What are your thoughts on the pocket 3 vs the GoPro? We’re expecting our first child in a few weeks and I want to make home videos worst part of my GoPro is that the battery dies so quickly

The snowboarding video looks monochrome. Contrast is so high, can’t see any details on the trees. Also the snow looks one dimensional. I guess it’s good when you compare it to other camera of its kind. I just bought mine. Planning to get a gimbal to go with it.

Honestly would be great if they have great photo capabilities too. I do like the FOV on the Osmo Pocket 3 since in video it doesn't apply any crop like smartphone does which helps it get a wider FOV than a smartphone too. Maybe if they can slap a 12MP, dual stacked sensor from Sony for even better low light sensitivity and then a faster camera processing and it'll definitely have just as good of a photo camera as the videos are. The DJI Pocket 2 did have good photo capabilities. I was contemplating if 4:3 is a great aspect ratio for videos since cropping into a vertical format would be easier, but maybe just have vertical mode with the gimbal like they did on the DJI Mini 4 Pro 😂.

Great video! Here in Sydney I picked up the X100 F through a Facebook contact for abot Aus $1400 a few months ago. It was mint! I am a Canon Shooter but bought this for myself to just enjoy taking photos again. Yes it does slow you down which is good for composiion.Luv the joystick and D Pad of which the new ones don't have. The 24 mp sensor is more than enough.Won't be selling mine in a hurry!

Brevite emailed me too and I said no because I already owned one. But my review would have been scathing. The straps were so uncomfortable, the layout and dividers allowed too much room and my lenses would hop pockets while carrying. The bag with a 16 MacBook Pro was uncomfortable to carry and it has no chest strap to distribute the weight. I just picked up the Luna and already like it so much more, because Nomatic knows how to do camera straps. It’s more versatile because you can make the loft as big or small as you need.

That is what on my mind (also being a daddy to a 8yo son). The pandemic has driven me to this videography world. Like you, i documented as much as i can of my son. Pocket 3 does have limitations and so fragile. I have the pocket 3, but the action 4 is so tempting as well. Im not sure if i can have both, but buying the action 4 will make ne selling off the pocket 3 (which i might totally regret).. uurrggghhhh..! It just tat whenever there's a moment i didnt get my dream shot on op3 or the gimbal fails me, or when i wanna do really crazy manouvers, i do wish i had the action instead. But, sacrifising the 1 inch? Urrrggghhh! Help!

when you’re using the pocket three deep preferred D log M or HLG or do you just use normal?

Video is good but... The image quality part is kind of meh. And the price part too. 90 to 95% of cameras with micro 4/3 sensor or more are going to have really good to great IQ (even some 1 inch sensors are great). With a sensor starting at 16mpx (even 12) it will be enough for most applications (even professional ones and printing) so it would be okay for family pics. Witch means most cameras from the last 10 years could do the job, in term of IQ. The smaller the sensor, the worst low light performance you gonna get but again it can be okay starting in the micro 4/3 range. I shoot a lot in low light professionally on APSC (a lot of plays and some concerts in very dark environments) with my X-T4 and X-S10. They’re both more than ok for my job. I also shoot my family a lot (they say too much) with this gear, mostly with the lighter X-S10. I got splendid results! The bigger difference would be in the lenses, having good glass will get your results from good to great and you can compensate the low light problems with fast glass (f1.4 to f2 prime lenses). What would make the difference would be the autofocus, you should get a good one for family photos, but you don’t need the best one absolutely. Especially if you don’t do a lot of video (most older cameras have good photo AF but bad video AF, especially Fuji and some micro 4/3). All of this to say, to look at the used market first. You don’t need to break the bank to get a stunning camera and lens(es) if you go on the used market instead of buying brand new. Plus you can get high end cameras, with lots of options. For example, as a fuji user, I know that an X-T3 or 4 (used) will cost you a lot less than the latest release, an X-T50, but you would have WR, a much better battery (for the X-T4), a better built body (with children it can be very important), a lot better viewfinder, etc. The X-T50 would only give you a lot more mega pixels (that you don’t need) and better AF. And if you don’t need the high end specs, an X-T30 cost even less than an X-T3. If you want to spend money, fine, but in my photography it has never helped me to shoot more. In fact, with my family, it may be less, cuz I don’t want expensive gear near my very carefree children. That’s why I am gonna "upgrade" to an even older, cheaper camera than my X-S10 (witch I already bought used).

My Family camera is a Nikon F100 with the IRIX 45mm f/1.4, it can capture anything thrown at it. A little heavy but you get used to it.

The brevite dividers are SOOO BAD. We need bottom velcro on the dividers!

the way my super 8 hold focus throughout the zoom is to zoom all the way in, get it in focus on your subject, then as you zoom out to find your frame and it will stay sharp

If you use DJI Pocket 1 to take a photo, when you press the shutter button, it will delay for one second before taking the photo automatically. The photos taken will be clear and free of vibration and blur. Unfortunately, more than half of the photos taken with OP3 are blurry and unsightly. This problem has not been corrected for a long time, which is too bad. Its three-second time-lapse shooting is annoying because it wastes so much time!

Do you think this is a good camera for a kid? I love when my kids capture their POV, but I don’t want it broken 🙈
