Lake Erie Tribs Late November 2024
A quick one day trip to the Lake Erie tributaries in Steelhead Alley. Took the Spey rod and chased the steelhead form dawn until lunch time. Fly fishing with a tube fly on the swing was great.

My friend Ray from Ontario, Canada spend three days with me fly fishing for steelhead in steelhead alley. The Great Lakes tributaries are very low and clear and we needed rain, Lake Erie in particular. With those conditions we did do some searching for fish and good water. Ray was able to experience the full Buffalo and Western New York environment. We were able to get him on steelhead but more...

The internet and people clout fishin is why you are standing there in the dark
@@boblove6865 thanks for watching 👍
That’s an excellent catch! Would you mind sharing the location of this creek?
So good!
Thanks man! Happy Thanksgiving
@ same to you! 🍗
You need a Timmies marketing deal 🤌🤌
@@BeyondtheMend yes!! I saw your Tims cup in your last video. Let’s collaborate with them 😂
@ now that’s an idea!
didn't really get to see the first fish....camera not pointing at it!
@@alexrocco5224 yeah not my best work but I tried
Wishing I were there to play goalie! 😂 Though I'm OK with missing Pumpkin Spice Latte day 🤢
ROFL
That peter griffin laugh 😂😂
@@johnnybizzle370 haha it does sound like him 😂
You never forget your first! 🎉
@@nicolelewis9812 Ray is now addicted for sure!
nice
I always hit Duff's when I'm up there. It's true that its hard to find a bad wing in Buffalo. If you go to a restaurant and you want something good you can always order wings, unless they try to do some stupid fancy wings.
Haha exactly! I want 10 wings hot with blue cheese… period.
Two guys eating and drinking.
@@steveg8322 that’s pretty close to it! 👍
i wonder what tastes better, the steelheads or the pizza ;) nice film guys
@@UnderwaterFishFilms haha I’m going with the pizza
Love when they slide away so quickly 😅
Slimey torpedo haha
HHAHA exactly!
Without wind they wont bite really lol
Been some beauties around this year! Great watch
@@BeyondtheMend for sure brother tough conditions early but we’re getting rain!
Enjoying the videos man. Keep them coming!
@@BeyondtheMend thanks man. I’m enjoying your content too 👍

@@DDKirkpatrick thanks Denny!
It makes me happy to see videos like this. Its upsetting folks like you and your friends are a dying breed. Keep these videos coming brotha!
Thanks Jake! We need to get together and fish soon
nicely done!
Thanks brother!
I feel your pain. Went 1 for 15 the other day at salmon r. All fresh fjsh. If you want steelhead come to salmon river now
@@ryancoleman1 yeah! I’ve been following some of the guys fishing the Salmon on FB and it looks like it’s fishing well 👍
Hold on 6.14 gor a coffee 🫨
@@michaellennemann7850 ahh I had to go back and listen. It’s actually 3.14. Still a little pricey though
Hell yeah bro
@8:25 the "break off" is because you are just raking flies across fish... they aren't actually eating. not saying you are intentionally snagging, but that wasn't an eat. @1:57 was an obvious eat
Maybe but it's hard to snag a fish with a swung tube fly. It can certainly happen though.
PS thanks for watching so long!
@@robjeeves1972 looks like a ton of weight bouncing on the bottom pulled across the current, not a swung fly... the leader will slide the fly right into the side of the fish. That's when you feel no "pull" or head shake, just a bolting/spooked fish... not saying it was intentional snagging, but that much weight bouncing sideways across the current leads to foul hookups
But their ethical fly guys so they no not what they do 😅
Another video guy - man - fish for your memories not ours 🤫
Very cool 😎 Couple of beautiful fish, and what a beautiful day. Cheers!
@@BeardlyGentlemen thanks Ray. Less than a month til your trip here
That water looks perfect! Good for you!
@@dalegribble5314 thanks! We could use a little rain but still fishing ok 👍
Awesome video once again!!
@@robertprytula oh thanks man!
Tried eating a steelhead once they are not good eating unless you like fishy fish
Totally agree! I don't care for them at all but they are good fighters lol
Sucks they weren’t biting for you, buddy. I’ve been there. Great video…watched it the whole way through.
@@JoeIsOut2lunch thanks brother I’m glad you liked it!
I was once told the secret walleye spot in Tamagami. The whole weekend I could see schools of smallmouth bass in 20 feet of water…crystal clear. It was infested with bass LOL
@@JoeIsOut2lunch beautiful water for sure. 👍
12:50 lesson in Canadian “That’s a nice fish eh?” Not “huh”. 😂
@@JoeIsOut2lunch haha yes. I just wasn’t there long enough to adapt
Glad you had fun my man! And I'd rather catch a mean fish than no fish any day of the week 😂
@@BeardlyGentlemen it was a great trip thanks for the guiding
I now need to get my passport redone so I can go to Temagami Ontario! Glad you called in to Tony Sanders Outdoors on your drive up to make a local radio show international!! The food (especially the breakfasts) looked wonderful!! Fish were caught and fun was had!!
@@robertprytula thanks Rob! Glad you liked it. Get your passport going 👍
You're more than welcome to come experience some Canadian hospitality any time my friend. I think Mr Jeeves can attest that I'm a pretty good local guide 😂
You keep making these videos and I'm not getting a lot of work done sir... Thanks for sharing!
@@jakeknier7385 haha glad you liked it. Tough conditions at times but a lot of fun.

@@nicolelewis9812 and there were no other folks on the stream 👍
I felt the OH CRAP parts in my soul. Cottage looks great but not smoking in the cottage must be weird 😮 Nice fish!
@@BeardlyGentlemen haha yeah those hurt. It was kind of weird for sure
Good stuff Rob...
Thanks Fred!
I need to get up that way and fish those bows are so much fun.
Yea man it's been too long for sure... steelhead will be running before we know it

I lost a huge Smallie cause I ripped it out of its mouth yesterday. Heartbreaking! 😂
Nicely done Rob (however, not sure about a bamboo rod guy and instant coffee!)
Haha any port in a storm I guess 😂
I'll get him a moka pot and we'll film proper coffee-making next trip I get down to the States 😂
Nice
Thanks Scott 👍
I liked for Bos
Omg yes!! this was my Canadian friend Ray’s first trip to the south. Bo’s was the highest priority
Great job Rob!!!
Thanks man glad you liked it!
Trip of a lifetime! Though I hope not, cause I hope I get to do it all over again next year 😁 Great job documenting the trip, that would have been a lot of work editing all that footage 👏
Let’s book the air bnb now 👍
Awesome video!! Great seeing all the PFF’ers and the wonderful tribute to JT!!
Thanks Rob glad you liked it!
Great job Rob....a special group of folks for sure. Hope to see you in the Fall for our next PFF fix!
