Infinite is not a forgotten gem. Max himself 100% agrees the game deserved all criticism it got. Capcom tried their best, but Marvel want a cheap cashgrab (while offering next to no budget themselves), while forcing all kinds of restrictions on the gameplay like the visual style and the roster. Characters that would later be DLC were already in the story mode. You can tell it's rushed when the arcade mode doesn't even have the standard Capcom slideshow character endings or multiple voice option for characters. Then instead of waiting for synergy with Infinity War, they launched it good eight months before, making sure it gets destoryed by Dragon Ball FighterZ.

SF3 always seemed like the Mario 2 of Street Fighter: started as a different game, played different enough from the rest (slight emphasis on defense, parries, the darker, sci-fi/doomsday-ish setting, obviously the mostly new cast, and disrespected at first (as 2 was compared to SMB1 and 3) but looked at fondly by a certain portion of fans, too. I get if it was too much change in one go for some, but was glad to have these games alongside the Alpha games at the time.

Of course you can. I started playing about 8 years ago and was thinking "there's no way I can learn this, I'm way too late." I started in 2016, years after online edition came out and almost two decades after the game first released. I thought "there was no way I could catch up and be good at a game in 2016 that first came out in 1999." Now, I'm solidly A rank on Fightcade and can hold my own against basically any online player with a few exceptions. I have also held my own in arcades in Japan. Playing a fighting game is a constant journey of improvement and learning, and you can start that journey at any time.

It’s coming out for current gen.

I think it's a better time to learn 3rd strike than ever with fightcade and rankings. You can challenge the d ranks at first, build confidence and move up. You can challenge B or higher too and see what they do against less experienced players and build confidence seeing utilizing that, but obviously gotta change your game moving up. And if someone on UA-cam says you're wrong, you can challenge them on fightcade and respond to their message with the video. Haha If someone says Chunli is cheap, and then you challenge them with Sean and beat them and upload it, doesn't matter if they are right, it's all in fun!
