reach my tv down here in the UK thousands of miles away and inspired me to ride on completely another level 🫵🤘🤙😎 Thank You.
Amazing!! Thanks for sharing 🙌🙌 Hope you had an awesome ride 😃
So many high profile riders are getting pushed into promoting crappy Ebikes, leave those for the old and decrepid riders geez. They are not cool, how can a heavy, heavy bike be cool, high profile riders will push anything for the money they are the 304's of mountain biking.
I personally LOVE e-bikes, and that's coming from a guy who is not sponsored whatsoever. But hey, each to their own :)
Next I need to see you doing scrubs down Whistler with Remy 🚲🚲🚲
Absolutely!! That's in the works 😎 make sure you tag him and we'll make it happen!
Nate is such a stylish rider
He's incredible eh!!
Mike has been such a important part of my development as a mountain biker and a coach! He help me really step up my game and to ride my first ever PRO LINE. Can't wait to ride again soon my friend! Great guy and great coach! Nice pod Jake!
Thants so rad to hear!! Thanks for sharing. Stoked you're enjoying the podcast!
Such a great combo of trails! I still need to hit shameless self promotion in the middle. Maybe next summer. For throwdown, I normally run straight in from homebrew or even just go from the landing of the last jump.
Agreed!! I think you're onto something there!
Jake. Geetings. like it,you uploaded super video!🙌
Thanks man! Glad you liked it!

This is sick you should do more
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to let me know if there's anyone in particular you'd like to see me interview/ride with!
I think you got the EV comp a little too high there 😅😂
Hey! Thanks for the feedback - I'm newer to the GoPro world 😅 what would you recommend setting it at for bright conditions like this?
@jakejohnstone The Loam Ranger has a great video on GoPro settings! But I got you! RES | FPS: 4K30 Lens: SuperView Hyper Smooth: Standard PROTUNE SETTINGS: Bit Rate: High Shutter: Auto EV Comp: -1.0 (If its a super super bright day you might wanna go for -1.5 EV Comp) White Balance: 5500K (If its a really cloudy day I would adjust it to 6000K) ISO Min: 100 ISO Max: 3200 Sharpness: Low (I would put on medium sharpness if you aren't going to add sharpness when editing the video) Color: Flat (If you dont want to color correct I would put this on Natural) RAW Audio: High (Higher quality audio but you do have to some editing to put it in. If you dont wanna worry about that just turn this off) Wind: Off (GoPro doesn't do a good job of blocking out wind noise with this feature I would recommend getting some small deadcats and taping them onto the GoPro where the mics are to reduce noise) Hope this helps! These are the setting I use for 99% of my riding and the footage comes out great! Loved the video man! Keep them coming!
@@xElectricblaze Man, thank you so much for the detailed tips!! I'll definitely take this on board for my next recordings :) Stoked to hear you're enjoying the content!
Remove gender from all occasions, it's a construct. But not biological sex, biological sex is real and should be honored.
This inspired me to apply these techniques to all my other sports and I think it’s gonna be a real game changer!
Yo Mark, stoked to hear the techniques resonate! I'm a big believer of honing in these thought processes by using them for other sports as well, and all over our lives for that matter! Keen to hear how it goes for you 🤙
This was a really great discussion. I remember one time when I crashed from my rear tiring catching a railway track. My bike went one way, I went flying another! There were some stunned onlookers wondering if I was OK. The first thing I did, I raised both arms in the air, and yelled out a "Whooo!". It's good to have sense of humor about this sort of thing. After I examined my bike, I went over to a quiet area to sit down and take a closer look at my wounds. While I was there, I also did a round of Emotional Freedom Technique, to discharge any energetic residue from the trauma of the crash. While it never hurts to have some self-healing tools, it in no way replaces professional help!
Hey @lihtan! We're stoked to hear you enjoyed the conversation. That's a great point you add there, I love the idea of letting go of and processing emotions brought on by a crash, before continuing the ride. And 100% agree, professional help is key I'd argue to learning the right tools for you. Happy trails - Jake
Worth the listen!
Stoked you enjoyed the conversation as much as I did! Gully has an amazing outlook and the years of hard work really show!
Just go for the handshake bro😅
Haha, yep high fives are out for sure. I switched to fist bumps only for the latest round of interviews. Had a much higher success rate 😂
Nice one!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Let's go!
