The Navy Arms Channel
United States
Приєднався 22 вер 2014
The official UA-cam channel for Navy Arms, LLC. Navy Arms is the oldest brand in 18th and 19th Century replica firearms and was founded by Val Forgett, Jr., the "Father of the Replica Firearms Industry". Mr. Forgett was also a prominent international arms dealer and firearms collector. His son, Val Forgett III, purchased the company from his late father's Estate when Val, Jr. passed away in 2002. In 2005 Val III acquired Old Western Scrounger from "Dangerous Dave" Cumberl and merged both companies in Martinsburg, West Virginia . Dave founded OWS to make and sell obsolete and hard to find ammo calibers. Val III expanded that line and also made OWS an internet sales site for the ammo and other cool military guns and collectables, including guns brought in by Navy Arms.

Переглядів 4,5 тис.2 роки тому
This is the first-hand account of how Navy Arms founder, Val Forgett, Jr. cleared the famed Bannerman's Island of all live ordnance before its sale by the Bannerman Family in 1958. Less well known is that this job to clear the island is how Val obtained the funding for his first contract with Gregorelli-Uberti for the first replica 1851 Colt revolvers made by Navy Arms. Ted was featured on ShootingUSA's "Impossible Shots" We are posting this both in honor of Ted, who recently passed away, as well as to dispel the myth that Ted did not make these shots or that this was edited for the show. This is a continuous video of Ted making two headshots, then, ...
A close freind of mine Bob Ferris (Uncle Bob) from Yuma told me of his visit back in the 80's may have been earlier when Val first purchased the building

Please, Believe what I'm about to share here is the Absolute Truth: When myself and 6 other friends rowed out to Pollepel Island/Bannerman's Island Arsenal in 1992/93/94/95 etc, the Castle Grand Staircase with a Guard Post on the right corner before ascending the staircase (No longer there), which collapsed in on itself after Hurricane Floyd in 1999, and was the Only real damage to that staircase' entire area which wasn't so crudely demolished as it looks today. . . WHO DID THIS?? It was still together and as presentable as your neighbors property dividing wall would be and Not look as if someone took a sledge-hammer to the whole length of the top stone slabs (granite/concrete) that was NOT like that in 1999 and the Full Four Walls of the Main Castle structure were still standing and intact but almost All of the Eastern Wall is now GONE!! There is No rubble on either side of where that Eastern Castle Wall once was, so Where is it? Where did it go? Why is there Now a Need for these ridiculous (hollow plastic tubes(?)) propped up against the Western & Southern Wall to the left of the once Beautiful & Intact Southern Wall that looks like a Lunatic went Nuts on it with a Sledge Hammer? They were PERFECT & Beautiful in 1999 . . . what happened to them? Is "Bannerman's Island Trust" removing and Destroying Real History? It has been happening for a Long Time, and Everyone needs to believe that because it's the Truth. Did the "Bannerman Island Trust" approve of the partial Demolition and Theft of Original "Bannerman Castle Material" such as the brick and possibly carved/molded original 'Figureheads and/or Coat-of-Arms Medallions' to be used at the Fake Non-Reproduction of NOTHING that Ever existed at "Bannerman's Island Arsenal" and yet presents this FRAUD to the Public as Original "Bannerman's Island Arsenal" structures, part of the Original Castle, Moat, Drawbridge, Outer Perimeter Defense Turrets etc, etc.? The structure at the highest point of Pollepal Island that was made/formed/forged and constructed using Original brick, Stonework, carvings, molds etc, of archeological significance and value was taken/stolen from the original for this Fake structure that was Not there in 1999 but built sometime afterwards using original parts from the original Castle which was scavenged for anything to make the Fake look authentic and should those facts alone be enough to sway anyones opinion Not knowing that the Fake was contrived and a Lie explains why the world Is the way it is. Why were certain parts of the Western & Southern Walls and almost the Entire Eastern Wall, which is GONE and most likely used for building the False/Fake/imagined structure now where there was Nothing but the bare rock and one bench there in 1999? To convince those in the future and make it look authentic when this False Model/Exhibit/Display/Forgery was Never there even 100 years After the 'Bannerman Estate & Castle' was actually built? There is No debris of that missing Eastern Wall to be seen inside or outside of it is there, NO, because that brick was relocated to the very Top High Point of the Island They are trying to pass-off as the Original Build of Bannerman's Island Arsenal & Castle . . . they DESTROYED the Original that was Only begun to be built 120 odd years ago, was finished and lived in till the Powder Stock Room on the North Side just below the lettering that spells out "BANNERMAN'S ISLAND ARSENAL" blew up and out said by the Insurance Company to have been caused by a clerks cigar ash igniting the storage room, the largest of all others, and Blew Up. It Did happen but the how was Always in question. Nonetheless, What was done to this Beautiful Marvel was a Crime Against All Humanity, Archeological & Geographical Investigations that were interested in 'dating' it and Everything else that a Man-of-Means who was wealthy and dreamed of having his Own Castle and was entitled to and do with his money as he wanted, there is Nothing Wrong with that. The problem or mystery for the rest of the world is of how and when it was built. I have already given the real estimated date(s) of when it was built but didn't add the fact that I have built houses and Everything that's inside them for over 40 years, and when I first investigated the Castle I was told by my friend that it was from the 'American Revolution' and I stated that couldn't be so. When he asked why not, I told him that "Iron 'I' Beams were Not yet used in Any Construction much less in castles, nor clothwrapped electrical wires and conduit pipe most likely installed in the mid-1920's to 30's." He then asked when I thought this Castle was built and I said, "Just at the turn of the century." He thought I couldn't be right but considered my profession and we all went back to crawling allover that castle, the basement, Sallyport, moat and surveyed the spot where the Drawbridge/Gate had been. About 4 days later he brought a book/magazine to my place and said, "Wow, you are right, it was built around 1902 . . " and the rest is all pretty Well documented. The undeniable Fact is the original was Plundered for it's Original brick and whatever could be used to build and attempt to pass off a replication that resembled the Original but was Never there till sometime after 2000. On the Highest Point of the Island was a Prop that was NOT there or Any part of the Original Build but was made as convincingly as possible to have Visitors BELIEVE that what they were seeing, standing in/on at the "Tourist Center" now seen at the Highest Point of the island that was NEVER EVEN THERE the last time I was there in 1999 and there was NOTHING EVER BUILT THERE and Only a bench was ever there as it was the highest point of the island where a path would take Mr. & Mrs.Frances Bannerman to the top of the Island to see the Sunset or whatever would have come to mind there with maybe a little Erotic exhibitionism or voyeurism. Whoever it was from the so-called "Bannerman's Island Trust" that allowed for the theft and destruction of the Original Castle Wall and the terrible destruction of that once Beautiful Castle Structure that was still in Great shape till parts of the Original were destroyed to make the Fake section that was Never there till sometime after the year 2000. DAMN Them to HELL!!
These were $69.00 in 1986, an sks was $99.00. im not paying extortion fees for things made by the millions
Well, they are already sold out but your point that quality C&Rs skyrocket in value is 100% correct. Guns like these will continue to appreciate in value.
i am contemplating an Italian o/u
What an incredible account of the history - and danger, of this island. So glad this gentleman shared his story with us, and generations to come.
No it's not an upgraded version of the 36. They kept the bolt and built a whole new weapon around. That was the frf1, chambered in 7.5 French. Then from the f1 they extrapolated a new version to use the 7.62 nato: the f2.
Correct, that’s what the term “upgraded version“ means, and also what the French military personnel who I spoke with when buying these weapons referred to it as.
Gotta admit, you guys have been killing it. We will be picking one of these up for sure.
Val Jr. is a phony. Avoid the company altogether.
I picked up six today including two made by MAS. I never even DREAMED these pistols would be imported. Get them while you can because this may well be a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Mind is blown 🤯 Glad to see you guys back in action
That is an awesome find! Looks good. The French made some excellent firearms.
I wish you guys still imported .32 rimfire ammo.
Holy fck that outro made me age like 40 years instantly
For most of my adult life, beginning with my time in the Army 63 years ago, I have had a fascination with the Island. This is a valuable record of the story of its history. If you are a weapons person, this is a terrific account........enjoy...
I have a navy arms 58 cal percussion smooth bore muzzle loader, any info I would really appreciate, have a great day
I could spend a lifetime checking out those guns. Keep up the great work guys
Fantastic! It makes me really happy to see that these "old" rifles get a new home within the US. Old .22 Anschütz Rifles more often then not end up in the furnace, because hardly anyone is willing to give up a valvuable slot on their firearms license for a 22 match rifle they hardly shoot. It always breaks my heart when I see some shooting club throw one out because they cant even find one to take it for free
Anything C&R?
..when I was a small boy my dad used to take me to your dad's shop, Navy Arms, in Ridgefield Park when he would go to Nidisco for parts
Can you give me any more info on your old No.7 “Jungle Carbine” conversions you’d do on old ishapores
I bought mine from a friend with 2 clips and the original bayonet for $15
The new classic firearms… here we go fellas
DO FAMAS NEXT!!!!!
Tours of the island are available. Minus the live ordnance, of course... :)
This is great!
Can you please send a shipment to NZ! They are in hot demand here, especially if it's all matching numbers
I doubt it. Hard enough getting them into the USA alone. Let alone re export to nz.
start remanufacturing the enfeild there...
@@kevniel3135 yeah right, our socialist/communist leader doesn't want citizens to have firearms. All part of the UN agenda
I can't even get a shotgun license here in the UK because I was a naughty boy back in the day, and then I see all those beautiful Lee - Enfields that I can't get my sticky fingers on. Life is a b*tch. Oh well
move to the US... I have No4 mk2 out here in California
What prices ?
i grew up with lots of family's next to my house in 1955 who was in ww2 . it was cool . military dads kids are better
PP = Philippines?
Either Mk 4 no.1 or no.2 love the Enfield in my opinion the best bolt action military rifle. Love your the action smoothness and it's 10 round magazine. Plus the flip up peep sight if equipped
Fantastic
How do they know these were "dropped to the French partisans"? They could have been supplied to the Free French forces as part of their normal supply lines after 1944.
We don’t make this claim lightly. If you visit our Facebook page the research done provides you the answer.
@@thenavyarmschannel1108 As a fan of military history, I will certainly read it. Thanks!

ALL RIFLE.
The French?!….why did we hand over crates of still issued British Army rifles to the bloody French?!!🤷♂️🫣😉
Unless we dropped them to the french resistance, and then they were handed in or confiscated at the end of the war?
I could be wrong but I think there were free french forces fighting with the allies . Seems like I heard that the allied forces stopped short of Paris so that degaule could lead the way into the city at the head of a french force
@@outinthesticks1035. No you are correct, the free french armoured units were under Gen Leclerc.
@@pauldurkee4764 thank-you for correcting me on who the commander was . It might have been 40 years ago I read that
I remember when these were selling for $25.00 in Paducah Kentucky in the early 90’s. What are they going for now?
$900-1250! 😮😮😮
@@RLew-ks9tt my god what a fool I was for not buying as many as I could get my hands on.
@@u.s.militia7682 me too!!!
Guess I'm much older. I remember them for $9.95
i believe the ones selling in the 90s were Indian ishapore enfields.
They are excellent rifles! Very accurate! Savage made thousands for the British..
I fill my Deer Tag every November with one Enfield or another, I have a couple to choose from. The .303 is a sure bet for big Northern Whitetails.
Took 5 deer out of Manistee County in Michigan with No. 4 Mark 1. 2.5 X Bushnell shotgun scope over a scope mount that clamps with a sockethead cap screw through the charger guide. Very consistent zero.
Hands down, the fastest firing bolt action ever. Love not having to break cheek weld to cycle it.
I can keep a cheek weld with any bolt gun i have...
K-31
Yea, you got me with the straight pulls.
Can you really maintain a solid cheek weld while cycling a bolt action?
With a normal bolt rifle, we don’t break cheek to stock weld because the bolt itself interferes, but rather the bolt handle hits your face. Too much arc when you lift and lower the handle. The Lee-Enfields solved this by using a short arc bolt handle throw. This gave a very fast repeater for a bolt battle rifle. Like 30+ aimed rounds in a minute with stripper clip mag reloads. Seems incredible today, but it was common back in the day. Even better are the straight pull bolts.
never saw one, how good are they?
