Helmet cam test ride
I haven't used action 4 on helmet before but it worked out pretty good with mic 2 set on -12.
Frequent showers were unhelpful but this is the plus point the camera is getting good external audio but remains sealed - dream bike vlog set up.

      Only if you already have a gopro or similar and are quite happy spending more time editing. Editing what you want to show from the 360 degrees it recorded is quite time consuming but not exactly difficult once you get used to it. The battery life is not brilliant as it is literally recording everything around it like two cameras running but you can set it to do just one side

    Hi there, being Preston Lancashire based, it would grand to find a vey quiet campsite in the North York moors for perhaps two nights or so so I could ride explore and enjoy the lanes of the moors during the summer months. You wouldn’t happen to know of any would you ( a farm based campsite that is, not really bothered about to many facilities). I enjoy the Yorkshire dales which I can pretty much cover in a day, but looking at riding further east next year and especially riding to Goathland and taking a look at the steam railway there. Thanks 👍🏻

      (I posted from different account if you got this twice) I'd probably only be looking up things online same as you though generally there's more choice near the coast and indeed Goathland area is popular but rather more pricey a victim of it's own popularity. I rather prefer the area around Sutton Bank and it still isn't far to visit the hotspots like Whitby or Scarborough. These two might be Ok. wethercotefarmcampsite.co.uk/the-campsite www.bungdaleheadcamping.co.uk/index.html Or somewhere around that more SW part they often get better weather than the coast too especially early season. This one further north is a nice spot I spent some time there at an archaeology dig in the summer but did not camp - it is very quiet and cheap. Camping not just their barn thing. Https://kildalebarn.co.uk The problem with being away from a village or pub is not having option of nice evening meal without driving. - might not bother you for a couple of nights anyway. Near the coast there are some smaller sites tucked away in narrow lanes around e.g. ravenscar and robin hoods bay This one literally at Goathland is the farm used in Heartbeat where Greengrass lived it can be quite bleak and windswept we once held a biker rally there in October and it turned into a swamp ;) - very basic not sure what he charges. www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5312

    Hi, Hoping to order a new xsr700 next week, please has the bike for you been a good one, no issues ?. Been looking for a naked middleweight bike for a good few months now, and I’ve decided the xsr700 will be the one. Not buying one to do large journeys on or touring as I have a VFR 1200x for that, just a nice naked bike for rolling out of the garage and having a couple of hours fun on. Just found your channel and subscribing. I too love riding the roads of the Yorkshire Dales, awesome roads and the scenery 👌

    • @Moorsbiker
      @Moorsbiker 2 роки тому

      You will enjoy it for that kind of riding, I don't go far but still really love the character of it for bombing about locally. The handling and braking are more than adequate for style of bike, it is a compact and pretty little thing that draws attention when parked up. Engine is same as in MT07 and T700 but in different tune with ample low down torque. There's a massive industry of bolt on extras for mild customisation as that was Yamaha's intention from the start. Bad points - seat not that comfortable after 2 or 3 hours, clutch can seem a bit snatchy in 1st and 2nd especially when cold - you get used to it but I notice it seems quite odd if I have been more on the 250L for a while e.g. Winter. Not good for pillion unless they are petite. Not an easy bike to use simple throw over panniers but luggage systems are available. I manage with tank bag and back pack as with previous bikes but even a weekend away would not be easy without at least finding a rack for it. It gets about 70mpg Nothing whatsoever has gone wrong (so far...)

    • @Moorsbiker
      @Moorsbiker 5 років тому

      I was probably a bit harsh, the main problem is sheer numbers of visitors at busy times and a lot of them seem too lazy to use bins. There's good and bad bits, the good outweighs the bad and there are nice roads over the moors to get there. It's better outside peak times like school holidays, and definitely avoid Bank Holiday weekends if possible. It's sad how bit by bit the character is slipping away with old buildings demolished and replaced by fake versions in that miserable style you see widely where twee details are supposed to hide the modern box they built. The key central old town is largely untouched especially the East Side under the Abbey ruin.

    Why are you not showing 4k video if this is Drift Ghost 4k? Is the 4k video quality so bad on this camera?

    • @Moorsbiker
      @Moorsbiker 5 років тому

      Good question, the 4K recording setting uses the battery much faster, and produces much larger files which take up space quickly and take more time to render. For a special sequence that would be OK but for routine recording kind of pointless. The Drift 4K has an in-between option recording at 2.7K which looks good downscaled to 1080p - I use this mostly. The great majority of youtube views are only at 1080p anyway, on mobile devices (about half the views) 1080p or lower often looks less scratchy than higher resolutions I have started exporting at 1440p with some video which is more manageable to upload and edit. There is some evidence that UA-cam save and show a higher bitrate from videos uploaded at 1440p rather than 1080p.

      I mentioned in another comment the CRF is possibly more fun than any other bike I owned despite being slow and on paper 'unexciting'. The only snag is main road riding more than a few miles as it's not happy above about 60! The riding position being not far from standing means you get a good look round and see things you never would from a car.

    • @richardadkins6998
      @richardadkins6998 5 років тому

      Thanks for your thoughts on the CRF250L, I do like the look of CRF250 Rallye, but not many used examples around yet, and those that do come up don’t tend to be in the North. I’ve ridden a Honda XL125R and love the high riding position, that was a good bike for country lanes. How do you find the fuel capacity and range it offers?

    • @Moorsbiker
      @Moorsbiker 5 років тому

      To be honest I cheat a bit and usually fill it from a can at home, because fuel is hard to come by locally - in fact none for almost 15 miles at least at the weekend. So it's hard to keep track of mpg but clearly it's pretty good around 70 I guess. The other costs like insurance and road tax are relatively trivial. Same goes for tyres and other bits you need generally don't shock you bought online anyway.

      It's a Drift 4K in this one, it is pretty good but I 've just got a Sony FDR-X3000 looks like better quality but not sure I'll switch over permanently. Will try it next time I'm out. The Drift has good battery life and is designed from the start as a helmet camera. The problem is if stabilisation is turned on it's rather too aggressive for my liking and also the field of view is a bit narrow. The Sony is much wider field of view and also has more subtle stabilising option I have a Yamaha XSR700 (this video) and an older Honda CRF250L
