Did they ever make an 8 track player that could fast forward or rewind? I'm old enough to remember 8 tracks, but I also remember hating them! Lol
@skeeter197140 Yes, fast forward was common in some 8 track players, however, due to the continuous loop, rewind was not an option. Now you can learn to love the 8 track !🙂
@@h2ofield You just jogged my memory! My uncle had a player that could FF. I remember now that I thought it was odd there was no rewind. Thank you for helping me remember.
Hey there. Why not use a screw to help replace that rivet? Thank you!😀
By just heating the rivet, it keeps it original. I can open it with that soldering iron anytime!
Is there a website that you are using to print new labels?
@@brianreynolds6303 I borrow the images off the discogs website. I'm not set up to print at home at the moment,
Robert Crumb!!!!!
your videos puts a smile on my face.
Your comment just makes it all worthwhile! Thanks for being there!
Great find! Cool stereo
Go Tigers!
/That's/ the Loggins in L&M? Didn't know!
I've been faithfully watching everyday's video of 8 track goodness for a while now. Finally got the courage to make my first repair (sensing foil) on my copy of War's Why Can't We Be Friends? thanks to you. Now Low Rider rides again! Keep em coming. Cheers, Dave
Thank you for this wonderful comment!
💙❤️💚🌹👌
Great band
The LP was the same Blue For You in Europe just Status Quo in the U.S. and Canada
My goodness that is one big roll of tape. Yes I would imagine that might be a struggle for some players to handle. Reminds me of those blank c120 cassette tapes. I sometimes had a few issues with those back in the day, I suppose it has something to do with the tape itself as with c120's they had to make the tape thinner to fit it all into the cassette and they were prone to stretching and breaking a lot.
Great comment, Stephen, thanks!
That roll of tape looks big 👍
Caught and snag spool translates into the vocalist eating slice carrots while signing? Uh-oh!! This is why I hated 8 track tapes since I was little and it used to scare the creep out of me.
Hi, from England, UK. wouldn't it be better to use a self healing cutting mat for cutting the foam pads, you can get such mats from craft shops, then you won't cut your sheet underneath.
Hello! It's okay, as what I have there is serving that purpose already. It's just a plastic laminated sheet.
Very cool to see these Tim Horton approved, Canadian Elvis 8-tracks. Great collection! Cheers, Jeff
Thanks, Jeff!
Yes, keep up the 8 Track goodness!!
200!!!!!!!! Wheeee...
lol!
Keep going with the 8 track videos buddy
Take some time to recharge, I will definitely watch your videos when you post them. Peace... 8 tracks❤
Love the old 8tracks….i remember the Scotch blank cassettes around 78…cheers
Cheers to you, Harry!
If there are any of those tapes you decide not to use, you can send those to me. What do you think about that?😀
Well, for the time being, I'll be hanging on to these and the other 50 odd I have! :)
Super Cool 8-track player !! I have an original Mad Muntz 4-track player. It's a pretty cool little piece of American Hifi history !! Love the videos !! 😎✌️⛳️🏌♀️🇺🇸
No way so you'll hear him yakking on an 8 track and then tape tensions suddenly happens 😂😂😂 Uh-oh!! I think Gene Tracy has too many sliced carrots in his mouth while speaking 😂😂😂
"The Long And Winding Road" becomes a very sad song when it's the final track of a mixtape
That iron trick is impressive
Thank you. It's a delicate process!
I have always been fascinated by 8-track tapes. These don't look like the true US issues. Are these canadian or european releases?
Yes, these are Canadian releases.
I hated the 8 track tape ever since I was little when sometimes the 8 track playback goes wrong and gets stuck making creepy sounds like if a singer has too many sliced carrots in it's mouth and it used to creep me out as a child I thought man that was scary I mean I whish I knew how to undo creepy tape tension from an 8 track which I've seen it from a different youtube channel so maybe you would do a video of how to undo 8 track stuck playback problems.
@oscarflores1980 Hi Oscar, I've done over 190 8 track videos since February. Check my playlist and watch a bunch.. I'm sure I touch on tension many times.
can't get better than the dan!
Some of the greatest musicians ever!
I never owned 8-track tape back in the day. I was a cassette guy. Reasons: Cassettes are smaller, so you can carry more of them on you. You can't rewind an 8-Track tape to relisten to any given part immediately. You have to wait until the tape cycles through. Most importantly, unless any given full song ends on either of the 4 tracks, there's an awkward "chunk" sound where the song exits the track it began in and resumed in the next. All that said, kudos to you for your repair work. Younger folks will never know the relationship between the cassette tape and a pencil 😉
Beautiful! I really enjoyed watching you fix this 8-track tape.
Thanks so much for the kind words, I hope you'll check out my other videos.
I just found this 8 Track last week. Have not replaced the pad yet. Great project.
Cool! It's a good album.
CCR was great. I agree, the best band. Cheap Trick is great live. Thank you for the video.
Thank you for that review, very much appreciated. And definitely let me know what you think of the colored foam. I do cut those a little taller than the gray pads to make up for the softer foam. So that should prevent any crosstalk and fidelity issues. They are definitely a lot of fun 🙂
Pleasure! Thanks for the cool product! Analog and onward!
They are mules, correct? We only have whitetails here so these look a little odd to me. :)
I don't really know myself, but I believe they are mule deer.
My favorite Kansas album. I have that one on 8 track too. They're my #2 favorite band.
One of my favorite Paul McCartney and Wing albums. I have that on 8 track too.
Queen is my all time favorite band. Jazz is my favorite album.
Awseome tape. I'm a Barry Manilow fan.
That's cool, but he's a little high on the 'cheese' factor for me, lol.
This is such a great album cover. Thank you for your video.
It is a great cover. There's a guy in my town with an exact replica of that Ford.
god bless my friend H2OFIELD,i'm very glad you love 8 track,i had in my days 8 track collection an i still love it,thank you very much for loving an respect 8 track,i find still 8 tracks in garage sales an maybe goodwill, thank you for the blessing grace of the amazing 8 tracks sincerly your friend HUGO MIRANDA
Thank you for you kind comment. It's never to late to enjoy the 8 track tape!
My parents bought a 1979 Olds Cutlass and it came with one of these 8-track tapes. I can't remember all of the songs, but one of them was Toto - Hold the Line. I wish I could remember all of the other songs.

I got 3 tapes of old radio broadcasts i need fixed. One needs a piece cut out and spliced back together, other 2 needs new cases.
Hello, my goal here is to educate people on how to repair 8 tracks on their own. I do like to repair for other people and I don't charge, however it becomes quite expensive because of shipping . That said if you want to cover that I'd be glad to fix your tapes but just to forewarn you that it becomes expensive for shipping. That's why I've been hesitant to do anything over the mail and prefer to do things in person. You can email me at h2ofield@shaw.ca, if you still want to pursue anything.
8-track are really great quality. Thank you!
Thanks goodness for George, I got so tired of hearing Frampton blasting from dorm room windows that year!
Agreed, as much as I admire Frampton and all he's done it was getting to be too much of that live Frampton thing all the time on the radio.
@@h2ofield On my college campus in Northern Michigan that year my memory is Peter Frampton Live, Steve Miller Band Fly Like an Eagle, and Lou Reed Live! To this day I still have the Lou Reed Live album, (digital I'm afraid).
Groovy!
