Hopefully when I'm ready one day I got an engine like this or a deutz ultra reliable except the German engine only uses oil for everything there is no antifreeze there is no coolant nothing like that but I also love the two-stroke Detroit You know when that thing comes alive warming up that you're good something like this with a giant battery bank and you're good to go hell if you just need to do a little bit of power even an APU off a semi would do well with a 6,000 watt generator head maybe add more and or have a few of them besides a big generator solar panels and a giant battery bank and you're good to go at least you can operate solar you can heat up your stuff especially in the winter time You need power utility company goes out whatever You're good to go you'll be able to make power 24/7 regardless whether it's diesel fuel or solar or if you have some wind also don't forget about that but I'm going by the ones more that are reliable as in we know it's going to come around at some point in time

Only time I saw any soot in the exhaust was when you goosed it that one time. These things were always intended to put out a wisp of black smoke whenenever carburetor-is-wide-open (not governor setting - the actual throttle butterfly is "standing on end")

A good friend had an old bobcat with a V4D. Out of cylinder overbores - but I have machine tools. Put Tecumseh ten horse pistons in it (like .055 over standard) then had to fit bronze bushings in top of rods for skinnier wristpins. Then I had to shove a slug of bronze down to the center of the wristpins to bring their weight up to spec. (looked funny with short piston tops and skirts - but hey it worked.) Pistons lacked 1/2" of reaching top of bore. So first I fitted smaller modern spark plugs in the heads and then filled the combustion chamber up halfway with MIG welding aluminum. The flat part of the head over the bore got a half-circle 7/16" piece of aluminum fitted and retained perfectly to it over the the side of the bore AWAY from the valves. That motor had battery powered points distributor and it got Ford Duraspark innards going with a Duraspark coil and amplifier box. Worst part of entire job was custom-adapting a Kohler starter gear to it's original Backward-Turning Delco starter. < which had dead rotor windings. I learned these were the only BACKWARDS-TURNING Delcos ever made. You cannot reverse a conventional starter motor's rotation even if you switch it's internal connections of it's field windings. So I took a regular Pontiac V8 starter and took off it's bearing plate and made a coupler to the original starter's output shaft. It looked silly with a splined shaft sticking out the other end and there was no room for it in the tractor so I made an aluminum cover for that end that had a ball bearing in it that rode on the tops of the original (now cut off) spiral Bendix drive. There was more fun in the form of moving the blower-fan housing over about 5/16 so the starter (which bolts to fan housing) gear could be made to mesh with the flywheel (its also the fan) ring gears. I slotted the holes, four new holddown bolts with custom steel washers - and when I got it adjusted I welded the washers in place over the slots. I then had to beat all the sheet metal on the air-cooled beast over 5/16". Went with electric fuel pump. That was about 2007. My buddy still using it with nothing but oil changes. It won't dig dirt - IT'S A LOADER NOT AN EXCAVATOR - but it has done everything else that was ever asked of it.

When I was a kid I learned that you could pop some great wheelies on our Jubilee. Dad rarely ever cough me and some Angel kept me from flipping on over!

I operated the 8HP model and could not ask for more power. You can reverse the tines with the wheel set for the front and it doesn't bounce like a tiller, but the wheel are needed to keep it from just digging a deer hole. I have never understood why they discontinued making them.❤😊

US Navy PCF (Patrol Craft, Fast) aka "SWIFT Boat" engine - every SWIFT Boat had 2 of them for power... I remember the sound well.

I used to service a 480V/3 phase gen set with a 502 turbocharged Chevy, on LPG, as the prime mover. That big block went from cold to 4 grand in a heart beat, the turbo spooling up sent shivers down yer back!
