*Title:* Can gravitational-wave astronomy be the renaissance of stellar astrophysics?
*Abstract:* Within the next 10-20 years, merging pairs of stellar black holes and neutron stars detected in gravitational waves (GW) will arguably become the best measured state in the evolution of massive stars across entire Cosmic History. We are now faced with the 'Interpretation Challenge' of how to understand the observed population and link them to the progenitor stars and galaxies. Many formation channels have been proposed across various environments (isolated, dynamical, gas-rich) and from all the redshifts. This paints an exciting but also a complex picture, with rather few constraints to limit the creativity of modelers. I will go over how binary evolution and stellar interactions may contribute to the GW landscape and discuss the role of stellar surveys in refining the models.

*Title:* Crossing new frontiers on massive stars with the next generation of observatories *Abstract:* We still do not know how massive stars live and die because we have not yet fully characterized a number of physical processes critical to their evolution. In this talk I will overview a selection of these open questions that are pushing contemporary observatories and instrumentation to their ...

*Title:* The evolution of massive binary stars *Abstract:* Massive stars play a key role in the evolution of the universe at large scales, providing mechanical and radiative feedback and driving the chemical evolution of the universe. It has also been identified that the majority of them are in compact binary systems, close enough to interact during their lifetimes and modify their evolutionary...

*Title:* IFS spectroscopic maps of the youngest and most massive stars in the Tarantula nebula and beyond. *Abstract:* Massive stars are the primary chemical and dynamic engines of the Universe, and crucial objects for interpreting phenomena in high-redshift galaxies. Yet, our understanding of their formation and evolution remains incomplete. Populating the upper part of the HRD, where the most...

*Title:* Numerical experiments to help connect internal and surface properties of massive stars *Abstract:* The evolution of massive stars is affected by a variety of physical processes, including convection, rotation, mass-loss, and binary interaction. Because these processes modify the internal chemical abundance profiles in multiple ways simultaneously, it can be challenging to determine whi...

*Title:* Nucleosynthesis, winds and chemical yields of very massive stars *Abstract:* The most massive stars provide an essential source of recycled material for young clusters and galaxies. While very massive stars (VMS, with an initial mass larger than 100 Msol) are relatively rare compared to O stars, they lose disproportionately large amounts of mass already from the onset of core Hydrogen ...

*Title:* Impact of adopting hydrodynamically consistent winds on stellar evolution *Abstract:* Mass loss by radiatively driven stellar winds is an important parameter which affects the main sequence evolution of massive stars. In recent years new studies concluded that actual mass-loss rate values are lower than previously assumed, thus new stellar evolution models upgrading mass loss recipes a...

*Title:* OB Associations: History, Recent Results and their Role in Modern Astrophysics *Abstract:* OB associations are unbound groups of young stars made prominent by their bright OB members, and have long been thought to be the expanded remnants of dense star clusters. They have been important in astrophysics for over a century thanks to their luminous massive stars, though their low-mass mem...

*Title:* Multiwavelength studies of OB stellar variability *Abstract:* Once believed to exhibit little variability due to their "simple", radiative envelopes, OB stars have been revealed by increasingly sophisticated instruments to vary across the entire electromagnetic spectrum, and over a large range of timescales. In this talk, I will review some recent advances and discoveries that were mad...

*Title:* Retracing the footsteps of dying massive stars *Abstract:* In this talk I will present how the Binary Population And Spectral Synthesis (BPASS) data can be used to characterise the host environment of explosive transients (supernovae, kilonovae, luminous red novae) and then quantify their most likely evolutionary history, allowing for self-consistent analyses of these events. I will sh...

*Title:* Massive overcontact binaries: a crucial constraint for massive binary evolution *Abstract:* Given that mergers are often invoked to explain many exotic phenomena in massive star evolution, understanding the evolutionary phase directly preceding a merger, the overcontact phase, is of crucial importance. Nearly a quarter of all massive stars will evolve through a contact phase at some po...

*Title:* An asteroseismic view of internal mixing and angular momentum transport in B-type stars *Abstract:* Stars born with convective cores on the main-sequence are highly influenced by internal mixing, which along with angular momentum transport constitute some of the dominant uncertainties in their stellar structure and evolution theory. Such internal mixing, if efficient, can replenish the...
