Kenesaw Mountain Landis: Baseball's First Commissioner
If I ever get recognized for the work I do in my field, I want to be titled "a menace to the dignity of the profession."
It’s the highest of scumbag praise.
It's a wonderful movie just remember it's not real
Fox News equal coverage of both sides?
They are a right wing news source
That’s what the MSM wants you to believe
E
Ayyy this movie is ART! Discovered it not too long ago. We can’t be mad at history. It’s also an old movie musical so of course it won’t be ideal in today’s standards and none of those things happen in real life. But the barn dance and Lonesome Polecat are my favorites in the movie!!!
Nobody is mad at the barn dance!
My favourite parts too. ❤
some people are just unlucky
The cowboys are a joke
They’re just resting for a Super Bowl run next year
That’s it ! 😂
Yall should be could uglydudes podcast with your haristyle and beard choices
Roasted
@oddballhistorypodcast That was unnecessary and mean. I was just preparing you for hate comments if you ever make it. They are always there. Keep grinding.
I don’t think the sun has ever worked in the cowboys favor in any game
“Maybe I’ll become a highway man again, or I may simply be a single drop of rain” remember that part?
TMI
Grandparents showed me this movie several times. Still enjoy it.
The heroic age of medicine is truly a thing of wonder
The show finds itself there quite a bit
Shao Tucker?
Had to google it, but yes. He was that guy
On the topic of merch: Imagine an oddball history calendar, filled with strange shit from the past for like every day or every week. "On this day in 1544, a dutch village tried and hanged a donkey for seducing the mayors wife." or some shit like that. Would buy instantly.
The kid doesn’t miss. Also RIP Mr. Nibbles, the Dutch donkey sancho
It’s not “sobbin”, like crying. It’s the Sabine women of Rome….
They say sobbing
@@oddballhistorypodcastit’s because he is not the brightest star in the sky, so he confused the two words, but he does say both at the very start of the song.
Who had to fight the chimp to put the thermometer into the rectum??????
Sadly a question lost to the sands of time.
One of my favorite movies
Went back and watched it after Scott brought it up, it’s a gem.
@@oddballhistorypodcast I watch it at least three times a year. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack everyday too. I really do love it
@@oddballhistorypodcastyou should have taped your reaction to it! Is there a link to this full discussion rather than just this one minute clip? Also would love a reaction to the early 50s musical Calamity Jane. If you loved 7 Brides, you will love CJ. It even has an adorable/hilarious drag performance in it! (I’ve Got a Hive Full of Honey (For the Right Kind of Honey Bee))
It's one of my favourite musicals ever. I also love Brigadoon, Meet Me In St Louis and GiGi. There are so many more. ❤❤❤
This is very relevant in the conversation surrounding gun violence and gun laws. The US owns the most guns per capita, but we don’t lead the world in suicides or in gun related crimes per capita. In fact guns save lives way more than they take lives every year in the US. They had to remove that stat from the CDC website so people wouldn’t know that there are up to 3million defensive uses of firearms every year compared to the 15k killed in violent crimes by a gun.
Dont normalize this wierdos.
I doubt this goofy shit bird ain't hitting anything from 200 yards.
I love this it is so true.
Lmfao
*scrolling FAR AWAY FROM THIS TOPIC😆🫣🫥🫢🤐
wild lmmfao hahahha
More than half they just arent registered or "legal"
Most parts of the country it’s legal to have unregistered guns
360ish million american with an estimated 400 million guns, are more accurate numbers.
That's because most guns are owned by stable people
This hopefully wont have to change we are trying to use the legal system to protect ourselves but if its too corrupt...
Each verse represents both the moral and technological innovation as they progress through the reincarnation cycle.
Wonderful episode, something about apes is inherently funny. Imagine an ape doing human things. Hysterical. I'm gonna keep up my streak and suggest a topic by reading Pete Stegemeyer's book Heist, it has 100 stories about heists in it, maybe there's some interesting bits in there.
Thank you kind sir, will look into it! We have 2 episodes about heists, 38: Santa Claus Robbery, and 12: Stealing Lincolns corpse (varying stages of video and the format of the show improving over time)
First
Might be the only!
Your research is very lacking, probably on purpose. But if you read a little deeper you'll find important context you're leaving out. Chiropractic was in the beginning stages of development and was quite literally persecuted by medical doctors and the government regulators who sought to destroy the Chiropractic profession. This was proven in federal court where the American Medical Association was found to have conspired to destroy Chiropractic (Wilk v AMA). D.D. Palmer was getting creative on how to protect Chiropractic from this persecution and influenced by Mrs. Eddy and the Christian Science church, he was advocating a religious exemption. D.D. Palmer's son, B.J. Palmer didn't agree with this path and eventually Chiropractic won in court on merit. Chiropractors were being thrown in jail for practicing medicine without a license, it was a big deal at the time. The letter you're quoting from in this clip says as much that D.D. was talking about establishing a religion for purposes to protect the profession not establish a cult. It doesn't take more than basic reading comprehension to figure that out.
Thanks for watching!
Tarrare?
That’s the guys name. Probably a nickname.
Fuckin stupid 10/10
There was one british guy that killed like 4 of the 10 deadliest animals in human history. maybe make an episode about him? would love your take on him!
Do you know the name by chance? I'm seeing Jim Corbett, British guy that killed man-eating tigers and leopards.
@@oddballhistorypodcast Exactly that one!
They broke this down hilariously on Harmontown
Its not much, but its honest work.
"I fly a starship across the universe divide." He was a spaceship pilot, not a spaceship. 😂
They are idiots talking about a song they've heard once
Ummmm, the song is literally all about reincarnation, every verse.
Wasn't it originally just a British dude singing this song? It's just a story about a time traveler making his venture, one life at a time.
He's not a rocket ship. He flies a rocket ship.
Almost; he just says he will: "I'll fly a star ship across the universe divide And when I reach the other side I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can Perhaps I may become a highwayman again Or I may simply be a single drop of rain But I will remain And I'll be back again and again and again And again and again and again" For those for whom it wasn't clear: the song is about reincarnation. Each person described is the same spirit experiencing a different life. Since he's reincarnating 'again and again and etc.', he'll eventually end up flying a star ship.
Its each life a dangerous job / bravery a bit not just being a highwayman you all are getting stuck but if your just being playful if the lyrics thats cool to music is for everyone and im sure they would live that yall still listen to them
Thank you Waffle On Syrup.
Perfect example of why freedom to post stupid stuff is what ruined our world! 🤦🏻♂️
World seems pretty cool
I don't get this tho

No he opened Lodi
I worked at a cheap motel in Minneapolis and it was pretty common for foreigners to ask for call girls at the front desk , and in Las Vegas that was prolly ok too. But not so much in Minneapolis.
Are these AI generated? Who put the headline? Cia?
It was both the CIA and the KGB. Listen to the whole podcast. Or jump off something?
@oddballhistorypodcast the Cia and the kgb together? Ummm no. He referenced two different situations. The kgb was the whore filming.
