Wall of text AU: Yamah (Yamaha is a trombone brand) Sans plays his trombone, plaguing Papyrus's life with incidental music. This causes Papyrus to get mad and throw the trombone down the stairs. This startles Sans as Papyrus scolds him for his annoying shenanigans. Papyrus gets a little too close for comfort, and Sans pushes him down the stairs onto the beat up trombone, both breaking the instrument and causing his body to shatter into dust. Alphys was over at the time to help Sans with the machine in the workshop. When she saw Papyrus's dusty head on the ground, she panicked and told Sans to bring his head to the True Lab. In the True Lab, Alphys injects Papyrus's head, still intact at the moment, with determination, trying to perserve it and keep Papyrus alive. Papyrus goes through severe pain as his head melts into determination and fading to dust. Alphys, ashamed of what she had done, became more anxious than ever and rarely left the True Lab. Sans locked himself away in his house and slept for a long time, adopting the persona Yamah in his dreams in an attempt to forget about what he did. All he knew, was that everything would be okay because the next reset would happen eventually. It did not happen.
