The New Ducati Scrambler Icon Simple And Agile
The Brembo-squozen 330mm single front disc works better than it should and the rear is easy to modulate too. The Pirelli MT 60 RS rubber also provides excellent grip on the tarmac despite its dirt track-inspired looks.
The story still is, with the Scrambler Icon, you get what you see. It’s an easy-to-use, basic motorcycle that motorcycles quite well - it’s just a little less basic than before.
According to Adam Child’s first ride review on Motorcyclist, the Scrambler’s engine is approachable, yet wickedly entertaining. “Power delivery is soft and friendly, and there is a lovely connection, even at low speeds,” Child says. “I’m always pleasantly surprised by its energetic and well-measured performance, which is more than enough for the road and cruising along at freeway speeds without it feeling breathless.”
The Nightshift’s neutral handling is just as happy traversing through town as it is on the highway. Its claimed dry weight of 397 pounds is flickable and what we consider to be toylike at times. The OE-fitted Pirelli MT 60 tires work well with great feel and versatility in varying conditions, helping improve corner-carving confidence with responsiveness.
A single four-piston caliper up front and one-piston at the rear grab hold of 330 and 245mm discs respectively. These single discs are more than capable and aren’t too abrupt. Cornering ABS is a welcome rider aid that isn’t intrusive.
Real-world mpg tallied in at 52 mpg during testing. With a 3.6-gallon fuel tank that mpg will deliver more than 150 miles per tank.
The rider is positioned over the fuel tank for a racier feel, but the flat and narrow handlebar is more relaxed than it appears. In our first ride review, we found, “You feel more obliged to hang off the Scrambler midcorner, rather than sit back and simply turn in a conventional manner. [We] like it, though, the riding position encourages you to tuck in and stretch the cable a little more.”
Cornering ABS comes standard and is carried over from past Scramblers. Other rider aids like traction control are not included.
A 24-month, unlimited-mileage warranty comes with the Nightshift.
At the end of the day the Nightshift is an easy bike to ride with a charming engine, admirable brakes and tires, and light, flickable handling. It can be easily personalized with OEM accessories too.
Having previously had the Ducati Urban Motard on loan, I was eager to find out what the new 2024 model Scrambler was like and had the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift on loan from my local Ducati dealer.
This is a light bike to both maneuver and ride with a wet weight of 191 kg and a dry weight of 176 kg.

You're speculating on its power and next you state that would make it strongest in class. That's a whole bunch of BS. Anybody can speculate about anything and then pronounce it a winner, doesn't mean it's so. And where do you get a redline of 16k? The tach shows 12k which is quite low for a 500cc in line.Also the two round air inlets in the front makes it look like a pre 1990 FZR, a 35 year old bike for goodness sake. They should take clues from Ducati, if they're going to copy beautiful designs, Ducati knows one or two things about creating beautiful bikes.

For such an expensive scooter, the under the seat storage area is an eXtremely poor design. I guess that make the frame an eXtremely poor design too. And I'm talking about the area under the seat that extents and collapses. With other scooters the space you see under there is the space you get all the time; while the bike is moving or not.

Here in Brazil it's half a motorcycle because almost the wheels are also accessories. Sad!
This one looks particularly stupid, with the heads sticking out like 2 drunks in a car,, but the trouble with all BMWs is that no one can fix them when they go wrong and there is a lot to go wrong with all that tech. Furthermore, only BMW can service them too, they are literally a money pit, but lets face it the owners are short sighted narcissists, posers as we used to say. They never go anywhere worthwhile, so your review is all quite meaningless. I own a Royal Enfield a fun bike, easy to fix though due to it's simplicity and strong build (for rough Indian roads) has had nothing go wrong and servicing is a doddle. The other thing about BMW owners is they are uniquely unsociable, biking is all about fun and whatever you are riding there is this comradary everywhere...except with the Beama brigade, not all but many.
